When you beg and pray Crawling and slithering in mud and clay And you cry blood when you say Why, where did I from thee stray Do not stand alone Come join our ranks Surely no god is there for you The universe is empty all through For this riddle you lack a clue In the fall there is nothing you can do God seems to have left us The world is ours thus So rise up, o ye lost ones As one we will claw the clouds Rise up, the forsaken and dethroned A legion wronged, to claw the clouds When you beg and pray Crawling and slithering in mud and clay And you cry blood when you say Why, where did I from thee stray God seems to have left us The world is ours thus So rise up, o ye lost ones As one we will claw the clouds Rise up, the forsaken and dethroned A legion wronged, to claw the clouds
Thomas Hodgson a very awesome vocal range! If you like music like this, I hope it wouldn’t be too much to ask if you can check out my band.. Tenebris Aeternam-Travesty of Our Death, let us know what you think man, I’m mark.. the vocalist, keep it metal my dude!!
Idk if you've found them yet on Pandora but another good melodeath (as far as I'm concerned) band that's fucking awesome is Wretched. You should give them a try, they also have epic instrumentals too
I can see now that bands like In Flames, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy opened a new line on the death-melodic metal for many, many other bands to follow……
glad to see im not the only one who found this band through pandora. i have it on kalmah radio so you know theres gonna be a bunch of great bands like this showing up there
You're probably right but I just call them that for simplicity's sake. I don't really get into the whole sub-sub genre thing. I'm glad to see they're getting more recognition though. Best band I've found since Kalmah way back when \m/
Omg... The clip of the female rank 14 paladin that introduced me to Satariel and Opeth. And along with Gegon (the last ovski) with kamelot songs got me into metal. In the meantime I gained over 50 real friends, went to Wacken 5 times, GMM 2 times and dozens of other small metal festivals. The video with song contributed to it. :)
I really like Darkseed, Disarmonia Mundi and Scar Symmetry= Solution 45 alot as well. Those are all "mellodeath" but I hate sub genres too, it's getting out of hand.
Pandora yup. I find a lot of great shit from Pandora. I already listened to Soilwork In flames and shit like that but was surprised I never heard of some of the stuff Pandora comes up with.
An Important Piece Of Modern Art A very awesome vocal range! If you like music like this, I hope it wouldn’t be too much to ask if you can check out my band.. Tenebris Aeternam-Travesty of Our Death, let us know what you think man, I’m mark.. the vocalist, keep it metal my dude!!
*Comment several years later!* ENGAGE GENRE WARS! This is melodic black metal guys. Melodic death metal is stuff more like "Dark Tranquillity. For the guy wondering about the cover. It's a bird skull done in scrimshaw and bone pieces superimposed on a background designed to look like the sky and still invoke a cosmic feeling.
I see you're point I really do, and that is a viewpoint I can understand and respect. But I respectfully disagree. I agree that the vocals definitely sound black metal, but the music is too catchy and punchy for black metal I think. Too thrashy. Black metal to my ears is usually smooth (tension wise) and more dissonant. This has too much kick to it. (none of these things are a negative of that kind of music, I love black metal as well)
+sky Hugo Nothing about this is black metal. The band itself dabbled in the genre in the past i believe, but this album has no trace of it. This is pure Gotherburg melodeath.
+sky Hugo We've been calling it melodic death metal throughout most of our years. There might be some black metal influences in the music, sure. But calling it melodic black metal is a bit of a stretch. //Mike - guitars in the band
Seems this album is de-listed on all the major streaming sites. Glad this is still around 🏴☠️
When you beg and pray
Crawling and slithering in mud and clay
And you cry blood when you say
Why, where did I from thee stray
Do not stand alone
Come join our ranks
Surely no god is there for you
The universe is empty all through
For this riddle you lack a clue
In the fall there is nothing you can do
God seems to have left us
The world is ours thus
So rise up, o ye lost ones
As one we will claw the clouds
Rise up, the forsaken and dethroned
A legion wronged, to claw the clouds
When you beg and pray
Crawling and slithering in mud and clay
And you cry blood when you say
Why, where did I from thee stray
God seems to have left us
The world is ours thus
So rise up, o ye lost ones
As one we will claw the clouds
Rise up, the forsaken and dethroned
A legion wronged, to claw the clouds
Where the light favors few, the dark accepts many.
I cannot believe that this video (song) doesn't have a BILLION views by now. This shit amazes me. Incredible lyrics, too.
One of the best songs I have heard in a long long time!!
Old Times ❤
New to Satariel .... love it!

\m/ been learning how to play this by ear. It’s so much fun to sing and play
Ooo lord!!.... this song was My Best 2016 🤘good memorys🎸💀
I can see now that bands like In Flames, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy opened a new line on the death-melodic metal for many, many other bands to follow……
Satariel has always been very much their own thing though, this song isn't very representative of their overall sound
Pandora is just so full of win for discovering new bands you never had an idea they existed
glad to see im not the only one who found this band through pandora. i have it on kalmah radio so you know theres gonna be a bunch of great bands like this showing up there
This comment is what introduced to to Kalmah
You sir... you are a blessing to this world
I think I also found them on my kalmah station.
You're probably right but I just call them that for simplicity's sake. I don't really get into the whole sub-sub genre thing.

After all these years it still sounds perfect to me. Warders of the 7th sigil...
Omg... The clip of the female rank 14 paladin that introduced me to Satariel and Opeth.

Ger Grumble Wow. That's great. Good to hear so long afterwards. It was a great time in early WoW. //Thaara

Fucking love this album cover. Looks badass.
I just gotta say: badass album cover. That is all.
The opening sounds like In Flames
I instantly thought the same :)
excellent call, couldnt put my finger on who it sounded like though
so does the guitar solo
I thought it sounded like As I Lay Dying, but I also see In Flames now thinking about it as well.
This song is so beast
My god i think i just metal gasmed.
its really good
Good stuff
Only Album cover? :) that band is badass too :)
Exellent!
It seems like a lot of people are discovering this through Pandora, and I know I did. Fuck yes. Great song.
I think 50,000 of the views are from me.
CannibalisticWolf I think 54,000 of the views are actually from me.
RUclips dosen't count the repeated views :D
one of them is mine
Amjad Alhaffar
You’re right! OP should’ve made a joke about that.
I know I've put in at least 500
I wish there’s a tab for this song.
Yeah i have tried to find but there is only tab for the intro:( guess the only way to learn this is listening it by the ear
Que banda tan chida
2019 lml
what tuneing are they playing in
+BeardedSega Sounds like it’d probably be B standard (most likely 7 string standard knowing Satariel)
+muntificator 7-string tuned down a half step.
FUCKING SICK!!!!! \\M//
I really like Darkseed, Disarmonia Mundi and Scar Symmetry= Solution 45 alot as well. Those are all "mellodeath" but I hate sub genres too, it's getting out of hand.
