I feel like the Team Rocket Arc in this version can be based on the Masked Man from Pokemon Adventures. After defeating Pryce you do Lake of Rage then challenge Jasmine. After liberating the Radio Tower and challenge the Masked Man, you have a surprise rematch with a stronger Pryce who could say something like, "I'm no longer confined by the rules of the Pokemon League! Prepare for the wrath of my full strength, [PLAYER]!" A nice nod to the manga would be to give the Masked Man Ho-Oh and Lugia as well
I love all these teams, but I have a couple suggestions: 1) for Morty’s team, why not run a Stantler on his team instead of a second Gengar? You can find one by Ecruteak city and its ability to cast illusions would fit Morty well. 2) for Whitney, how about Ursaring or Granbull instead of Lickitung? Both fit her type, are pretty tough and are Johto normal pokemon.
I really like these kind of muses, how the boss trainer's line-ups would change depending on position or region; what if Kanto leaders were introduced in Galar, so on and so forth. I'm glad others are out here sharing their muses and making for interesting contemplation :)
Koga was always done dirty. He literally states that he uses confusion, sleep, and poison to defeat his enemies. To me, that means that he isn't a type specialist but a status specialist. His original gen 1 team should've been Hypno, Wheezing, Electabuzz to throw in some paralysis, and finally Golbat. It would make for a much more interesting and difficult fight instead of just being able to spam Dig or Psychic against him
As an elite 4 member, Falkner should have a Skarmory too. Dodrio is great and all, but it's just another of his other two normal birds. Since Skarmory was so easily forgotten as a Johto Mon, having Gligar's electric immunity and Skarmory's resistances would've made it a staple Johto flying type. Jasmine having one doesn't mean an E4 member can't double up on it, especially if it was clearly a struggle the first time in a regular old gym. It earns its place on his team over the extra Kanto bird. Though if Pidgeot wasn't already his ace, I'd have taken dodrio.
God was waiting for this video for a long time, when I saw the Kanto part I was so excited that I made my own versions with the rest of the regions, I am surprised that we agreed on some leaders although I made a few changes It seemed strange to me to have two fighting type leaders in a single region so I put Hannibal as elite 4 and put Morty as the last leader for Lore reasons. Eusine having all three may be a bit much (albeit definitely cool), but Suicune is a definite. As for what I’d replace the other two with, Gengar joins in as the evolved Haunter from his battles in Crystal and HGSS, and the good old Pseudo-Legend every good champion tries to have in a Tyranitar that runs Earthquake
while the team for whitney makes sense in a challenge way, I dont know if she would find tauros a "cute" pokemon for her team, I could see it being swapped out for a wigglytuff instead.
Though Tauros is not rearlly cute, it does make a fitting companion for her signature Miltank and is a known normal type powerhouse but probably Wigglytuff is the more fitting option, making her team super pink and cute sans Snorlax.
I like the idea with Eusine, but I only would’ve given him Suicune, because that’s the one he had a thing for. His other two Pokémon would be Donphan and Tyranitar.
People proooobably classify Karen as a Dark type specialist because her dialogue is "I love Dark type Pokemon. I find their wild, tough image to be so appealing. And they're so strong", and 60% of her team is dark type (100% in her rematch fight), while the ones that aren't specifically dark type themselves have a color scheme that could make you think they were if you didn't know better (being Vileplume and Gengar with their dark purples). Vileplume probably could have been dropped for Tyranitar, but given it's not obtainable until endgame, they probably wanted to keep that particular evolution as a surprise. Edit: I didn't think about it at first, but its a little weird having two different fighting type gyms in Bruno and Chuck. There's also a lot of team issues if you're trying to go by each trainer having the same number of mons as it's original game counterpart. Bruno and Koga would need to be flipped to 3/2 instead of 2/3, Will should indeed have 4 instead of 3 (could either follow Morty and use a Natu opener like Morty did with using all the Gastly line, or else could have used something like a Drowzee/Hypno, Jynx or Unown). Claire, Pryce, Jasmine AND Chuck all have one too many (should be 2/3/3/4 instead of 3/4/4/5). I'd drop the Gyarados from Claire, Dewgong from Pryce (I'd actually rather drop Sneasel as its the weaker of the two, but in trying to use generational mons, I'm keeping it. Can't justify Delibird over Lapras in any situation though), unless Pryce was a lot earlier), Ampharos from Jasmine for not matching the type (even though it does follow the rule from your previous videos of being able to learn the gym's TM), and I'd drop Heracross from Chuck for a reason I'll get into shortly. Morty is tough because of the overall lack of Ghost types in Gen 2, so much like in OG Karen's case with there not actually being enough Dark types to fill out her team, the use of (Karen's two aces ironically enough) two dark types in Houndoom and Umbreon is acceptable. Whitney is good provided you ignore Snorlax and Clefable being unobtainable in Johto, but if that's an issue I'd replace with Granbull and Blissey. Bugsy I'd just replace Yanma with the Heracross we took from Chuck and possibly Beedrill with a Shuckle. Lastly, for Falkner I'd drop the Dodrio (for being obtainable in Kanto) for something like a Jumpluff, Mantine or maybe even a Gyarados or Dragonite. And then as I finish typing that, I get to the Champion and find Jumpluff suggested there, so yeah. Mantine or Gyarados lol.
