How should you transmit?
Wait for previous instructions to be fully completed
Then press the push-to-talk button and talk!
Make sure your PTT button is fully released after talking
How NOT to transmit:
Do not transmit while other people are talking!
Do not transmit in the middle of an instruction: it has to be fully completed! So, ATC gives instruction to other pilot, other pilot replies, only then you can transmit!

I flew the OMDB-EHAM event yesterday and I wish more people saw this video. There were several occasions where more than one person was talking so I essentially was late for departure by 40 minutes because I was waiting for everyone to get their stuff

How do you configure the PTT button
Yeah I would think one tip would be wait for like 3 seconds of dead air or so if you can before transmitting. I've yet to use vatsim but am abuot to today hopefully. I am concerned I have to know every frequency for every airspace and type of atc im goign to use/travel through. Is this the cae? I guess I'll find out. going from buffalo ny (KBUF) to KBWI, Baltimore. Love Schipol it's such a nice airport ... hope to visit Zandvoort someday soon. I need a vacation lol. Well, when it warms up a bit. Sorry my keyboard's input detection is so bad, creating many typos.

Can someone explain why there is active and standby frequency thanks
You use the standby box to tune a frequency beforehand so you can simply press TFR to switch to the next frequency.

So what are you using to fly now? I see a saitek pro flight yoke and I'm guessing maybe 1-2 throttle quadrants ? Maybe ruder pedals.

Hallo, ik had een vraagje. Ik heb namelijk nu PMDG 737 NGX maar ik wil livery's installeren maar ik heb geen idee waar ik die moet downloaden en die via de livery manager in mijn game stoppen. Dus ja dat was mijn vraag :D

Instantly? i never really thought about that .. do the freuqncies in the Mhz ranges they use travel at the speed of light or the speed of sound?
Yes, well pretty much instantly compared to voice over the internet. Radio waves travel closely to the speed of light in vacuum, but in air it might be a bit slower but in practice this is not noticable since you will be talking about microseconds. Will make a video of this soon actually, using some real VHF radios, so stay tuned :).
Question: Are you able to update your nav data in your 747 V2 with the current AIRAC from Navigraph or NDP and if so, how? From what I've read Aerosoft has put their support on the back burner and I believe iFly is still planning on getting support from Navigraph but that was well over a year ago.
I don't know about Aerosoft, but as far as I know Navigraph still supports iFly so there should be no problem ;)
I''ve tried updating the airac through navigraph's fms data manager but when i load in the ifly 747 its still showing the 1506 airac... is there more specific folder the nav data needs to go in?
Did you run the installer as administrator and select the proper flight simulator? It should install into the proper location automatically.
Have you never tried or know what is FlightGear?
+panninidongo 146 I have never tried it, but it does not look very realistic in my opinion.
I am an S1 in the UK and it's actually quite annoying when they talk over!

1 thing that I want everbody to remember is that while you are in the United States ( I dont know about Canada and mexico thats why I did not say North America) You *DO NOT* Have to call for push back. annoys the hell out of controllers.
Haha, that's true. We don't have ramp controllers here as there are in the US. The ground controllers here actually control everything that is moving on the ground, hence they also control aircraft which are pushing back.
Sometimes the ATC's mic sounds like he's sticking his head out of a car going 170mph. What do i do when i cant gear him ? And is everyone an Alien ? How do they understand him

What button is the mic button?
It's not functional in the sim itself, but you can set a Push-To-Talk key in your pilot client if you are flying on VATSIM.
AviationPro I'm new with vatsim, I'm not sure what button is the button to talk? I have xsquawkbox downloaded and working. Is the mic always open?
No the mic is not always open of course, that's why you need to set a PTT key. I'm not familiar with Xplane and xsquawkbox, but I'm sure there must be a way in xsquawkbox to set a PTT key.
