I took the high speed train from Guangzhou to Baise, then back again, spring of 2018. It was quiet nice, acutely. We had basic seats. Not terribly expensive either. I think the speed was in the 200kph range. The Putong train was much faster.
Yeah I took the Pudong one I know we cruised at 430+kph most of the time because they had the speedometer displayed to the passengers

Newer versions go around 150 kph and we call that "fast train" K for 快车, which is actually slow for our standards. So it is either a sightseeing train or a cheap train for rural places.
for those white ones going around 200, we call those 动车 with a D. The high-speed we use G for 高(meaning high)

The carousel actually has a function. It’s basically an ejection seat for the turret crew. They thought that it works fine in the airforce, so it has to work on ground as well, shouldn’t it? It’s even automatically being activated when getting shot

In more serious note, Soviet have research on where tank got hit most of the time. They conclude that it really rare that a tank got hit that low so they think that carousel is safe.
Now the new problem came, the top attack. Their solution (outside APS) is to put ERA on the roof, but we need to wait few years to know the how many that solution work or not based on what happened in Ukraine.

That lazer warning system in the ZTZ99A is really supposed to actually find the enemy that is locking onto you and then some how IRL blind the enemy that is trying to shoot you may it b e tank, helicopter or what have you. But Gaijin just doesn't have that ability i guess

Not sure if its made to blind the enemy gunner's eyes, but rather if GJ implements it, it will be made to confuse laser rangefinders and missiles/bombs' guidance system

I seen a drone footage of a Ukrainian tank pull up to a crossroads and fire at a T90 and miss, try to immediately reverse into cover but failed. The T90 then landed a solid engine shot on the Ukrainian tank and the crew all jumped out and scattered. It was like a live war fail meme.

In 2016 I travelled from Tokyo to Kyushu purely using standard trains. I'd travel from sunrise to sunset, getting off at every town and having a walk around before moving on. In the evening I stayed at business hotels near the station. Saw a lot of the country side and small towns most tourists would never encounter. Highly recommended and very safe. You can also buy a rail travel card for 300 USD which allows you to travel on any trains for two weeks without buying tickets.
The world would be so much easier to travel if every country had the same level of railroad infrastructure like China. Gotta give them that, their trains and extremely smooth railways are something else

Like LA used to have a trolley system and everything, but the car manufacturers didn't like it cause competition so they spun a bunch of lies how they were "unsafe" (despite cars being way worse safety wise). There are other similar instances of corporations harming local transport systems like that.
There's also just so many state governments that don't want to invest in transport, or don't want to pay to maintain existing ones. It's so frustrating when people complain "they aren't profitable" ignoring that it's a public service and the money being made is through increased societal productivity, which means more tax dollars.
It ain't that cheap. It was similar to plane ticket prices pre-covid. But sadly few travel anymore except for business trips. But it was really comfortable and security checks were way faster than airports

Reverse speed is super important for tanks in real combat. Tank crews are stating reverse speed basically dictates wins or losses on the battlefield in Ukraine in a lot of situations.
I don't recall that being the case in terms of crews saying that en mass. What dictates a fight is who see's who first. Reversing isn't going to save you from a 1800m/s APFSDS round for instance or a kornet missile
@@zeffy._440 That's why I said in certain situations. And it can save you from a kinetic energy round or a Kornet as these are both line of sight weapons. Reverse speed allows a tank to move from cover into a firing position, shoot and then move quickly back out of sight. At long ranges especially this can make it difficult for another tank or an ATGM to target that tank and fire before it goes into cover again. Even if another tank does fire it takes several seconds for the kinetic round to reach the target and by that time the tank might, I emphasize might, have moved back enough for there to be a miss or for a less critical area to get hit. For Kornet it can take many seconds for the missile to reach its target, at max range I think it is something like 12 to 15 seconds from launch to impact, so if a tank reverses quickly back behind cover that could also cause a miss.
Another thing to consider is that quick reverse speed can aid in being the first one to see the other tank. A tank that can quickly reverse behind cover or reverse and move to another firing position is more likely to maneuver on the battlefield, shifting positions, while a tank with slow reverse speed might choose to remain static and scan in position. A tank that is popping in and out of cover might get the drop on, see first, an enemy tank.
I might add that we are not talking about one tank fighting one other tank here, with both tanks being able to focus only on the other. There might be multiple tanks or armored vehicles on both sides, infantry, artillery etc. In such a dynamic situation quicker reverse speed offers a lot of tactical advantages.
I am not saying that reverse speed is the only thing that matters, or trying to overemphasize its importance, but it is very important in many types of engagements.
@@christophero55 Not quite when it comes to projectiles. You won't have any time to reverse and shoot someone who has an inkling of idea that you are there these rounds are incredibly fast
The time from shot to impact for kinetic energy penetrators is not the only thing to factor in. You say, an inkling of an idea that you are there.
Consider: A Russian tank pulls up to a tree line and gains a view ahead of it. An enemy tank is spotted to its left. The command is given to target this tank. At this moment the enemy tank fires at something and then begins to reverse into cover. The Russian tank traverses its turret and lines up the shot on the enemy tank. Let us say this took two seconds, so the enemy tank has been reversing for two seconds and the Russian tank is now firing at a moving target. The round is fired at a range of 1800 meters and travels 1800 meters per second (initially, this speed will decrease significantly as it flies to the point that such rounds have different penetration values at different ranges due to the changes in speed, but for the sake of this hypothetical lets say it travels 1800 meters per second the entire way) so another full second passes before the projectile reaches the target.
If the enemy tank was reversing that may effect the accuracy of the shot, not all shots are perfectly on target or exactly center mass. The shot is then fired and the travel of the tank in that one second may allow the enemy tank, with a fast reverse speed, to have moved enough that that shot may miss or hit a less critical area.
There are plenty of situations where the reverse speed wouldn't matter, but there are also many situations where it would. The nature of combat in Ukraine has been such that the reverse speed has been very important. This is especially true for tankers who KNOW their tank can reverse faster than enemy tanks and then incorporate this into their tactics.