As my personnal input nobody asked, I'd give Bugsy a Heracross because it'll add a good pokemon to his team, and Heracross has always been quite hard to obtain, thus adding to the dedication of Bugsy to get the best Bug Types. and Falkner either a Gyarados or a Dragonite instead of a Dodrio. As they're both Flying type that would give him a nice aggressivity add on his team. I'd also put Skarmory while I understand that the intend was to not give dupes / repetitions, Skarmory has proven to be an incredible option / support Pokemon and it would be fair to give it to the best Elite 4 member. Overall Falkner's team would be Pidgeot / Noctowl / Gligar or Skarmory / Gyarados or Dragonite and his ace Crobat.
Ok... love the person that you put as champion. Have you thought about maybe the Sprout Tower Sage? He kinda acts as a "pre gym" boss already. And he could be a grass specialist. Not sure if we've seen a grass specialist as an E4 or champion yet. Could be interesting. (spoiler coming... dont read if you havent watched the video yet) . . . . What would you idea be for Euscine's team after you defeat him? Like I'd imagine he'd release the legendary beasts or give them to the player in some way. Electrode and Jumpluff are really underwhelming pokemon. I mean, theres always "slap a Ttar on him and call it a day" but what about the other 2 on his team? Also... yea... Alakazam is like a staple for champions but its just so boring. Too many rivals/champions use it. I know, its a good pokemon, but there has to be something better.
For Eusine, I can see him having a really cool team. I would personally give him Tyranitar, Kingdra, Alakazam, Electrode, Gyarados, and Houndoom. For a lore team, just replace Gyarados with Suicune. Having some of the stronger Pokemon from Johto and Kanto would be awesome. Besides, Tyranitar needs more love
Karen’s team: Figures, and a reminder how much a struggle Chikorita has with this region. Morty’s team: Yeah, nothing you can do. Whitney’s team: Since your Pokémon are nearly fully trained at this point with access to some of their best moves, it’s far easier to beat Whitney now than before. The level difference is why. Falkner: He had a Skarmory in the anime in addition to his Pidgeot, so could have had that in there, but his team here is still amazing! Also, be sure to add in some dialogue about how Euisine worked hard to become worthy, otherwise it feels kind of pandering, like Battle Frontier Legendaries pandering.
I would have changed a few examples. Whitney instead of likitung I'd switch with ursaring and it's funny she's the oh iono who does pokemon for views when Whitney did that because it was the in thing. Faulkner would be very broken with that team. Probably would add legendary bird mons in a rematch situation or if he was the champion instead Early dark gym would be a great way for the game to show off its new typing.
Sinply bc i like a civilized argumentative conversation. If were going for dark spooky pokemon there's options of gengar, houndoom, misdreavus, umbreon, tyranitar, ariados, murkrow, and sneasel. However we could go a step further amd go for intimidating pokemon too such as feraligatr, stantler, crobat, Nidoking, scizor and maybe even Aerodactyl. For the best team of everything listed above id go with gengar, houndoom, unbreon, tyranitar, and misdreavus. Now for a rematch this is where id say we bring out the non dark/ghost mons and embrace more of the intimidating pokemon, and to show hes a serious trainer who once believed to be the one hooh would return for. I'd make the team of Gengar, houndoom, tyranitar, nidoking, scizor, and feraligatr
Also eusine isn't all that intimidating even with the 3 legendaries as you could bring in any ground type and set up on the electrode and then use it to spam ground attacks for super effective damage on electrode, Raikou, and Entei. Alakazam has awful defense stat, and if u set up enough you should be able to easily smack suicune in one shot as well. Only real threat would be the jumpluff which goes down to a solid rock attack, which most ground types have access to either rock slide or stone edge...
