My first comic was a "Captain America." 12 cents. Feb 110, in which he "assist" the army with a "Hulk" incident in New York and then takes on "Madam Hydra" in the sewers of Manhattan. The "Somebody get that kid a sandwich" line is actually from "Captain America" issue #1. Published in 1940.
The Expo that Steve and Bucky go to early in the film is the same one Tony referenced in Iron Man 2. You can see the same steel globe in the background. The first film product from the company that would become Marvel Comics was "Captain America" in 1944! It was shown in theaters as a 15 part "serial", with one episode a week. In those days nobody had televisions. Serials were typically shown before a feature film, like the newsreel Steve watches early-on.
So in The Incredible Hulk (2008), Bruce Banner was working with the U.S. Army to recreate the Super Soldier Serum that turned Steve Rogers into Captain America. Since the serum was lost after Cap disappeared in World War II, governments around the world had been trying to crack the formula. Bruce swapped vita-radiation for gamma radiation, which ended up turning him into the Hulk instead. So Hulk is directly connected to Captain America within the MCU. This origin is inspired by Marvel's Ultimate Universe, a new more "realistic and grounded" continuity that began with Ultimate Spider-Man #1 in 2000. In that version, Banner was recruited by Nick Fury into a think tank to recreate the Super Soldier Serum for S.H.I.E.L.D. Wanting to test his work, he experimented on himself, which led to him becoming the Hulk. In this universe, Spider-Man got bitten by an Oz-infused spider, which was Oscorp's version of the serum, while mutants came about because the Canadian government tried to create new super soldiers post WW2 but accidentally created a new mutated genome. Over time, that spread across the world, leading to the rise of mutants. Basically, the Super Soldier Serum was at the root of a lot of stuff in the Ultimate Universe, all tying back to Captain America. In the mainline comics, characters like Spider-Man and the Hulk don’t have any direct ties to Captain America. The only connection is that Peter Parker looks up to Cap, since he’s kind of the Superman of Marvel, an iconic, morally upstanding figure. But other than that, their origins are pretty separate. Banner became the Hulk after being exposed to a Gamma Bomb, Spider-Man got his powers from a radioactive spider bite, and mutants (Homo sapiens superior) aren’t government creations.
The comic Marvel's earth 616 James Howlett, Wolverine/weapon X is from the same project as Captain America. Steve Rogers is unofficially known as weapon I the first super soldier. Other characters like Nuke, Wildchild, and Cyber also came through the program that Captain America and Wolverine did.
What they do so well is flesh out their backstories and make it innovative and fun to watch. And they never cease in raising the bar for each Phase and then meeting it _hard_ -- reaction AND EDIT is top notch!
Yess i really appreciate seeing their backstories and how the actors chosen for these roles bring the characters to life. It’s gonna be awesome seeing them all together and their dynamic. Thank you so much! 🫶🏼🫶🏼
Yea-he always liked using a shield. He grabbed a garbage can lid and used it as a shield outside the movie theater…he still got beat up until Bucky arrived.
Hello Janey!😊 Spies were known to have cyanide capsules in a false tooth. Biting down hard would break the tooth and release the poison. In Later MCU films we find out exactly what the tesseract really is.😉 Many reactors miss that the cab door is foreshadowing the Captain's shield, good job! 😉This is definitely one of the stronger origin stories in the MCU. The Captain America films in general are well made!🏆Great reactions to this very well made film, Janey!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great reaction to an awesome movie! The three Captain America movies are all in my top 5 favorite MCU movies. They're all so well done! When I was a kid (long long ago) a friend of mine's dad was a big Captain America fan and had a bunch of the comics that he'd let us read some of them. They were really cool. 🙂 Just for the record, I think that your hopeless romantic sweatshirt is adorable. 😀 Have fun exploring the MCU! I've subbed so I can follow along. 🙂
Thank you! I can’t wait to see more of Captain 🤩 and awe that’s awesome, I’d love to get into the comics one day but there’s so many 😅 and thank you!! ☺️🫶🏼🫶🏼
@janeybun You're welcome! And, in my opinion, the best way to start reading the comics is to pick up the graphic novel collections that has several comics gathered together in one volume. There are the Marvel Masterworks Captain America series and the Essential Captain America series that cover highlighted sections of his stories back to the beginning. Even if you only pick up one or two it's a good way to get a view of the history of Cap in the comics.
Ummm if you read your history books they knew a Captain America movie was coming out in 70 years so there were some that wrote in English on their bombs so they could be used for inspiration. God, do your research.
The characters are speaking in English, so labels on things are also in English so the audience can read them. In films where a different language is used sporadically, a subtitle will translate when they want you to know what was said, and left off if they don't. It is a standard film-making tool.
I knoww im so sorry, this was my editors doing 😭 I would’ve told him to fix it but I was already falling behind in uploading this and didn’t want to bother him :/ moving forward ill be editing my videos so I promise this wont happen again loll
In the comics Steve Rogers drank a beaker full of chemicals and got immediately jacked. In this movie he gets jacked with a dozen shots of steroid juice and a sunbathing coffin LOL!
The First Avenger is on of the most comicbook accurate movie's. Adding little things like the Tesseract and Howard Stark to update it for the MCU is all that's really needed, you can take those 2 things out and the movie would still works.
IF you liked Peggy, (I'm at the 14:27 mark of the video, so you might answer that later on in the video, but I wanted to comment this now, incase I forget later.) you might consider watching some of the Agent Carter series recaps, or even watching the series itself. I enjoyed it :)
Hai! So I believe what my editor did was have my face cam as the top layer, and he would then just go back and forth with resizing the face cam. I hope this answers your question!
I understand, but as I said before.. my editor was the one who did these movies he probably faced a lot of copyright issues. I’ll be editing the avengers movie so I will do my best! :)
Most adorable new channel in years, but I came here to say that you said "what the fruit" for wtf, and that's the first time I've ever heard that used since a pastor from church used it as the 'G-Rated' interpretation of its normally known usage. That was epic for me
Im sorry!! It was more so my editor, if I had done the editing I would have left it loll but ill be more mindful of future videos as I will be the one editing my videos now :)
Captain America when he was stuck in the ice , he went in hibernation due to the serum. Thatwhy his is as same to that eay he crashed the plane to the ocean.
Cap is my favorite hero, for certain reasons, when watching the MCU. Glad you watching the franchise. I'm happy to see you watching more, keep at it sweetheart 😊
@ I appreciate your suggestion but I have films I’m currently watching and already a queue. If you want to make a request that’s uploaded within the month there’s a Patreon tier for that.
The tesseract is what Nick Fury showed to Selvig in the credits of Thor. Unrelated to the Frost Giants. But Red Skull did say it was in Odin’s treasure room He didn’t lose his skin. The imperfect serum he took disfigured his face The super soldier program is what they were trying to recreate that accidentally resulted in the Hulk
Nice reaction but the editing was trash! You should look into having someone who knows the MCU help you with that! Can’t believe you omitted so many iconic scenes!!! “I could do this all day!!” Good luck!
LOLL thanks for the feedback! and yeahh sorry about that, I did not do the editing myself so I will be doing the editing moving forward and see if someone can help me :3

