PLEASE READ - Update. After speaking to Sena, the Vibe system can only be paired with other newer Sena units utilizing their open mesh network. You will not be able to pair this unit with other communicators (Cardo, Uclear etc.)
I just installed the Vibe in my and my wife's helmet. The blow up ring is to place the helmet on while working on it. So you don't need to use a shirt to protect it. ;) The hardest part was snapping the charge port into the back trim piece. You have to put your thumbs next to the charge port and push real hard, I mean real hard and it will snap in and become flush. Can easily flip the rubber dust protector out of the way when you want to charge it.
I don’t have the communication setup on mine, but it worked well on the 40 miles inbound trip at 5°F. Unfortunately I tossed it to my buddy to get my sled unstuck during the last half mile of trail breaking in the dark and he dragged the cord and cut it. The cords are $60 which is $20 cheaper than the Oxygen ones at least. I ordered two so I’ll have a spare next time. Honestly the ride out at 10° F wearing goggles and balaclava was fine. Tossing the inflatable ring it comes with and then grabbing your shirt to put underneath it to work on it made me laugh! I appreciate the vid though! Cheers!
It’s a nice looking helmet! I think I would miss the ability to crack the visor just a bit on those warmer days like I can with my Oxygen. Hopefully they have improved the ventilation on these compared to the Oxygen. Great job with the video!
Tough to say just yet. The nose piece has a very big vent on it and allows for a lot of adjustment to airflow. I think this is one of the main design features that's unique, where as all other helmets have very minimal ventilation. Thanks for watching and glad you liked it! Cheers, Mike
Nice looking helmet. I've had my mission since it came out and love it. My only regret is not getting the carbon fibre version because it looks so cool! Looking forward to your comparison to the mission this season.
What was the black connection on the vibe that's on the side with the microphone (right) that doesn't appear to connect to anything? I have the radiant version of this helmet and only had the red connection you said was for the e linq. My helmet supposed to have another black wire and missing?
Are you guys going to try and get a 509 Delta V Commander? Sounds really promising - seems to have copied the Mission's airflow design, integrated Cardo (don't have to buy it separately), available in carbon fiber. Curious to see how much you can really control via the Cardo app - just the comms or also the heat etc. Only downside I have seen so far is no sun visor (and no peak it seems) - that seems like potentially a dealbreaker to have no ability to mitigate sun other than changing the entire front shield to a shaded one.
Hey Brian - we have the new Carbon version of the 509 Delta V Commander on order. Had a chance to try one on at the show yesterday and talk to the guys at 509 about it and its a really nice lid. Can't wait to get it and we'll obviously have some videos done on it. Cheers, Mike
Thanks for the video. 🙏. I have the same helmet, haven't purchased the Vibe yet( also have the same Renegade XRS 900 Turbo R, Silver with SS & the 10.25 as you-picking it up Saturday😎) wondering if you know whether the wife's Cardo Bold with mesh with the Vibe if I set up the Mesh? Cheers, Greg 28:21 P.S.- Sorry I missed the update
Hey Greg. Yup - won't work with your Cardos unfortunately. Sorry about that man - we are really upset about that as well. You should check out our knee pads for your 900R. Mike just installed the grey ones on his and they look awesome! We also have in black and in three different patterns (diamond, honeycomb, and brushed). As always we appreciate your support man. sledaddicz.com/products/sledaddicz-protective-knee-pads?variant=41274009288797 Cheers, Jesse
Hey Chris! Yup. We have one on order that is supposed to ship in November. Stay tuned for videos on that helmet and of course we will do a comparison later on in the season! Cheers, Jesse
What cord comes with it? Same as the Oxygen or something different? Also any details on the venting? I think that's the big change in this helmet from an Oxygen which is arguably the downside of the Oxygen (minimal airflow which leads to condensation build up for heavy breathers). Odd that the shield can't be cracked without open0ing the entire front of the helmet up, but if the venting is superior to what we have seen in past helmets on the market it might be a mute point.
It's a different cord compared to the Oxygen but you are correct in that the airflow from the nose piece looks like a significant design change. If it works as it should, no adjustments with heat will be necessary. Cheers, Mike
Could be wrong, but I think this will be like the linq sleigh. Great design, but won't sell like it could as its priced at double what it should be. $1200 with comms I could see it. Not $1700.
Temp control seems like an issue, no control on the cord like the oxygen. Go over to the skidoo video and the guy says” to control the heat just unplug it” so no charging for comms, or rear light if you do that.
I'm not 100% on this yet and need to do some testing. I also rarely changed the temperature settings on my oxygen - more of a set it and forget it for me because I found the hottest setting just way too hot. The venting through the nose piece on this helmet is a lot better than any other helmet I've seen on the market, and that's where you adjust the airflow into the helmet. If it works as I'm thinking it should, it will allow for a lot more air flow adjustment - hence why Skidoo isn't give you the adjustment anymore. We'll see how it works once we get some miles on it but could be pretty neat. Cheers, Mike
I think the com charges while connected to power so as long as you ride plugged in it will charge and you theoretically will never need to charge it with the port on the back of the helmet. If that’s true then you will never have batteries freezing on you and you could communicate for as long as you could ever want. For me, that would solve all the problems I have ever had with the cardo. Tempting… (I do 16 hour days in -25F and my cardo just can’t do that unless plugged in.)
Yes that is precisely the idea. This is really designed for the high milers and this feature of not having to charge is a game changer for those who appreciate comms. Can't wait to try it out! Cheers Mike
@Boingdande to charge the communicator if you choose not to plug in the helmet while riding. That way you can have comms. If you are powering the helmet from the sled you don't need to charge the comms. Cheers, Jesse
I just looked further into this.. The smh10 is an older model that also has bluetooth intercom. The vibe has both bluetooth and and mesh 2.0 intercom so yes it will work. You will just have to change the intercom mode on the vibe to bluetooth. Hope that helps! CHeers, Jesse
You guys do a review a month before the season started and now that the season is been going for 6 weeks you haven’t updated how it really works or how you like it
Hey Dennis. Calm down lol. The initial thoughts video on the Advex is coming out this coming Monday at 4:30. We have had it scheduled on youtube for over three weeks. We record lots of content and we release videos twice weekly from september to may so we have to space things out and schedule videos weeks in advance. We will also have an end of season review coming comparing a bunch of different helmets either late march or likely early april. Cheers, Jesse
Visor doesn't open and can't control the heat for more money ? Why wouldn't brp just improve on the oxygen with updates that current owners can use. This is more for riders of the brp spyder. Keep it there with them
I hear you - just not sure I'm 100% on this. Firstly, I never used the heat settings on my oxygen. Found the highest setting way to hot, so I put it in medium mode and essentially never touched it after that. This helmet has a big vent on the nose piece that looks like it allows for a lot more air flow. If it works as it should, that's probably the reason Skidoo got rid of it. Need to get some miles on it to see how it works, but the I'm thinking that it will allow a lot more airflow than any other closed-face helmet out there. Hope that's the case. Cheers, Mike
I agree great looking helmet ,awesome technology.but really no heat control.kinda pricie for how many days out of the year you really wear it.will stick with my oxygen.
Totally get it - but we need to try it before we can be sure. For me personally, the Oxygen was too hot on the highest setting and so I put it at medium and never touched it again. Didn't really find I needed to adjust it. This helmet has some seriously looking airflow adjustment around the nose and I think that's the whole idea to change the temperature inside the helmet. I'll have to try it out and see how it works, but it could be a nice design with improved airflow, hence not needing any heat adjustments. Hope this is the case. Cheers, Mike
Oxygen never did a carbon fiber. All Oxygen helmets are M forged. The one model that looks like carbon is actually the exact same M forged helmet with no coating. They are all M forged.
Sad you have to spend a crazy amount on the helmet and then buy their comma that they advertised a while ago that made it sound like the crazy expensive helmet came with it lol..
1895гр это по вашему лёгкий шлем? Покатайтесь с ним 7-8 часов и ваша шея не скажет вам спасибо. Человечество скоро на марс полетит, а BRP из пластика до сих пор шлема делает и никак не хочет карбон использовать.
Mike you would have saved me 1500 dollars if you said it's not going to connect to the Cardo Edge. I never would have bought the Advex and Vibe. My whole crew runs Cardo. Who designed the Vibe a third grader ? Awful.
Hey Ben. We sincerely apologize. At the time of unboxing we believed that was the case and there was no evidence to the contrary. After investigating it and speaking directly to Sena we determined that you unfortunately could not pair to other company's communicators. Cheers, Jesse
I have tested many of the Bluetooth communicators. Great if your passenger is on the back of sled or your buddy is near you in an open field to communicate. But once you get into the woods and hills, it disconnects. A lot time wasted trying this technology. Very disappointing. I miss the 900mhz communicators. Now looking at 2way radios with a PTT button on the handle bar.
Hey man. I hear you but for us it's never been an issue. With all the miles we put on, we have never had issues. Ya if our group spreads too far apart it disconnects, but then once we get closer it automatically rejoins. We always ride in a group and are never too far away from others so 99% of the time we all stay connected. Cheers, Jesse
PLEASE READ - Update. After speaking to Sena, the Vibe system can only be paired with other newer Sena units utilizing their open mesh network. You will not be able to pair this unit with other communicators (Cardo, Uclear etc.)