I personally think Karen should have Umbreon and Houndour while Morty would have Murkrow, Misdreavous, a Gengar, a Eviolite Haunter, and his Ace would also be Houndour, but maybe on the post-game rematch he could be rockin' a newly evolved Super Luck Scope Lens boosted-Honchrow and Mismagius has it's ace. Also give my girl Jasmine a extra Magnemite just to preserve her OG team build (and cuz i think it looks cool at Ampharos left) plus he is so weak that been her fifth pokemon wouldn't make much of a difference since he would probably just be a Thunder Wave, Supersonic set-upper with Sonic Boom and Shock Wave. Not much of a big deal.🙂 Btw, if Koga is out on Johto doesn't thta means Janice is running is this? (Janice? Janine?) What about you show us up on a Kanto post-game reversed video since the gym leaders are quite different from OG Kanto to HGSS post-game Kanto. (And please give my boi Bruno a Machop just to round up with Bugsy's team and to honor his Ace Machomp.🥺🙏)
@@Xatumi And i mean, Umbreon is a friendship evolution so at least it wouldn't be illegal like Falkner's Pidgeotto because you can have it has long you have a Eevee with high-friendship/happiness and then level it up at night. Now how Karen managed to be afraid a pokemon is a mystery. Since you know... she is a KAREN.
Why would Will have an Espeon? I'm guessing because of being similar to Gengar; but Will uses dual type psychics, so Slowbro or Exeggutor might stick to his theme better.
Can't wait for hoenn. I'll try to make my guesses Wally would be champion and have a super version of his team with megas and better moves. Roxanne would have probopass armaldo lilleep Evo. Aggron relicanth for coverage Brawly heracross makunitta medicham gallade braloom. Thunder guy. Magnizone eletrite lanturn raichu claydol who looks like he could be electric. Flannery sunny day castorm. Mancargo numel line torkoal wabufeet as the egg exists near her. Dad as the final gym leader would be epic. Slaking vigaroth liloone swellow guts poison orb zangoose Winona same team as before. Mix in with tropius. Tat Liza same. Wallace/Juan: remove luvdisc and garados give them lower levels. Done. Sydney could be a good middle challenge with shifteny and co Phoebe would be perfect cutting out her extra ghost copies. Add a froslass too. Ice elite four. Castorm hail team would be middle EVOS instead. Drake: bagon viarba would probably be broken. So Steven aron and skarmory would be fine.
I like your suggestions, except for Skarmory. It would be way to OP so early on (Its a Steel flying type, so you don't have solid counters yet if you choose Mudkip or Treecko) and its BST is also way to high (465) so early on. So Beldum is actually the better fit (Has only a BST of 300).
@@nickdentoom1173 well if it gets the extra moves from the Oras version sure as take down is pretty meh for a Steven Mon Didn't want to put metang as that sounds too dangerous for a start and magnimite is more a electric type.
@@ivanbluecool Beldum only learns Tackle by level up though and combining that with only a 300 BST (Which is lower than Arons 330), Beldum is as such an even better choice than Aron. I would also give Rainy Castform to Juan/Wallace, so you would have every form of Castform being used.
@@nickdentoom1173 gym leaders give tms so you could make a case for beldum just having one. Would be pretty bad or boring to just have a tackle Mon. I'd probably give Steven the shiny beldum with a few less moves. Yeah but the game has a ton of water mons so it be pretty packed already.
I would change one of Morty's Gengar into a Tyranitar instead. Whitney might be to OP with both Snorlax and Tauros alongside Clefable and Miltank. So i would personally switch out Tauros for Stantler (as that would give her a second Johto mon as well).
why would the final elite 4 member, the second strongest trainer in the region, have a gligar (no eviolite) and a noctowl instead of Skarmory, which he had in the anime, and Xatu, two more strong johto natives?
