How to: Transport greenware pottery Safely! Update: they all made it not one crack!
Просмотров 10214 дней назад
This quick video shows how I transport my greenware pottery on a 12 hour drive back home! I’ve never had any major breakage, fingers crossed for this time! I forgot to mention that I place the containers on flat pieces of wood and use the wood to carry it around. This prevents any bowing of the container which would put strain on the pots inside! Hope this helps someone! #pottery #ceramics #han...

Pottery Glaze Kiln Opening - fun glaze combos!
Beautiful unload! You reminded me it’s time to start making for fall! Thanks for sharing!
On your mountain momma mug I think you should make it match the NC ornament! I do like the starry night spoon rest though!
I just absolutely love your pottery style and videos. It makes me happy to watch your kiln openings! I'm a new pottery myself and I am so inspired that you said you have only been doing this a year. I have so many questions! I would love to see a video of your work space. What kiln? What wheel? What forms for hand building? How do you have all these glazes? How much time have you spent a day practicing since you started? I'm so impressed! Thank you for sharing your beautiful work and ideas!
@@christinahubbard218you are too kind! After taking classes I found it too hard to get to the studio (homeschool mom of three) so I searched for my own kiln. I bought a small “baby kiln” off marketplace but quickly outgrew it. Then I found a bigger one on Facebook marketplace from a lady that was moving. It’s like 25 years old but still works so far! As far as the glazes, we don’t talk about how many glazes I have. 🤪 I made a small corner in the school room with shelves but I tend to migrate to the dining room table to do my glazing. My wheel is a cheapie from Amazon and is on our back patio. 😅
I love that you make the insides of your mugs so beautiful too.
Beautiful pieces! I love the sipping mugs! What a great idea.
Thanks so much! 😊
Gorgeous!!!
Hey Sarah! Love the sweater mug the button thumb rest is a great idea! Is it red the cranberry? Looks pink. Cobalt is too dark for texture if u go 2 coats it will be patchy but it’s a gorgeous colour! The blue hydrangea combo is so pretty like a galaxy. Ohhh so sorry about yr beautiful plate! Kintsugi lol. The ❄️ mugs r so pretty! Lav m des dusk looks metallic on camera! If the deer is raw clay or clear u can prob carefully dremel back the drip n reapply clear paint his face w black ug. Autumn purp sangria so pretty. Ohhhh that pink plate is to die for!! Lovely kiln xx
Thanks Nat. Yes, the pinky, red sweater mug is spectrum cranberry! Pretty color. So the desert dusk is a bit glittery, on both the cordovan one and lavender mist. Interesting.
E6000 girl---glue it or refire/glaze it---always worth a try and BTW that really is/was pretty thank you for sharing
Love the sweater mugs! Where did you get the texture roller?
It’s from deladesigngifts.com I’ll warn you, she has a lot of really cute stuff. 😅
@@PerrinPottery she does!
These are gorgeous!
Your art is beautiful ❣️
Some very nice pieces Sarah! I like the cobalt blue with hydrangea combo for the mountain mug. It looks like night sky.😍💙
It does, doesn’t it?! Thanks for commenting. 😊
Love the turtle mug! Do the sky and seaweed on the mountain mug. Then make another one and use the cobalt/blue hydrangea for a night scene.
That’s a great idea!
All beautiful, You have to do a 2nd mountain mug and use both to hard to choose
Haha, yes, that’s a good idea.
The Easter plates with the soft white glaze are gorgeous and I loved that the sangria on the flower ran a little (on the travel tumbler). I always look forward to your videos! Thanks for sharing!
Awe, thank you so much for your kind words! 😊
So many nice pieces! That Cordovan and Desert Dusk combo...NICE! GREAT sweater mugs. Still love that monstera plate. I will have to find that nativity roller. The mug is nice! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! I was pretty impressed with the desert dusk combo, it’s actually kind of glittery!
I love those sweater mugs!
Thanks! They are fun to make.
YAY!