Thanks, this provided all the info I was looking for and more!
Glad it was helpful! Cheers, Mike
That’s a serious helmet you’ve got there! Loving the cool tech!
Yup! We love the tech and looking forward to trying this one! Cheers, Mike
Ben here. Really enjoy all your videos ! Missed you at the Big East show. Please do a video connecting the Vibe to the Cardo Edge and Bold. Thanks 👍
Hey Ben! We already have a plan to do that soon! Ah darn. Sorry I missed u at the show. Thanks for watching man! Cheers, Jesse
Vibe does not connect to Cardo. Only SENA Mesh systems

Hey Chris! We will be there all day today and tomorrow. Cheers, Jesse

Any plans to review the delta v commander helmet from 509? Looks to be good competition for this helmet.

The charge port in the back is used to connect it to your home computer to update the Cardo to the most recent software.
Will the older smh10 scna work with this one
Not sure but the idea is really to use the new VIBE system with it, as it's designed perfectly for this helmet. Cheer, Mike
To clarify will the vibe system work with my with my buddies smh10
I just looked further into this.. The smh10 is an older model that also has bluetooth intercom. The vibe has both bluetooth and and mesh 2.0 intercom so yes it will work. You will just have to change the intercom mode on the vibe to bluetooth. Hope that helps! CHeers, Jesse

$1200 CDN for a helmet? Makes the Mission look cheap.
Yep and another $475 if you want the VIBE comms. Definitely not cheap. Cheers, Mike
Sad you have to spend a crazy amount on the helmet and then buy their comma that they advertised a while ago that made it sound like the crazy expensive helmet came with it lol..
Haha yup.. We were shocked too. Let's see how it actually works on the snow. I have a feeling it may just justify the price tag. Cheers, Jesse
