I think prize figures have seen a lot of improvement in recent years. Not long ago I purchased a Taito Miku Puss in Boots Wonderland figure and for the price she's amazing. The sculpt, coloring and quality are excellent. Even the base is really nice. If every prize figure delivered quality like this, I wouldn't hesitate to buy more of them, but, in general, I still prefer scale figures.
I have been "conscientiously" keeping myself away from prize figures, simply because I have "no more room in my room." I keep telling myself: every last inch must be reserved for premium scale figures! With all that said, I can appreciate a good prize figure just like anyone. Taito prize figures are probably my favourite. I notice every time I visit the local figure stores, every prize figure that catches my eye is a Taito. That sleeping Pikachu is so cute! I don't know if it was an impulsive purchase, but I say it is totally worth it! :D
I've been collecting for almost 4 years now and have a love hate relationship with prize figures XD I feel like the designs for prize figures tend to be really nice and their price is spot on, but imo their quality just doesn't stand up to the scales in my collection. For example when I pair prize figures with my scales on a shelf they always look odd or out of place. My solution was to keep them separate on their own shelf but I just couldn't shake that they looked different when comparing to the scales, I ended up selling all of them except for two taito mikus as they were gifts and have sentimental value. Overall I think prizes are great especially for people who don't have the income for scales but they just dont do it for me anymore. Love the vids!!!
I collected prizes back in the day when I had not much money, a year ago I sold most of them. However there are like 5-6 that I just can't say goodbye to. Like the SEGA SPM Gray or Taito Coreful Kurumi. I really love the Taito Coreful line, their Nanachi figures are amazing now. I bought two and gave up on buying any Nanachi scale ever, thats how good they look.

Also,I remember you had pre-ordered that Bakugo from the S-fire line,so that figure might tell what the quality for the other would be like!
I was given an FGO prize figure (Furyu noodle stopper Nitocris) as a gift, and was VERY surprised at how nice it looked! I guess it's coz I never expected Prize figures to look even decent but this changed my perception of them😂Since I'm very much an online shopper for figures (buying them instore retail is always way more expensive), I don't get to see the display units very often so I get iffy when buying these. But ngl, I really do like the quality on certain Furyu, Ichiban Kuji, Taito, and Banpresto ones! Hoping I can get some more furyu noodle stoppers in the near future ;D
The dreaded prize figure gift! As someone who's very limited to space and money, most of my figures are prize figures. I have the Ram and Rem in the penguin hoodie. I'm such a sucker for animal hoodies, just so gorgeous. There's also an Emilia coming up for this set as well. I can't wait. ^^ I am quite happy with the quality of prize figures.
I haven't been getting Rem prize figures as of late since there hasn't been much that caught my interest. I still think Taito does the best Rem. And with various prize figure powerhouses such as TAiTO and SEGA with their high-quality figure lines such as Luminasta for SEGA and Artist Masterpiece and AMP+ for TAiTO, you can afford to buy a fig for your husbando/waifu without expending an arm and a leg... I gotta recommend TAiTO's AMP+ Mai Sakurajima for you to check out!! Even though its on the more expensive side of prize figures, I think its an absolute banger!! Good video as always 😊😊

If you want top tier quality prize figure line like for TAITO - i would suggest checking the AMP (Artist Masterpiece) for SEGA - try Luminasta i belive its there line to counter TAITO AMP and for FURYU - try TRIO-TRY-IT line. Lately TAITO prize figure been upping their game esp the Date A Kurumi really looks amazing and their Elaina too...also TAITO releases amazing figure which some arent mainstream esp in their COREFUL line which i really like and appreciate it.😊
I got a few from Banpresto when I first started collecting about five years ago and thought they were not too bad overall. I did noticed after a few years that the lines of the mold showed up down the legs especially. I think I have only kept two. It would have to be something I really love the design of and/or a character I may want more of for me to buy. Taito seems to be popular choice from people.

I have a few price figures in my collection, mainly of characters that either don't have a scale (yet) or that I just don't like any of the scales of particularly much. I especially love my Nanachi price figure by Taito, she's adorable. Price figures have increased in quality significantly over the years, too. Some of them look really nice!
All figures in general (nendoroids, scales, prizes, etc.) have seen so much improvement over the years. And as someone who does buy and collect a good number of prize figures, I would say it's just a matter of selecting very carefully which ones you'll buy. If you get the right ones, they have decent to very good sculpt and decent paint job. They also don't RIP your wallet for characters that you may not even fancy all that much.
Haha I've even skipped some scales before but for prize money i might just end up collecting everything... Seen other Rem collectors online and they basically have every prize of her imaginable... 😅
I mainly collect prize figures and order scale figs for my favorite characters. Quality can be an issue, but have been seeing improvements in newer releases. Ichiban kuji are also good figs to collect.
I usually always collect prize figures mainly because they are cheap and pretty good quality for the price. It's nice when it feels like you can buy a lot more figures that are close to the same quality as scales for less than half the price.

