I think it's the best thing for those yards Rob. Looking forward to setting up the hoop houses & get growing again. Might start off small with a hydro system on the deck away from the wallabies though. Cheers mate.
Head is much better thanks Garry. Want to get stuck into clearing the chook pen & garden area but we keep getting showers. Makes the taller grass & weeds a lot harder to cut unfortunately.
I am familiar with hot weather plus rain that makes the vegetation grow wild. Hopefully, you will get a break from the rain and catch up on the clearing. Your farm is looking good and green. @@BitsOutTheBackFarm 👍
Congratulations on the new farm. We just bought a house and we have .34 of an acre. I love to garden so I'm looking at doing that around the house. Loving your videos.
@@BitsOutTheBackFarm I've got to fence in the property so wildlife don't get my plants. I've been watching your channel for years now, and I want a hydro setup really bad.
I always like to make myself known before I go digging around the sheds. We know these had mice due to the feed so would be a great place for the nope ropes to hang out in. Lived on an oil seed farm for a few years & used to get loads of red bellies in particular in & around the seed pallets.
That young dingo from the short we posted is still hanging around. Doesn't look like it phases the wallabies much. Our neighbour said to keep an eye out for a few ferals he's seen. One's a big black dog (said it looked like a great dane X) & a smaller red that thinks could pose a problem. More concerned about Jack if we're out at the moment as he wouldn't last long against a few dogs.
@@BitsOutTheBackFarm yeah, the mutts are vicious. We nearly lost one of our dogs, she barely survived. Usually they hang around for a few weeks and go elsewhere, this time they're out here for over a month. Making life a little difficult for us with the regular food chain we have as the critters are avoiding the mutts. Hopefully they leave soon, because nothing like a wounded animal and the buggers work in packs.
Dont you worry about what might be lurking under junk piles We do when were on our place in Thailand & i think you got more nasty's out there. Great post as always
We always make a lot of noise before moving bits & pieces around. Most of the snakes here will bugger off if you make a bit of a racket. The friendly carpet pythons tend to stick around though.
If you save those rusty shed panels and trim off the ragged ends, you can have patch panels on hand for mending storm damage as well as small equipment shelters. Are you going to be able to roll up the fencing for possible re-use? Wipper-snipper seemed like an amusing term to me, as did strimmer (U.K.) the first time I heard it. Line trimmer or string trimmer is what my family usually calls such equipment. I own a Weed Eater leaf blower. It's not surprising to me how many people in the U.S. use that corporation's name for a line trimmer. They may have invented it, but I don't really know.
Most of the tin will be saved but a lot of the wire from around the humpy had rusted out along the base so are just setting it to one side for the time being. Will decide what we want to do with it after we take down the other fences. Cheers Ron.
We think they are Red-necked wallabies (Macropus rufogriseus) but are not 100% sure as they are also very similar to the black stripe & swamp. A lot more skittish than the eastern grey kangaroos we see around the place.
B works very hard thanks!! 😉 We're hoping to get some family & friends up to lend a hand here or their during the school holidays. Cheers & have a top one.
Good on you guys 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 It’s looking good !
Thanks Sandra. Hope to get a fair bit done this week once the showers pass.
You're right. Sometimes it's better to just hit the reset button, clean everything out, and do it the right way. ;-)

Looking good Rob. Just watch out for your head. Takes time to get everything the way that you want it to be.

😂 We'll be down your way in a few weeks so will stop by & pick up those panels. I still like mine black & no sugar. 😉

Are you starting the gardens from scratch or were there some there when you moved in?
Hope you garden grows well for you.
@@BitsOutTheBackFarm We'll be starting from scratch. Thinking of raised garden beds.

R and B, Good to see there were no snakes, they just love hanging out in stuff like that.

The roo at the end is nice, ruddy dingos/muts have been around, not a roo in sight!

Am loving your project videos. We get to see you two put into shape your farm, ...yay! :) . Nice to see red out there. It's a beauty. Good job.
Thanks Mary. Hope to have the place tidied up a bit before the next update if we don't get a lot of rain.

Great work people, glad the head survived!

Hi Rob, if your dizzy, when standing you should be driven to a Dr.
That passed after a day or so. All good now.

Only ever use a snatch strap for extracting other vehicles . Never use it for anything else . Its like a giant rubber band .
It's OK to use it like they did (intend).
I've seen them used safely for all sorts of things, from, dragging logs off roads to lifting motors on a pully system.

Rob, have you used a tractor before ? do you want some tips to avoid danger ?
I learned how to drive when I was about 11 on our David Brown & Massey Ferguson. No recent experience but am sure I'll pick it up again fast enough.
ok, yeah , you'll pick it up quick. @@BitsOutTheBackFarm

Those freezers were much worse than first thought. Glad you didn’t do anything permanent to your noggin.
They were pretty far gone mate. One of the uprights may have been OK but the base lining had a big crack in it.
Cheers John.
@@BitsOutTheBackFarm yeah for sure. Seeing them in the video they are pretty bad.
