So sorry this video is so long! Hopefully, you can play it in the background while cooking dinner or creating. Anyone who makes it to the end wins 2000 points. 😂
HAHAHA. That’s hilarious!! I love seeing your studio. I think I pretty much ask everyone this but can you please do a studio tour? I’ve gotten such amaaaazing ideas from other potters. I don’t do Christmas but of course im going to watch!
@@micheledickey4066thanks for watching Michele! I’ll definitely do a tour when I get my wheel moved in. Right now I’m midway through the transition. Thanks again for watching, bonus points for you. 😂
Sarah you did an awesome job don’t worry about the length you included everything which is great for all beginners and advanced, some people forget not everyone has clay experience, you showed it all! You rock I been doing clay many many years everyone has a process ❤ and the glazing was grand also clay on girl 💪!
I love watching you work. The best part was the new tail you made for the sea horse. I wouldn’t have had the patience. I would have put a small fish eating it off. Can’t wait to see how you glaze it.
Thank you for this tutorial. You inspired me to use more silicone molds. This piece is a beauty and i can't wait to see it glazed. A whole lot of work went into this. And it payed off; its gorgeous. I watched your whole vid. Your question about what more hobbies we like to do; well for me next to my potterie i like to crochet and i do that a lot. I love being busy with my plants in and outdoors. Also to drive around in my jeep and make little tours. Because of my work i do that in my spare time. I can't wait to go on pension so i can do all those things more relaxed.... 👋 Love Sheila 🇳🇱
That’s so nice, thanks for sharing. I can’t seem to keep my indoor plants alive. I’ve gone through two fiddle leaf ferns. 😢 My outdoor garden does much better.
Thank you for showing us the process in real time. So much details and patience to make. I hope to tackle one. I have ordered some more silicone molds. I make soap which I sell my soap and pottery out of. I also weave hats out of a natural fiber called lauhala. It’s picked cleaned, dethroned, flattened then softened before it’s cut into strips to be woven. It’s a labor of love but it’s what I have been doing since 1989.
This was wonderful Sarah! You are truly inspiring. Makes me want to give sculpture another try. The length of this video is a good thing, because it makes people truly appreciate the time a piece like this takes. A real artist at work. ❤
Thanks Jessica! I actually have a dupe for one but it hasn’t been moved into the studio yet. That needs to be next on my list, plus I wanted to show it can be done with just a basic rolling pin. No fancy equipment needed. 😊
Thanks for sharing very detailed I also learn by watching love you tube I make cp soap weaved rag rugs and polymer clay journal covers. All have been put on the back burner since starting pottery except soap. Soap is a little like glaze firing you never know what you are to get until it is cut
I’m thinking you are referring to the little puffs at the bottom. If so, those are actually a succulent mold. I could find the exact but it’s similar to this… a.co/d/il8lnl7 Hope that helps.
Don't like chatty videos, or music in the background. Your instructional video is well lit, and easy to see how you construct your ceramic piece Thank you
Oh my goodness, I know. So many molds. 🙈 The best tip I have is to let them set up a bit in the mold. Game changer for sure. Good luck, it was super fun to make.
Amazing, thank you for sharing. So much work and so much patience 😊 I don’t think I can do it. I made few quick trees with wrapping strips of clay around the cones and that’s it… now I’m thinking to add more next time lol I know what you mean with your boy and college… mine started this September and is turning 18 this Tuesday…. When did that happen 🧐 I tried gardening and failed 😅 but I love baking… I also played with resin and loved it but did not have time since pottery took over 😊
Hi, thanks for watching. I bought these particular ones at Hobby Lobby but I’ve seen them at Michaels as well. They are a paper/cardboard type material. Foam could work as well. 😊
I love this tree! I will absolutely try this. Thank you.
You're welcome! I hope it turns out beautiful for you.

This is such a big help! I have several of that type mold, and was having a hard time transferring them. Thanks!

Ah, you’re welcome, I hope it can inspire someone. I’m self taught by the internet community so it’s nice to pass it along.

@@PerrinPottery you are welcome.
Your trees are fabulous!! I am looking forward to see how you glaze them...that is always the toughest part for me. Thanks for the tutorial !
Eeesh, I know! I hope I don’t ruin it.

Thank you for the comment! I’d love to see your hats sometime. I think I know what you are referring to but I’m not positive.
Would looove a forest tree! That’s where I live, the north😊
I think that would be an amazing tree also! Maybe with a cabin and northern lights? Oooh.
What a beautiful tree Sarah! I love it, thanks for sharing!🤩❤️
Thanks Ana! 😊

You deserve a slab roller to go with the new studio space! you make nice videos. Jessica

Ooooh, that sounds fun. I enjoy watching polymer clay artists as well as ceramic. Thanks for sharing! Love this community. 😊
I love this! It’s so beautiful. Can you share where you purchased the molds, especially the one with the little barnacles.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I’m still trying to learn videography along with pottery!
I love your trees...they tell a story. You have inspired me to try the reef theme. Temu here I come...more silicone molds!
Oh my goodness, I know. So many molds. 🙈 The best tip I have is to let them set up a bit in the mold. Game changer for sure. Good luck, it was super fun to make.
Sarah, would you please show us step-by-step how to glaze the sea creature Christmas tree please??
Yes! It’s in line to be bisqued. Hopefully, I can get it done quickly. 😅
@ yay!!!♥️♥️♥️
Beautiful! I would not go lower than $90, probably start at $125
Wow, thank you for the suggestion. I hope my glazing doesn’t ruin it. Eeesh. No pressure. 😂
I love Christmas!

I’ve been meaning to try those strip trees. The glaze looks so nice on them.
They grow up way too fast. 😢
@@PerrinPottery yes it does ☺️
Can you share where you found the tree molds?

@ thanks! I went to Michael’s last week looking for wood ones, but only found foam. I’ll go to hobby lobby
@@JWPotteryWorksShe said they are cardboard.