Karen - Gastly, Murkrow, Houndour Bruno - Tyrogue, Onix, Hitmontop Koga - Venonat, Grimer, Ariados Will - Smoochum, Exeggcute, Slowpoke, Xatu Clair - Dratini, Gyarados, Dragonair, Kingdra Pryce - Dewgong, Lapras, Cloyster, Piloswine Jasmine - Magneton, Skarmory, Ampharos(idc it just fits her well), Steelix Chuck - Primeape, Poliwrath, Hitmonlee, Machamp Morty(this is hard so I just thought of what could be found near Ecruteak city) - Weezing, Stantler, Crobat, Ninetales, Gengar Whitney - Clefable, Granbull, Wigglytuff, Blissey, Miltank Bugsy - Scyther, Heracross, Shuckle, Pinsir, Scizor Falkner - Xatu, Fearow, Noctowl, Dodrio, Pidgeot I made this list before I watched and I was surprised he actually did put Ampharos on Jasmine's team despite it not being steel type.
I've always thought that Skarmory was a gen 3 mon also! And that's probably because of Winona. Btw, the same thing happens with Houndoom and gen 4, because of Flint.
I would have given Morty more Psychic types. Lead with Gengar, move into Espeon, Xatu, then Slowking, and then end with his ace Misdreavus. While Morty is ghost type trainer, he is also a psychic in lore. Specifically, he is a Seer, able to predict the future. So his Pokemon reflect this. Gengar serves as a warning to incoming trainers, as Morty just used Agatha's ace as his lead, and also references his friendship with the ghosts of the Burned Tower. Espeon and Xatu are both notably precognative psychic type Pokémon, and considered psychic primarily because they see the future. Slowking may not be able to see the future technically speaking, but it's so intelligent that it might as well be able to, and its a Pokémon that people and Pokémon often look to for guidance. Misdreavus is the first pure Ghost type, and it is modeled after various classic depictions of fortune tellers. Not only the Crystal ball kind, but also the Banshee, a kind of fae from Irish folklore that foretells of death. Misdreavus also just learns a lot of psychic moves. This team would probably not be too hard in Gold and Silver due to the ghost type being physical in those games, but in Heartgold and Soulsilver this team could be a nightmare to deal with if you didn’t properly prepare. Particularly because both Gangar and Slowking get Focus Blast by TM if your only plan was to bring a dark type, and everything here also learns Shadow Ball if you were brave enough to bring a ghost type.
I feel like the Team Rocket Arc in this version can be based on the Masked Man from Pokemon Adventures. After defeating Pryce you do Lake of Rage then challenge Jasmine.
Actually Bruno has one twin brother who is the 3rd gym leader of Kanto and Bruno is Actually from Johto
😂😂😂😂
Funny how i fought Jasmine as the seventh gym leader in Soul Silver, and she is the seventh in this video too
Isn’t Houndour basically a Kanto native Pokémon? It’s just that night time didn’t exist in Gen 1
Skarmory one is so true!!! HAHAHAHA
I would have changed a few examples. Whitney instead of likitung I'd switch with ursaring and it's funny she's the oh iono who does pokemon for views when Whitney did that because it was the in thing.
Faulkner would be very broken with that team. Probably would add legendary bird mons in a rematch situation or if he was the champion instead
Early dark gym would be a great way for the game to show off its new typing.
3:51 nope i am the same and thats because you cant find it easily in johto, how ever in hoenn you can.
Well that is funny 2 fighting leaders
Chikorita is cooked worse than Drake right now
Huh. Two fighting type gym leaders for a region. That's a first.
Not much of a big deal.🙂
Btw, if Koga is out on Johto doesn't thta means Janice is running is this? (Janice? Janine?)
What about you show us up on a Kanto post-game reversed video since the gym leaders are quite different from OG Kanto to HGSS post-game Kanto. (And please give my boi Bruno a Machop just to round up with Bugsy's team and to honor his Ace Machomp.🥺🙏)
I can see that
@@Xatumi Noice
@@Xatumi And i mean, Umbreon is a friendship evolution so at least it wouldn't be illegal like Falkner's Pidgeotto because you can have it has long you have a Eevee with high-friendship/happiness and then level it up at night. Now how Karen managed to be afraid a pokemon is a mystery. Since you know... she is a KAREN.
I would've given Falkner a Skarmory, all of his pokemon are weak to ice.
Gyara-dahs. That's a new one.
Like this kind of vids I just discovered your channel literally 5 minutes ago could you please do the rest of the regions for this vid Xatumiko.
I do a variety of what if scenarios but i gotchu
@@Xatumi I love these what if scenarios since gamefreak isn't as creative anymore it's up to us fans to do the creativity
Why would Will have an Espeon? I'm guessing because of being similar to Gengar; but Will uses dual type psychics, so Slowbro or Exeggutor might stick to his theme better.
