  • In this episode, we dig into the teardown process a bit further and continue to assess the Jag for potential issues while bagging and tagging all the take-off parts.
We start by stripping the exterior trim completely, beginning with the Webasto cloth sunroof. Upon further examination, it's in better shape than we expected. All of the chrome comes off next, leaving the question of whether to re-plate the brightwork or start over with new reproduction trim.
Inside, we remove all the woodwork and determine we'll leave the refinishing to experts in this specialized skill. With the seats crumbling, we set our sights on getting started with reupholstery as a possible next step.
Finally, we go back under the hood and discover that the previously rebuilt engine cranks and has oil pressure and compression, giving us hope for the future of the project.

Its great to see this car being restored to a second life, My father owned a 1963 Mk2, 3.8 Jag even now all these years on i think what a motor, It was a year old when he bought it, and he let me drive it as a 14 year old. WOW ! best regards Sisaket Thailand.

Great to see you undertaking this huge project. It will take some time to be sure, but its awesome that you can put a team of mechanics on the various tasks. There will be challenges ahead, as you know. Thanks for putting this up on RUclips !

Good episode guys, nice to have a description of what you've done. I think it would be better however, to have been able to watch some of that work taking place. Stripping the car is perhaps a bit boring I agree, but I do hope future episodes will take that format. I realise this would mean more editing work, but it would be more interesting and generate longer episodes. Keep up the good work, I've been looking forward this episode for ages, and now I'm looking forward to the next one.
