    There's a few good free options too like Gravity Sketch and Medium, although Medium is not in development anymore.
    I'm surprised nobody has made a VR addon for Blender yet. There's already basic VR but all you can really do is move about in your scene. I often use it for checking scale but it would be great if you could do a bit of scultping too.

    Looks like a pretty powerful tool
    there have been others before, but this is the first I've seen that does proper sculpting in a way that seems intuitive and could be exported easily
    I'll have to give this a try at some point, as I've always struggled with how awkward sculpting in blender can be

    I ended up purchasing this program after watching your video - totally worth it!! The controls are so intuitive, and it runs super smooth so far. I'm still struggling to learn a lot of the brushes and scene management, but loving it so far. I have followed your other videos and absolutely love your presentation style. I'm not sure if you were planning to, but having a series on Shapelab would be incredible! Either way, thanks for all of the content so far :)!

    Blender isn't a Sculpting Program, though? i mean... even Nomad Sculpt is better at Sculpting than Blender. so of course Shapelab is gonna be better.

    wow, that's so cool. i am working in motion / 3D softwares a lot and have struggled all my life long with those lousy interfaces (mouse + keyboard) of PC's, which really do not involve my body at all. with that VR-sculpting I couldbring my body back, that's sounds very promising. also the price of just 200bucks for the quest 2 is incredible. i will give it a try.

    Awesome Grant, finally something that I could actually use to create 3D from my sofa with my quest 2 vr headset instead of playing games. Great tip. Bought it instantly on steam yesterday and tested it. I need some practice of course, but it seems like a good usable tool for the creation of my game characters.

    They recently raised their price by $20, maybe more, I don't recall what it was exactly a couple weeks ago and also decided that really they want some of that tasty perpetual software as a service money so now they have that too in case you thought owning software you bought was for chumps. These grand aspirations of tapping into your wallet for now on have evidently led them into the welcoming arms of paid endorsements... yay for us...

    • @grabbitt
      @grabbitt  3 месяца назад

      i didnt think the pricing was too bad personally. Yes there's a sub model which lots of people don't like but the one of payment seemed ok

    • @carlanderson5068
      @carlanderson5068 3 месяца назад

      You don't get updates after the sub ends, but you can still use the software. And it is getting very active updates. I don't love any subscription model, but this isn't such a bad one (yet, if development stalls or it gets buggy, my opinion will change).

    Yes. it is extremely therapeutic like actual clay sculpting or even gardening. I think it just triggers the evolutionary part of your brain associated with what humans have done for thousands of years. I've used SculptrVR, and sculpted entire landscapes. I once went 12 hours straight without realizing it. Didn't know night time had passed me by.

    Fun and good for working might be 2 opposing desires at times. But assuming support for this kinda thing will mean it improves, then VR in 10 years could be easily the better choice for digital creating.

    One thing I tested with the tentacle brush is you can reduce the size as you move it with the right control stick. It is a little hard to get right at first, though. It would be hard to do with a tablet, but works pretty well in VR. Also, there's an option to limit the effects (for any brush) to connected geometry that I've found really helpful. It prevents the brushes from affecting another portion of the geometry that's close to, but not directly connected to the center of the brush's center. Soi if you want to move a spot on the chest with a large brush, but don't want to grab the chin at the same time, it helps a lot to turn that on. -edit- I commented too soon, you talked about the connected option in the section right after I spoke.

    The tech nerd in me, kinda likes it. The old disagreeable person in me, just would prefer to do it the old fashioned way (why I also still like to animate on paper). Something about the old analog process that I can appreciate more.
