That turned out beautifully. I have a hard time looking at pictures of vintage knits and trying to imagine what they will look like IRL and how awesome they can be.
In the UK a cardigan has an opening down the front with buttons for fastening. No front opening, pull over the head to get it on - that's called a pullover. A sweater is American word meaning jumper but more recent times it can be with a zip opening. Love your channel and this cardigan is soooo beautiful.
Thanks for the link to the pattern! I love 20's fashion and that is a beautiful cardi! The colour is great 👍. As soon as i saw it i was like 'i want one!' lol 😆
I remember seeing ur dying film. So glad I got to see the blue (indigo?) item and this lovely sweater in pink with the matching (😊) white collar. Thanks for ur hard work.
Oh man I love a good knitting in one piece! I too am not a huge fan of seaming/sewing up knits, but I understand the appeal of it. More shaping makes it more fitted, more room to expand on the base knitted garment, and such forth. I think the only downside to knitting the entire body in one go is just that it can make it baggy/somewhat shapeless depending on the planned construction (ie Neringa Ruke's Balloon-sleeve cardigan). I'm very glad yours came out lovely! I hope your recipient enjoys it too! :)
This is one of your videos that I rewatch all the time. It's so lovely and soothing and the resulting sweater is so fantastic. I'm so jealous that you can knit the pattern sizes as is. I have to grade them way way up and the experimenting takes a lot of yarn for not necessarily a reliable result 😕
The construction of the body is very "modern", but all the sewing for the buttonbands is exactly what my grandmother used to do (I prefer to knit them along the body, but it has not the same firmness). That color 😍😍😍. Congratulations!
I must admit that the very early 20th century is not so much my thing, I'm more of a mid century chap. However, I am amazed at the quality of your knitted garments. It is simply wonderful to see such creativity! Please keep making your videos as they are a delight to watch.
What a cute cardigan. I have a 1920's knitted jacket that has a 'tapestry' motif on the hem and cuffs in a contrasting color that I want to try out one day.
That cardigan is so beautiful. I live in Napier NZ which is the Art Deco capital. This weekend just passed was Art Deco weekend, where everyone dresses up on their 1920’s gear. Your short sleeved version would have been perfect for the hot weather here. Lovely colour too, so soft and pretty. 🥰
WOW!!! What an incredibly beautiful cardigan!!! The colors are simply perfect! I love how you detailed the steps of knitting and assembling! It is so fascinating to me as a non-knitter! I'm in love with this! 💕💕💕
Thank you! You made a great video and a very lovely sweater! But on a side note- and possibly best of all- is your fabulous windowsill knitting spot!! I’m sure you’ve spent many happy hours there just knitting away!!
I love this color and also the style of the cardigan. I would be afraid to try and duplicate your accident, though. And I do have lots of woad growning in fields nearby. I have pH test paper, but extremely hard water, full of minerals. Guess I'll stick with commercial dye. The fiber I have the most of us angora rabbit yarn from my own bunnies. I think that collar would be amazing in that. Maybe the whole garment. Where might I find instructions for the blue color? I love indigo too. In fact I would choose these 2 colors from a vast array of colors. I wear so much soft pink & various depths of indigo, people tease me about it.
This is beautiful! You did a wonderful job. I would love to see more vintage 20th century knits from you. Your latest have been amazing and inspiring for me ☺
I know this is an old comment but if you see this, try looking for Annie Modesitt’s videos on Combined style-I believe that is the same! It’s how I knit!
I'm reknitting a 1939 or 1940 short sleeve jumper that I made last year, but it was too big. The green white sweater that you wear in some pictures seems very familiar to me, I must have the pattern some where in my collection.
can you do more sewing videos please love your style of editing and filming, also loved your lounge robe sewing video and sewing machine restoration video.
That came out amazing! The different colored collar looks totally deliberate, too! Since you asked, I don't think you were mattress stitching the side seams together - I'm not sure what the stitch you were using is called, either. (Mattress stitch is worked from the front and involves going under single strands of yarn with the needle parallel to the seam.)
It looked like she was just using whip stitch but I couldn't see enough of the sewing on the side seams confirm it. That's definitely what she was using on the button bands though.
I can't get the pattern link to work and I just absolutely love this pattern and tutorial and would love to make one for myself... please can you help me with the link...hugs Lynn Weasenforth 💯💜💛💙🌹
Hi I noticed you knit your knit stitches front to back in the back loop, so like the stitches are twisted differently on your left hand needle than what I suppose is the"normal" way of knitting? I just noticed it and was wondering about the whys and how
I noticed that she knits through the back loop too and that all the stitches are twisted. I was curious if she was doing that on purpose or that's how she knits (there is no wrong way, I think!) I love to watch how other people knit.
Oh how pretty
I definately wanna try this too.
Love the 1920ies Fashion
As someone who can crochet really well, but couldnt even attempt knitting to save my life, im really excited for historical crochet!
So fun to see another Combined knitter!
Right now I'm knitting a 1930s art deco dress
That is fantastic, those 30s dress designs are so beautiful! 😊
Zeffy, are you on Instagram or Ravelry? I'd love to see it.

