The year was 1970 stationed over in Okinawa in USAF on ARC- LITE. this song was played a lot in the bars off base near BC alley. Every time I hear this song it brings me right back there. Wondering if she would really wait for me. It guess it was not to be. Great choice of song and played well, with good vocals. Thanks for the memories.

I was in love with a16 year old girl. .My first real love. I went in USAF in 1969 and just before going off Okinawa my mom died in a fire. Soon after that my girl friend was with child. When over in japan, I heard she had an abortion. My world was crushed and like a plane out of control. I have been spinning down since. That was over 45 years ago. That's the short of it. So now you the rest of the story, and why this song means so much when I hear it TIME CAN DO SO MUCH,

This song is a constant reminder of a woman whom I've known for a good while now, but I fell for her a little after mother's day last year, she's in the USMC as a corporal now and doesn't want a serious relationship, more than likely avoiding the risk of hurt because we're 22 and the possibilities of anything happening are endless, but she's the woman I prayed for, and I'll wait for her until the day I die. TLC :)

Nate Davenport wow I didn't think I'd get a reply since this video is from '09! Thanks though man, we can't give up on somethin' that stays on our minds as we fall asleep and wake up everyday. There's only a few versions of this song that I like, this is one of them. Keep up the magic Nate.

This is the best cover I have seen of this song so far. I saw this cover like 4 years ago and attempted to play along with him but I did not know enough back then. I just re took playing my guitar again and this time I wont stop until I learn how to play like Nate. Anyone else knows if he has a clearer video? This is is great but a bit blurry