I like it. I would if gave Whitney a urserirang and to bad theres 2 fighting gyms
Clair should have Crocanaw, it’s a Johto looking dragon-seque water type, just like Gyarados (let’s leave Kanto mons in Kanto)
My suggestion for Morty team:
2x Gengar
Misdreavus
(shiny) Ninetales
Weezing
oh i like it!
ah yes we replace lance the bird master with falkner the bird master lol
Genius
Can't wait for hoenn. I'll try to make my guesses
Wally would be champion and have a super version of his team with megas and better moves.
Roxanne would have probopass armaldo lilleep Evo. Aggron relicanth for coverage
Brawly heracross makunitta medicham gallade braloom.
Thunder guy. Magnizone eletrite lanturn raichu claydol who looks like he could be electric.
Flannery sunny day castorm. Mancargo numel line torkoal wabufeet as the egg exists near her.
Dad as the final gym leader would be epic. Slaking vigaroth liloone swellow guts poison orb zangoose
Winona same team as before. Mix in with tropius.
Tat Liza same.
Wallace/Juan: remove luvdisc and garados give them lower levels. Done.
Sydney could be a good middle challenge with shifteny and co
Phoebe would be perfect cutting out her extra ghost copies. Add a froslass too.
Ice elite four. Castorm hail team would be middle EVOS instead.
Drake: bagon viarba would probably be broken. So
Steven aron and skarmory would be fine.
@@nickdentoom1173 well if it gets the extra moves from the Oras version sure as take down is pretty meh for a Steven Mon
Didn't want to put metang as that sounds too dangerous for a start and magnimite is more a electric type.
If you make this rom hack can you also add 10 levels to all the wild Pokemon so that Johto is less...Johto?
I would change one of Morty's Gengar into a Tyranitar instead.
Whitney might be to OP with both Snorlax and Tauros alongside Clefable and Miltank. So i would personally switch out Tauros for Stantler (as that would give her a second Johto mon as well).
why would the final elite 4 member, the second strongest trainer in the region, have a gligar (no eviolite) and a noctowl instead of Skarmory, which he had in the anime, and Xatu, two more strong johto natives?
Because its “make believe” 😂
i expected eusine to be the champion so you i deserve a reward
👏👏👏
based they/them usage for Bugsy tbh
💯
Can you just make whitney with her og team since the team deserves elite 4 status
Karen - Gastly, Murkrow, Houndour
Bruno - Tyrogue, Onix, Hitmontop
Koga - Venonat, Grimer, Ariados
Will - Smoochum, Exeggcute, Slowpoke, Xatu
Clair - Dratini, Gyarados, Dragonair, Kingdra
Pryce - Dewgong, Lapras, Cloyster, Piloswine
Jasmine - Magneton, Skarmory, Ampharos(idc it just fits her well), Steelix
Chuck - Primeape, Poliwrath, Hitmonlee, Machamp
Morty(this is hard so I just thought of what could be found near Ecruteak city) - Weezing, Stantler, Crobat, Ninetales, Gengar
Whitney - Clefable, Granbull, Wigglytuff, Blissey, Miltank
Bugsy - Scyther, Heracross, Shuckle, Pinsir, Scizor
Falkner - Xatu, Fearow, Noctowl, Dodrio, Pidgeot
I made this list before I watched and I was surprised he actually did put Ampharos on Jasmine's team despite it not being steel type.
Whitney would still be easy :)
I thought Slugma and Magcargo were gen three
two fighting type gym tho?
Eugene as a champion good choice!
thanks boss!
Wait we have 2 Fighting type bosses in gen 2?
Yupp
@@Xatumi :(
I always saw Eusine giving you Champion wibes
For a long time I thought the houndour line was from gen 3 because team magma used it alot
true I can see that!
So who takes the place of Red?
Giovanni.
i just wanna know where you found all that femboy lookin art of morty bro
bruno should be rock type as there is churck already
I've always thought that Skarmory was a gen 3 mon also! And that's probably because of Winona.
Btw, the same thing happens with Houndoom and gen 4, because of Flint.
Whitney was easy
How boring a cheesy giving the Champion the 3 legendary beasts. Like… come on dude, you can do better.
Also, Morty’s ace needs to be Gengar.
.
Nah if I'm playing this as a rom hack I'm definitely over leveling against whitney. I don't care even if it is a Nuzlocke.
If you make this rom hack can you also add 10 levels to all the wild Pokemon so that Johto is less...Johto?