Dang. Both you and Amber Reacts posted this vid on the same day. I get TWO reactions to Captain America, back to back!

Captain america will always be the best avenger..
Anyone who is willing to jump on a grenade for you is worthy of the best avenger trophy, and if only Tony could learn that lesson one day...

How you know all that is amazing to me
I really appreciate The Caption America
wish i could watch all these movies for the first time again.
I really think you're going to love the Avengers. The group dynamic is great!
34:38 😂💙 can’t wait to see your reaction to the rest
the fact that you're calling Red Skull as Schmidt which is his real name is a very unique reaction! 10/10
Ngl I had forgotten his villain name so Schmidt it is hahaha and thank you!! 🫶🏻
@@DS-bi3gu very!!! That stop when he went Solo! Red Skull

"K" icon in Schmidt car is for easter egg for agen K in MEN IN BLACK. played by Tommy Lee.
Yea-he always liked using a shield. He grabbed a garbage can lid and used it as a shield outside the movie theater…he still got beat up until Bucky arrived.
Was always a fighter never a runner 👏🏼
The shield showed up in _Iron Man 1_ as a background object in the “This isn’t the worst thing you’ve caught me doing” scene.
thank you! After reading this i went back and watched the scene hahaha
I do remember looking at Caption America And being he is so Brave And strong
Nice Reaction to Captain America The First Avenger Janey
Thank youuu :3

Always cracks me up that an Austrian scientist working in Nazi Germany labels his bombers using English.
Ummm if you read your history books they knew a Captain America movie was coming out in 70 years so there were some that wrote in English on their bombs so they could be used for inspiration. God, do your research.
Right, cause fantasy movies about comic characters is super realistic? 😂
See “Translation Convention”
