My D doesn't sound right like yours for the finger picking. It's tuned correctly and finger position is correct. What could be wrong?

It could be one of two things. Ukuleles can be strung with a High G or a low G string. I use a Low G string for many fingerpicking tunes. I am playing a Tenor ukulele in standard C6 tuning (GCEA). You are referencing a D that doesn’t sound correct. If you have a D string, and we’re not referring to a D chord, then you may have a Baritone ukulele which is tuned to (DGBE). I have a video on the difference between Low and High G string ukuleles. Cheers KEV

Thanks for letting me know. I didn’t realize I left that out. These lessons are actually from my Sea Turtles live online classes - we learn a lot of extra stuff in there and I answer questions. We did a deep dive on that section little riff - super fun , and I must have forgot to put it in. The video was already long. I will post a video of what we did as an exercise. Fun! If you have any ideas for tunes, techniques or ukulele topics let me know in the comments. Also you can go to thetikination.com - check out our classes. During Covid they are all donation only so you can hop on and learn. We also have a podcast and other ukulele stuff.