It definitely seems like prize figures are punching above their weight class these days, great pick ups. Personally I don't pick up prize figures, figma or nendo simply because I don't want to 'distract' myself with too many choices which just makes me poorer haha 😅 but I would love to pick up some nendo at some points to complement some of my figures. On the other note, looking forward to your next 'overhaul' video. Would love to also see your fav pick up list of 2023 as we come close to the end of the year.

My collection is a toss up between scales /mini figures and prize figures ...... my fav prize figures are the Masterlise one I just ordered Byakuya Kuchiki & can't wait to get him the detail on him looks so nice I also got the Beyond the Level G5 Luffy Ichiban which is super nice.... wish it was a hair bigger but I will live with it
My best friend is a Rem fan so he has a whole detolf dedicated to rem and ram. Some of it is scale figures but most of them are prize figures. So whenever I see a cute set I think he would like I buy them for him I did recently get him the penguin ones and he loves them. I would say if I character gets a lot of prize figures there is a very good chance you will find some good ones.
Hey DTTC i honestly prefer prize figures and why? they are much more affordable than scales. I do think prize figures deserve a bit more credit,yeah they may not be the highest quality,but some of them are legit prety impressive in the quality they offer for a very good price,and they're a god send for a Ram and Rem fanboy like myself,since there's a LOT of cute prize figures of both of them

Try collecting Macross figures, they don't feel cheap and doesn't look like a prize figure, bc most of them have shading all over. Most Sega figures as well especially Miku.
The Taito "Artist Masterpiece" Line from taito is my fav prive figures also out of topic but why does genshin hardly release figure despite the game being so popular, most of the figure from them is garage kits, the money that they would make if they release a 1/7 scale for every single character would be out of this world lol, i mean players already spends thousands of many in their game.
I'll definitely have to take a look at that line! 😁 I have a feeling that Hoyo probably sees it as a big expense and just releasing new characters to roll on is more cost-effective? 😅
I've always found Sega prize figures to have really bad paint and finish quality so I'm pleasantly surprised that these ones were decent. Not enough to resolve my past trauma with the brand and get me to buy from them, but really happy for you haha 😊

I don't get many prize figures but when I do get them I actually tend to lean toward Sega. Out of the different ones I used to get when I started my figure collection a couple years ago, I was alwaya impressed by my Sega ones the most. But haven't gotten any prize ones in quite awhile as I have limited space and 1/4 scales coming in so 😅

The first time i bought a figure it was a prize figure, it was very small and looked cheap. I was so dissapointed that since then i have been exclusively collecting Nendoroids, however just a few days ago i saw a Sagiri (Taito) figure that just has to be mine, i really hope i don't get dissapointed of prize figures again. Also just wanted to point out that i started collecting seriously because of your videos

prize figures and even gashapons have come a long way, yes there's still room for improvement but it's definitely best bang for your buck. also, i've seen lots of youtubers who repaint them and they look really good
The only prize rem i dont like is the rain coat one. Her face on that one seem... off. But two figure that i think you'll like there one where you can have swimsuit ver of rem and ram holding like a tube floatie. There also a halloween theme witch rem.
Some of my prize figures are better then scales lol but i am pretty particular. (just to keep my wallet safe lol) Coreful taito line is usually really good. The taito arcade worker rem, one of my favs still
I feel prize figure gets a bad rep, they normally aren't too bad.... I would say its a good entry level for new figure collectors to get their foot into the hobbie. I have a few prize figures and a bunch of the hatsune miku prize figure aren't too bad. They are just sometimes hard to find, i'm sure there are sites that sell just prize figures. But a good entry level point for new figure collectors to start.
Personally not a huge fan of prize figures anymore, for every couple hits there's *literally* dozens of misses. I'm of the (probably unpopular opinion) that prize figures peaked around the mid 2010s. Lots of creative sculpts / intricate dioramas / actual effort put into paint jobs (even if it was just a simple black wash), even if the quality was usually worse and they tended to be smaller than they are now, you could tell the ambition was there a lot more often than it is now. Nowadays I only buy prize figures on a whim, very few of them wow me and if they do there's a chance that it's a rerelease of something that came out around 2013-2018
I've been won over by this recent batch of prize figures and I can't wait to collect a few more! Luckily, I've seen quite a few rereleases of older sculpts so maybe I'll grab something there as well. My biggest nono is getting prize figures in the characters iconic look/ design. Fun casual outfits and cosplay ideas are always welcomed tho! 😆
@@DTTCReviews Hell yea! My biggest no no for prizes are boring / static sculpts, so I don't really mind the outfit as long as the figure is creative enough. Since I know you're big on op, a figure like Scultures Strong World Luffy is to me a peak prize figure. Interesting sculpt, unique but official outfit, decent paint. great unique facial expression. Only problem is the plain black base but for people that dabble in customizing that's no biggie Really love your content btw, it's nice to have some bigger voices in this hobby! And the production quality is great 🤗

For prize figures, I find Relax Time and EXQ from Bandai, Luminasta from Sega, and TTT from Furyu to be the best and well-made line.

