    I love the look of this video. The very upright, centered composition. The pastel colors. It feels like a Wes Anderson movie (which is high praise).

    The key phrase for any Fujifilm camera is "the lens lineup is getting bigger, SOME of them have very good autofocus." That's the frustrating thing about Fujifilm. AF performance is inconsistent lens to lens and will even vary more body to body. That's why I enjoy using manual focus lenses on Fujifilm instead. Predictability, reliability, and consistency.

    • @GeminiJamW
      @GeminiJamW 2 месяца назад

      Well the inconsistency you noted is more age related than anything else. Newer lenses focus faster. AF is pretty much the same across each generation.

    Super insightful video as always! One suggestion: add timestamps so it’s easy to go back and reference different parts :)

    I pretty much agree with you. I own both of these cameras. I love the Fuji colors and film simulations and Fuji's quiet mechanical shutters. The Zf is too loud of a shutter to use in the theaters. I prefer shooting Fuji cameras more due to their compactness and lighter weight. I enjoy shooting with the Fujis. They are fun to use. The Zf is also more fun than shooting through my Z9. Sometimes, I just need a full frame camera to get the job done. Nikons feel like a tough working truck, whereas the Fujis feel more like a sports car. Both systems have their place.

    Maybe the auto-focus on the X-T5 is much improved over the X-T4 but with the price of the X-T5, the cost of Fujifilm lenses and Fuji still having autofocus issue in comparison I've gotten rid of most of my lenses (1 left), my X-T4 and just my x100F left to be sold. I've happily purchased a ZF + 40mm for less money than I would have spent to purchase the X-T5 body only. I'm plenty happy with the feel, the color and especially the autofocus on the ZF. Extremely happy now whereas I was becoming pretty miserable with Fuji AF-C autofocus. Great comparison and as always, great videos.

    Thank you for this comparison video. Fuji, I believe most always, has the advantage with color. This is due to Fujifilm is a master with color processing from the film days…

      @@FramesTM Yes, and now I also thoroughly enjoyed this one! (I posted the comment when I clicked on this new review and hadn't heard yet what you had to say in the long term review.)
      I use an X-Pro2 with a manual zoom Chinese TTartisan 35mm f0,95 for night manual shooting with that rangefinder feel and an X-T4 with XF 27mm f2,8 for bright day photograhy (also a 18-55mm zoom). Every once in a while I am thinking what if I sold those two cameras and lenses and bought a ZF with a 40mm f2.0 and some fast vintage manual lens with a click aperture for analog feel night photography. But despite all those very reasonable arguments I can't make myself give up on the Fuji :)

    I traded my XH2 for the Z8, and I am extremely happy. I loved my XH2, but I wanted a little bit more, which I feel that I get with the Z8.
    The full frame allows me to zoom in on a picture and still have incredible sharpness that I could not get with the XH2.
    This by no means is saying that the XH2 is inferior because it is a very capable formidable camera.

    • @FramesTM
      @FramesTM  2 месяца назад

      Very true… what lenses are you using?

    • @technodronesogxl9783
      @technodronesogxl9783 2 месяца назад

      @FramesTM Right now I have the 70-200mm F2.8 Nikon lens which was on sale for 2296.00.
      I originally had the Tamron 35-150mm f2-2.8. I needed a little more reach and for 300.00 more I bought the Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 with better overall sharpness, more reach and image stabilization for the extra 300 was a better deal.
      I originally bought the Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 for the elimination of a smaller zoom to 70mm, but I felt that I needed more reach.
      I will get the new Tamron 28 75mm G2 F2.8 to fill in the low range requirements and the Viltrox 16mm 1.8 Nikon.
      I had the Viltrox 13mm 1.4 lens on the XH2 with the 16 80mm f4 the 18 55mm and the Tamron 150-500.
      My Telephoto lens will be the 180 600mm. I also switched for the lens selection and the desire to have a stacked sensor for video. If the XH2S would have been 40 megapixels I probably would not have switched.
      I got the Z8 for 3495.00 and the 70-200mm F2.8 Nikon lens for 2249.00

      @larrydiaz7156 2 месяца назад

      You are literally comparing a 2000$ camera with a 3500$ one. With that price difference you better be getting "a little bit more".
      The Z8 is a marvel.

    • @technodronesogxl9783
      @technodronesogxl9783 2 месяца назад +2

      @larrydiaz7156 Oh really, I wasn't making a comparison, my friend. I merely mentioned that I wanted a little but more than the XH2 offered, i.e., better lens selection and a stacked sensor, so I traded my XH2 for the Z8.
      When I say that with the full frame camera, I was able to get more detail when I zoom in on the picture, I was not making a comparison. I was merely stating what what "I" enjoyed about the camera.
      The 70 200mm f2.8 Nikon lens was the main reason for this as opposed to the capabilities of the cameras. I feel that 40 megapixels vs 45 megapixels is really negligible.
      I feel that the lens selection and stacked sensor was my reason for switching. I was thinking of adding the XH2S for video but would have 2 cameras in my backpack, so with the Z8, I got both cameras merged into one with a better lens selection.
      Both cameras would cost more than my one camera solution, so when the price dropped, I sold my Fujifilm XH2 and lenses and switched.
      Had Fuji made the XH2S 40mp, I would have bought that beast. Most everyone that bought the XH2 bought it for higher megapixels, wishing that the XH2S was 40mp.
      When both versions were introduced, this is what everyone was saying. Fuji could have just made the XH2S 40mp rather than split the line into 2. Then, they should have made the XT5 and XH2 one camera as well. Many people like Pal2tech thought this as well.
      There is no comparison being made on my part. You are just misinterpreting what MY thoughts were, bud. The XH2 is a beast of a camera.

    I have both cameras and both cameras gives me a slightly different photographic experience, even though the Nikon ZF is heavy and better built the XT5 has a port for wired remote, the dual cards are better than the ZF some of the lens selection is different and I don't know why you are having a problem with auto focus. I think with auto focus the choice of lens and how you set up the auto focus is important.

    • @FramesTM
      @FramesTM  Месяц назад

      The choice of lens should not be limited by AF performance. It’s not fair.

  • @ju2705s

    Nice Video, thanks. I have the x-h2 and think about Zf because Fuji AF is not good and I shoot a graduation ball of my son and 80% was out of focus! Few days before I set AF+MF option to on...that cause, that the camera will immediately shoot even without focus confirmed...even when you set the option for AF-C from release to focus priority or in AF-S. That cost me 400 pictures out of usability. 🤣
    No warning and I saw it to late on my minitor. ... Will never use this "bug" again.
    On Nikon the AF gets really good in comparison with older Z6ii or 7ii.
    So for me I can make a decisions now 👍