I like that sweater and the way it's constructed!
Oh happy mistake! Thanks for posting the pattern this looks great!
I love this on you.....you should keep it...
Beautiful work!
Also, a cardigan is definitely a type of sweater. ;)

Do you ever discuss the idiosyncrasies of old patterns and how one compensates for same? BTW, the cardigan is absolutely beautiful.
I am surprised at how great that different collar color looks. The cardigan is gorgeous and I think the short sleeves might even look better!
Yay, someone who like 1920s patterns as well! I currently work on my 1920s Beaded Bag from Emma Post Babour
The construction of the body is very "modern", but all the sewing for the buttonbands is exactly what my grandmother used to do (I prefer to knit them along the body, but it has not the same firmness). That color 😍😍😍. Congratulations!

It looks fabulous we’ll done
Absolutely Beautiful!
I LOVE that color
This came out really lovely. And the color is so even, so you dyed it really well even if it wasn’t the color you originally intended. :-)
The cardigan is lovely! Almost makes me want to steal my ball winder back from my Mum and cast one on. I'm sure your friend will love it 😍
This cardigan is beautiful!! Well done! 👏
SO PRETTY!! Thank you 4 always including the patterns. I’m very excited to see your upcoming videos on historical crocheting!!
That is beautiful!

That's a great pink. My favorite sweaters have been short sleeved yet almost forget that's an option. Cute.

Gorgeous ❤

So beautiful!💖wow

I think a knitted hem would have been cool for this sweater and something I believe was more common in the past
This is beautiful! You did a wonderful job. I would love to see more vintage 20th century knits from you. Your latest have been amazing and inspiring for me ☺
That looks wonderfully professional!
Beautiful
Beautiful!!
Would so so so love to test a modern translated pattern of this sweater if you were ever to get a chance to write it!
I would love to see a close up and slower version of your knitting technique!
I know this is an old comment but if you see this, try looking for Annie Modesitt’s videos on Combined style-I believe that is the same! It’s how I knit!
So lovely! I need to try this type of construction.
That’s lovely
I love this pattern. Searching through my yarn stash to see if I have enough yarn.
Just downloaded the pattern book from Etsy!
Wow it's really pretty and the colours are really wonderful together!
A good makeshift ball winder is a toilet paper roll with slits cut on two sides
It came out beautiful, I hope they like the gift!
So lovely, well done!
It looks amazing! The pink and cream are beautiful together! This makes me want to pick up my knitting needles again!
Gorgeous!
Your sweater turned out beautiful!! Nice work.
I love your videos so much ! Each time I see you've uploaded a new one I'm so happy !

Absolutely a classic, so feminine.
I can't get the pattern link to work and I just absolutely love this pattern and tutorial and would love to make one for myself... please can you help me with the link...hugs Lynn Weasenforth 💯💜💛💙🌹
Beautiful work!!!
What are these knitting needles?
Tried to order but it won't let me and I even have the money on the card 😂 so what size needles did you use please
Can you buy your pattern singularly?
1 Beautiful.
2 How do you keep from carpul tunnel?
Thank you! That's a great question, I've definitely had more soreness lately! Hopefully stretching, rest and warm soaks will help!
I switch between continental and English knitting, crochet and sewing as that is a knitter’s worst nightmare.

I’m not sure that the stitches are twisted she might always net through the back loop instead of the front like in Portuguese knitting
Knit! Not net lol
Watching this telling my self this is my next project, get to the sleeves and I’m like nope maybe not, I can’t use dpns.
I purchased 12" circulars and use those for sleeves. They work great!
As Bob Ross said, there are no mistakes, just happy little accidents.
its 2020 bring back the 1920 styles.
It might have been a mistake but that pink is lovely. And I don't like pink!
Did you CO the original number of stitches called for? I'd like to try knitting this but I need to figure out the math to size this up, lol.
Beautiful
