Imagine if this was still the same Chicago (CTA) band touring today, one of the greats, bless you Terry Kath, Bobby Lamm, and the rest of the band.
There are still 3 of the founding members in the band including Robert Lamm and they are as awesome as ever
@@twinkee1283 I still follow the band, I still buy the music, but there is no comparison.
Never in a million years! No comparison!: tour de force vs Force of ballads! Everyone is a SOLOIST vs The band is just mellow ! Regards!
Yea. Stating the obvious but once Terry left us and Cetera "took over" it just went to hell IMEO. Chicago was my first concert in "72 or '73. with my Dad, 15 yr old bro and my BFF, her and I were 13. We all just sat there in stunned silence. What an incredible start to my now long history of concerts. Started out at 5$ a pop. Saw Jeff Beck front and center by myself a few years back and paid $350.00. I didn't even wince (not like I've got money in any stretch of the imagination.. been a waitress for 45 years.. they always said, do what you love.. well, I am!)
I lived an hour north of NYC and won tickets for this in a radio contest.
I was just 14 and my Uncle Dave's friend's son accompanied me.
We had a terrific time.😊
The ultimate sound of Chicago! Like no other band.
....word.....
Love This? Classic Chicago 🎷🎺🎹🎤🥁🎸👍
Oh my! The energy and musicianship. Danny on drums, wow!!! And Terry!
and Walter, and Jimmy and Lee And Peter and Bobby!
@@holderlin13 For sure! In my opinion, the best band ever.
@@WolfCat5102 among some other Top Combos in the 70s......I will start with a supremo combo.....YES (Bruford on the essential Kit).....and then there was Maynard Ferguson's MF collection (I was witness (along with some of my fellow(esse) band amigos/as, in a High School Auditorium Venue in Tulsa..OK....)....lest we not forget Genesis.....and Chase (such a band and leader)....and last but not least....the Dan....Steely Dan....THE ORIGINAL HIPSTERS! all you present day wanna be Hipstas....take note...:)
Sizzling hot track. I can hear the distortion they were managing on the remixing on the vocals. But the rhythm section sound is bangin'!
I just checked the tempo of this recording vs. the studio recording. Live at Carnegie Hall: 137 bpm. Chicago III album: 125 bpm. That's quite a difference.
me gusta...serioso hermano amigo.....
Most bands, not all speed it up on live shows.
These guys were incomparable!!!!
Go, Walt Go!!!!! :). Bless him...
One of Kind Band!
Furious! Great stuff!
Rest In Peace Terry Kaith.
They still play this one as part of the encore to this day.
It's ok to play songs at different tempos.
Awesome
The best band . All my " jeunesse " !!
There's some serious "layin' down the law" here, my good people....Pete Cetera all over that elec bass, for starters....bad arse intro ....my goodness these catz.....
👍
Centers,s bass lines were awesome early on when he concentrated on it. But the the power ballads came and the ego got bigger than the planet.
Yep...he was a hell of a bass player up to 1975ish after which he started taking a different path as did the band and the entire music business. Too bad...........
Fucking A!!! Kicking some Ass!!!!
ROCK ON UKRAINE!
right on, sista....
Where's "I'm A Man?
3 thumbs down? Must be Ed Sheehan fans.
Sounds smushed. It is sad as this a great performance. Mega phone vocals.
When was this concert?
1971
Something is really strange about this mix.
Strange but interesting
I yhyh
Love the song....love the band.....but that tempo is ridiculously fast. Sorry to say, but Kath's fault. He counted off and set the tempo of every song when playing live. The thumbs down may be because of the tempo (IMO).
A great band but the sound of this remix is very fatiguing.
Yeah, this mix is very weird. I'm not sure, but it seems like they are lining up everything time wise in a timeline and it's loosing the 'feel' by artificially manipulating it to make it 'perfect.'
It's incredible; it's not fatigue it's pure wonderful talent!
