You're not wrong...his sound is intricate but not at all tangled up...the amazing stunning quality with these masterful creative gents is their prodigious output...they can't have had much free time to go to , say , a soccer match or visit a massage parlour...gosh !

Monteverdi s Selva Morale is, for me, the ultimate representation of sacred Renaissance music (just as i consider Handel's Op. 6 Concerti Grossi the ultimate instrumental Baroque collection). I have multiple copies of both the Monteverdi and Handel sets, and I can say that there's not a single track here that isnt the best ive heard from this collection. I've been listening to it on RUclips for the past few months, and finally got the CD box set a couple of weeks ago. Thank you to Brilliant Classics for giving the public such a massive library of wonderful collections at great prices!

If you transpose the word "really" to the meaning it had in the 17th century the answer is "yes". If you mean it with our current meaning the answer is "No: the artist never went to Jerusalem nor he had postcards or photo realistic ideas about the landscapes in the Holy Land, so he did what he thought best."

I remember Glenn Gould mentioning somewhere that music is to create a state of wonder, something like that. The funny thing is, companies who spend money on this kind of intrusive ad don’t realize that all the ad is doing is building up hostility on the part of the viewer or listener. Usually, I’m not even aware of the product, but if I notice who the hell the ad is promoting, I’m filled with anger and disgust, and usually decide never to patronize that company again.
