Did you all find a Boat. Me & my wife have a sea ray 280 Sundance. So we are into boating as well. Your husband said the most important things at the end about doing your Research 🧐. That’s important
I don't know how long you guys have been boating. Have you thought about taking a PMT class (professional Marines Training class?) They teach you Everything about boats and boat handling to include docking 50 footers and Navigation. I took a class last August. Money well spent.
@@terrythenotarypublicexecns9271 I Took the 12 week PMT course, Stayed on campus in Stuart Fl. its 10K. ( Got my 100ton Masters) I had a couple in my class, graduate on Friday and sailed to the Bahamas on Monday.
first mistake, getting a surveyor reccomended by the broker. Do your own due diligence when finding a surveyor. I hope you made an offer based on getting a repower and reupholster. Say the boat was in the 65,000 range and you offered to buy at around 5k.

This is great content and great information for me that is interested in purchasing a 38 ft Sea Ray. I like that particular brand. I will definitely consider diesel engines now knowing they are more last longer and more durable.

As a former broker, the cost involves a range depending on length overall(LOA), # of engines and type, systems, market comps, and detail of survey such as C&V ( condition/valuation) specs. Always choose one who is a SAMS organization member. Good luck and congrats!
Sea Ray boats are fantastic! But please know that Formula, Doral, Wellcraft, Carver, Trojan, Chapparral, Four Winns, Chris Craft, Maxum, Cobalt, Donzi, Larson, Cruisers, Fountain, Rinker, Tiara, Crownline, and Monterey are also very worthy contenders in this competitive market! Happy sails!

FYI. if your or your husband are Veterans. The GI bill will pay for everything to include books. that's what I did.