Hello from Canada! 👋 Unfortunately for me, my first figures were scales, but it sure would have been nice to start with prize! 😅
I do think prize figures deserve a bit more credit,yeah they may not be the highest quality,but some of them are legit prety impressive in the quality they offer for a very good price,and they're a god send for a Ram and Rem fanboy like myself,since there's a LOT of cute prize figures of both of them

i have primarily Banpresto Figures but i love how they look like straight out of the Anime 😊 im on my way to collect all the One Piece Movie Red Figures because i love the outfits and the movie 😊😊💖

Try collecting Macross figures, they don't feel cheap and doesn't look like a prize figure, bc most of them have shading all over.
Most Sega figures as well especially Miku.
Macross designs are so beautiful, I'm considering adding a Sheryl Nome to my collection soon... 😆
The Taito "Artist Masterpiece" Line from taito is my fav prive figures also out of topic but why does genshin hardly release figure despite the game being so popular, most of the figure from them is garage kits, the money that they would make if they release a 1/7 scale for every single character would be out of this world lol, i mean players already spends thousands of many in their game.
I'll definitely have to take a look at that line! 😁 I have a feeling that Hoyo probably sees it as a big expense and just releasing new characters to roll on is more cost-effective? 😅
I've always found Sega prize figures to have really bad paint and finish quality so I'm pleasantly surprised that these ones were decent. Not enough to resolve my past trauma with the brand and get me to buy from them, but really happy for you haha 😊
Haha I don't blame you! Quality is a bit hit or miss on Rem prizes but I'm glad these were good! 😅

I don't get many prize figures but when I do get them I actually tend to lean toward Sega. Out of the different ones I used to get when I started my figure collection a couple years ago, I was alwaya impressed by my Sega ones the most. But haven't gotten any prize ones in quite awhile as I have limited space and 1/4 scales coming in so 😅
Haha yeah, Sega seems to have some of the cutest designs! Quarter scales get priority! 😂

Either one is good, the main benefit for Solaris Japan is the customs declaration slider. ;)

The first time i bought a figure it was a prize figure, it was very small and looked cheap. I was so dissapointed that since then i have been exclusively collecting Nendoroids, however just a few days ago i saw a Sagiri (Taito) figure that just has to be mine, i really hope i don't get dissapointed of prize figures again. Also just wanted to point out that i started collecting seriously because of your videos

I collect a lot of one piece figures, mostly of pre timeskip nami since her newer figures are always too much for me 😭

prize figures and even gashapons have come a long way, yes there's still room for improvement but it's definitely best bang for your buck. also, i've seen lots of youtubers who repaint them and they look really good

The only prize rem i dont like is the rain coat one. Her face on that one seem... off. But two figure that i think you'll like there one where you can have swimsuit ver of rem and ram holding like a tube floatie. There also a halloween theme witch rem.

Some of my prize figures are better then scales lol but i am pretty particular. (just to keep my wallet safe lol) Coreful taito line is usually really good. The taito arcade worker rem, one of my favs still

I feel prize figure gets a bad rep, they normally aren't too bad.... I would say its a good entry level for new figure collectors to get their foot into the hobbie. I have a few prize figures and a bunch of the hatsune miku prize figure aren't too bad. They are just sometimes hard to find, i'm sure there are sites that sell just prize figures. But a good entry level point for new figure collectors to start.
Yea I agree, these are a beautiful gateway into the hobby! Mixing it up every now and then for a season collector isn't so bad either! 😆
Personally not a huge fan of prize figures anymore, for every couple hits there's *literally* dozens of misses. I'm of the (probably unpopular opinion) that prize figures peaked around the mid 2010s. Lots of creative sculpts / intricate dioramas / actual effort put into paint jobs (even if it was just a simple black wash), even if the quality was usually worse and they tended to be smaller than they are now, you could tell the ambition was there a lot more often than it is now.
Nowadays I only buy prize figures on a whim, very few of them wow me and if they do there's a chance that it's a rerelease of something that came out around 2013-2018
I've been won over by this recent batch of prize figures and I can't wait to collect a few more! Luckily, I've seen quite a few rereleases of older sculpts so maybe I'll grab something there as well. My biggest nono is getting prize figures in the characters iconic look/ design. Fun casual outfits and cosplay ideas are always welcomed tho! 😆
@@DTTCReviews Hell yea! My biggest no no for prizes are boring / static sculpts, so I don't really mind the outfit as long as the figure is creative enough. Since I know you're big on op, a figure like Scultures Strong World Luffy is to me a peak prize figure. Interesting sculpt, unique but official outfit, decent paint. great unique facial expression. Only problem is the plain black base but for people that dabble in customizing that's no biggie
Really love your content btw, it's nice to have some bigger voices in this hobby! And the production quality is great 🤗
