This video could use the instructions before the stitches instead of after. I like to crochet along but I have to wait, like for the first chain that gives the # of chains after they do the chains, More specifics at the beginning of a section would be helpful. For example when the pattern starts the half double crochets after the chain it just has on the screen “HDC” and doesn’t say if it’s all the way down, or for a certain # of stitches. So I had to wait through the section of the video before starting to make sure I didn’t do too many HDCs.

It looks like 2 strands of crochet cotton held together, chain 60 then 3 then hdc across row 2. You can probably make as many rows as you want. The bead looks small, you will have to try different sizes until you find the one that looks best.
You say these are 5mm but I ordered 5 mm beads and yours are much bigger! Was 5mm a typo or is there a measurement difference (different abbreviations/different counteries maybe?) My beads are so tiny I can't even fit a needle through
