One of the greatest of Operatic Overtures and Beethoven's music is such a force for good in these troubled times. Although I love what Gerald Hoffnung did with this piece, calling it Leonora Overture No. 4 for a bit of light relief now and then. Brilliant playing by the LSO under Maestro Noseda's directon, as always.

Yes this piece and the Choral Fantasia should, in my view, be played much more often. A distillation of hope.