It was the vehicle that got me my phirst nuke, and I’d like to see it and the ABUL/74 (specifically the 90mm) on the channel!

New ZTQ-15 light tank has a bustle autoloader, which from what I saw on Chinese news reports has a 6 second reload for 105mm shells. So when Gaijin? Its also exported as the VT-4, so could come with a premium version with its unique arms fair paintjob.
I think VT-4 is like an export variant of 96B isnt it? ZTQ-15 has not had an export variant yet. Correct me if im wrong, since its been a while since i last time following defense news.

Should definitely add a few maps that have two plateaus at the same height about 4-5km apart without many obstructions in the view, but in between them having hills and valleys at a lesser height, but enough to where if you would like to play your game down low, you are not always exposed, but do need to know the spots that the plateaus have a line of sight on.
I agree. They should map a huge section of Eastern Europe, with all the abandoned towns in the middle and big old forests in corners just for looks. Quite like the first map this game but flatter and with more fields and roads. Then add in a few really heavily fortified factories ( and a broken nuclear plant). I think the ongoing conflict really shows how modern tank battles will be fought. Also middle-east deserts would be a good map for tank battles. Just remove all the rocks from the sandy map and it's gonna be fun.
eh. China probably sticks with carousels on the MBTs to decrease size. However the current projectile length limit in the carousel is now hard limiting the penetrative potential of the 125mm sabots. So I think in the future they're going to have to either ditch the carousel or design a new one if they want to have longer rounds.
They already have a new autoloader on the ZTQ-15 light tank that uses single piece ammunition. I expect they'll use something similar or better whenever they get around to designing their next generation MBT.
@@duyataksis5210 that one is a smaller caliber and already it fits relatively few rounds. I don't believe they'll find this satisfactory for larger caliber projectiles, since it would fit even fewer. They would need to redesign it I think

Really wish they added PT-91M Pendekar, a Malaysian variant of PT-91 tank. I think the tank have a reversed speed around 20 km/h.

You can take a train trip around Europe. There are connections between any EU country, and some of those go through multiple countries. Most trains between big cities run literally like every 30min - 1h, so there is no real need to plan the whole trip, you only need hotels booked week or two ahead but thats it.

There would be two tanks with inpeneturable turrets sitting at both ends of a corridor unable to kill each other for the next 10 min until one of them gets bombed and the other is allowed to advance a few meters. That is called trench warfare.

The Type 99 series tanks are not actually based on the T-72. Well, the autoloader and the gun are. But not the tank as a whole.

Japan resident here. Trains? Awesomeness. I use them most days and never grow tired of it. And I'm not even a train guy. Train guys in Japan must carry a supply of clean undies with them at all times.
I think it would be cool if war thunder had one huge map for top tier where it's like dcs where you can just keep flying and randomly get into dog fights or long range fights

You should try the T-25 reverse speed, its an american medium that can basically go as fast in reverse as in forward and its not slow, i used to go too far down the hill bc id be going too fast..
