What's so classy about Will & Cindy Palmer is that they encouraged Bertha to go go College. When John Fitzgerald's Daughter Rose wanted to go to Wellesley he discouraged her because his consultants felt it was too radical since they enourage woman to know that they could have a job and a family. She didn't go, instead she went to a Convent School in Europe which was one step above a Reform School.

That Will Palmer was such a "Classy Gentleman". He Rode in the pouring rain to pay a bill on time for his Boss and took over the Lumber Shop. Bertha was the "First" to go to College and she didn't even realize how lucky she was to be able to Read & Write unlike her Great Grandmother Kizzy.

What I meant to say is that Bertha was able to openly acknowledge she could read and write where Kizzy had to keep it a secret and paid the price when she Forged The Travelling Pass for Noah and got Sold Off.

Elizabeth her aunt was the first to go to college and became a teacher.

I stand corrected. Thanks for confirming it. Didn't Bertha also become a Teacher as well. Do you want to hear something that was so "Politically Incorrect". In the UK on a Soap Opera Coronation Street a Character named Eva Price said "I Got More Roots Than Kunta Kinte", she didn't know who he was or the Legacy of Roots. Needless to say, fans were furious and they had to apologize.

Kizzy was Bertha's great, great grandmother. Matilda, Chicken George's wife, was her great grandmother.

Yes, you are so right on. Then Olivia Cole, Leslie Uggams and Louis Gossett Jr., worked with each other on Backstairs At The White House where they were the first Colored Help to work for various presidents.

You know what's so sad. Girls Aloud a Popular UK Girl Group sings "Fame" at their Concerts but they have no idea of Irene Cara's past as an Actress. To many folks she was Coco Hernandez in Fame but they don't know she played such an Iconic Character about a Multi-Generational Family.

Will was a very smart man where he taught Bertha how to do the Books and if she wanted something from The Sears-Roebuck Catalogue she had to "save" for it. I heard that The Roebucks are distant relatives of The Staple Singers.

Bertha could have gone into Advertising. Also Simon indicated that it's not where you come from, it's where you end up.

Don't understand why this is shown only in these 5 minute segments. That's why so many facts have been distorted; people do not know what really happened and these 5 minute shorts do not help.