Nice pottery. My wife's hibiscus just started blooming, she'd love the first one you showed
Thank you, love hibiscus, such beautiful flowers!
I laughed , too! Well hidden until the punchline!
😜
Lol. Sorry, I shouldn’t laugh but I love the music.
Can hardly wait to see the things you made while you were at your cabin.
Each time I vow to be more organized and put things away as I go. NOPE! Didn’t happen. 😂
OH YA! Utter Chaos!
Hi Sarah, that Beaver and bear mugs are so cute. Great kiln unload. ❤
These are amazing!
Thank you so much! I appreciate it.
That butter dish💕💕💕💕💕
Thank you!
Love it ❤
Good info
Glad it was helpful!
I’m sooo glad you made this video for us handbuilders. I tried one and it cracked. By the time I got it made the clay had set up too much! I love the wallpaper!!! My husband scored me a huge book of textured wall paper that’s paintable and I have used them for years! No one else will have those textures!!
Wow, what a score! I try to build with the wettest clay possible, but it can be tricky, especially in the heat!
Love it! Hey, that place looks familiar!😊
😂 Love you babe.
Awww...lovely to catch the essence of your happy place on a mug!
Thanks Audrey, it is my happy place. Built as a family to enjoy as a family. 😊
This is so satisfying to watch
Peaceful, beautiful
Very!
"I have an issue buying glazes...".... I REALLY understand that statement... Its ridiculous how many glazes I have compared to the feeble amount of work I've created.
Yeeeah, I may need help. 😂
As a guess for the one you didn't write down---How about Honey Flux, Power Turquois, and Indigo float or Turbulent Indigo--
LOVE the octopus mug!!!
Thank you!
How many layers of the cocoa mat shino did you put on your wood mug? I tried it on a rabbit and it came out rough and thin
I did three thick coats.
So pretty
Hi, Sarah! Love your tutorial. So far, I have thrown my sippers, but recently, I thought I might like to handbuild them using a jumbo pool noodle. That's one of my next tuts. I like your tapered effect. Most of all, I like your texture and sprigs! Very nice! Good luck transporting them home! 🙏
Thanks! I’ve been thinking about trying out some sort of support for the inside but never get around to it! Yes, I need all the luck getting all my pieces home as greenware. I managed to get everything home safely last time so I’m hoping for the same this time. 😊
@@PerrinPottery Ya, a support is so helpful, heh? If I think of anything for a tapered sippy that accommodates the shrinkage, I will let you know. Happy Vacation!
Very pretty
Thank you! 😊
So crafty!❤
😂 Thanks hon.
Thank you for this "how to" video, perfect timing, just made my first straw tumbler but the bends creased, now I think I know how to fix that after watching your video. Thanks again!
Oh good! I think for me the key is working with it while the clay is still pretty wet. Hope it work out for you, I can wait to get these fired and glazed. 😊
Looks like a fun project! I love all the embellishments 🍁🌺❤
I was feeling too lazy to do handles 😂. Thanks for commenting!
Very nice thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! 😊
Love these. Do you also have a link to the bear cookie cutters?
The bears were just traced out onto craft foam. You could do the same by finding an image of a bear and tracing it onto paper then cutting it out then transfer it onto craft foam. Hope this helps a bit.
What is the size of your pattern?
The mug template is 4.5” tall by 10.5” wide. But as you saw, I make it more like 11.5”. I like big mugs. 😂 The round cutter is a 4” cookie cutter. 😊
The mugs turned out so well. You are do blessed to have such beautiful background scenery. This video in the mountains and previous ones on a beautiful deck with pool in the background. Makes one fell like jumping in for a swim. I think your tutorial was excellent, everything was explained well. I could see and understand your direction and follow along easily.
Thank you so much. I’m definitely blessed to be able to spend some time away from the heat! Thanks for your comment.
OMG. That is a big paw print on your wall.
🐻
They are adorable
Awe, thanks!
Watched it! It was super! Love the mugs!
Yay! Thank you!
