  • Here you find some rare snippets from Roy Orbison doing fitness with a personal trainer etc. Sorry for the bad VHS-quality, the source was crappy.

We can still listen to his new songs if he doing exercise regularly from 60s.
Too young to die at 52.
I love most of his songs. He is legend for all generations.

I remember the day John Lennon died. And the day Roy Orbison died. Two of the saddest days of my life. Both died far too young. But at least I still have the memories, and their songs will live on forever.

I've always been under the impression that his wife, Barbara, was the one who had a hand in getting Roy (and family) on that show. I like it, because we see footage that we don't usually get to see. The announcer/host was the one going on about the luxuries, not Roy - Roy was talking about how he likes doing music and that he did it for his family. And I always liked hearing Roy speak with that drawl of his! :-)

Roy loved the luxury lifestyle he was always buying luxury cars and motorcycles, after his very first record started selling in 1956 he made a down payment on a caddy and spent his first royalty check on flashy clothes, unfortunately his success was brief and after a few more failed singles it was back to the drawing board, Roy had upto 6 luxury cars and motorcycles at anyone time.
Sure he may have been humble about it, but he loves that kind of lifestyle.
You don't buy a $40,000 solid gold Rolex to tell the time, you buy it because it's expensive and it makes a statement

I think your right about Barbara ,she was his manager at that time. She loved Roy and played a big part in his comeback and keeping his legacy going after his passing. I've heard she was fierce at protecting Roy a real TIGER wife.....

@@adrinathegreat3095Roy grew up in extrem provety, during the great Depression . Just like Johnny Cash and Elvis Pressley, He did without for a while and when he was able ..he enjoyed the fruits of his labor ,He was also generous with his gifts .

@@adrinathegreat3095 I don't think it is impossible to be wealthy and humble at the same time. Sure he was successful and rich but he retained his gentle aura and personality and humbleness all the same. And that's amazing. And I really don't think he bought things to "make a statement". Sounds ludicrous. Some folks may think like that. Others buy things that may be expensive because they have a genuine appreciation and desire for it. Not just to boast with wealth. Roy strikes me as that type of guy.

Btw cars.. Roy was well known for stopping cars in the traffic and buy the car he saw and wanted for his collection. I imagine that slim man in dark waving a driver and in his high voice saying "wanna buy your car, fellow!" haha!

One of the saddest parts of this video is the part where they show Roy Orbison working out and the narrator says the Roy Orbison is looking forward to a long life. To realize that he died in 1988 at the age of 52 from a heart attack breaks my heart.😧

Roy Orbison, Elvis and country music artists are the only ones that didn't sound dreary and depressing during the wayward hippie 60's.

Roy gave me the only bad habit I’ve ever had in my life-smoking a cigarette after a workout😆 I’ve since quit that habit, but damned if I, even after running 10 miles, still don’t get the urge to light up one of those filthy death sticks. I loved Roy, but I know he’d have stuck around a few more years had it not been for the smoking.

I recognize your spelling errors when you´re upset. ;) Roy mentioned "I just like to be remembered". It worked. :) I never met him, so I cannot say I miss the person or partner or friend. I miss his music, id est: NEW songs. I heard everything and even more for 20 years now. This is what makes death so crappy: Nothing new from the person, no jokes, songs, voice, interviews, scandals, fun, nothing. Sigh...
