I just bought it and I really like it!! cabin is overall very quiet. Plenty of heart in the engine. I was speeding at 85mph engine quiet as a mouse 2500 rpm and I was like okay I need to be careful of that. The steering is definitely heavy and there's no play in the steering which is fine just different from my last car. feels very very nimble for an suv. I've not read my manual fully yet but I think theres like a soft lane assist setting? Because if you don't signal when you lane change there seems to be some resistance.
Got mines almost 2 months ago and a recall just came out a week ago, its the PCM & TCM having troubles. I am bringing mines in tomorrow for a reprogramming. just a fyi you might want to check into it.
Finally I see the 2024 Turbo in use, were going to trade up from our 2019 CX-3, soul crystal red with matching soul crystal red wheels. It's a real looker! I took 8 months with the dealer to make a deal, and I got free Painted wheels. $700.00 to paint and its apparently a five coat process for this colour.

@@trinluv Thanks for the Info, BTW try turning off the TCS system. You will see a dramatic increase in the power steering being so much easier. Makes parking so much easier. This is true for the 2024 and my 2019.
This revs. to 5000 , Mazda engineers are more interested making the engine last for years, I saw an interview with them ...can't beat the engine to death as fast this way ...they did it on purpose at mazda .
I have the Carbon Turbo in the same color. I think it’s absolutely the best vehicle in the class. Really hoping Mazda doesn’t discontinue it since the CX-5 is the last vehicle on the old platform.
Either try December (dealerships pay taxes on each car on the lot every January 1) or Wait 6-9 months. Car market is in shambles. Dealerships will start to disappear shortly.
Not mentioned - Apple Carplay and Android Auto now works as a touchscreen in 2024. If you change the settings when you buy the car, you can change it to work as a touchscreen on the move as well and not only when you are parked.
Great review! I have a 23 Turbo and I love it! I believe it shifts close to 5000 rpm because that's where peak horsepower is. Peak torque is at 2500, so I guess Mazda see's no reason to shift much past there. I'd think it reduce wear as well. But the trick to get it to hold to redline is to use manual mode and turn off traction control.
I bought the 2022 Mazda. 3 complaints. 1) chrome trim only on lower side windows. The hockey stick.. and emblems that need to be offered in satin Black. 2) Toyo tires look greyish in color and the sides have some ribbing . I bought Michelin tires right away. 3) The 2022 did not have wireless Apple Car play which was not good. Was not offered an upgrade after either. It was a $50,000 vehicle.
***WARNING**** BEWARE..... Traded my 2017 Cx5 Grand Touring (which I loved) to a 2024 cx5 turbo premium. I thought it was nice at first. a coupe of times it was hesitant and i thought maybe its the turbo maybe its how i was driving it but then the other day when driving it, it atomically shifted into 1st gear (automatic car) i was a hard shift and it goes so slow for like a min or 2 then shifts back & jerks you. I called Mazda & come to find out there is a recall its the PCM & TCM having troubles and there is a upgrade download they have to do. Just a fyi you might want to check into it. now i want to get rid of it! i can only see future problems.
Thanks for the review. I just purchased one and wanted to ask you if you also noticed a good Amount of rumble noise (I believe Are generated by the stock tires) in the front driver/passenger side?
Thanks for your review.. I'm trying to decide between this and a bmw x1 the fact that you described the feel between the 2 brands was helpful.. I wonder what non luxury brand would feel like I'm driving a Mercedes
Just know you won't be able to update the maps on those amazon or ebay cards. You're gonna get outdated maps. Mazda changed the connect app and if you try to update it, the app will wipe your card clean.
Hey OJ I enjoyed watching your video on the mazda cx5 turbo 2024 can you test drive the 2024 acura rdx AWD A-spec turbo and do a comparison with the mazda cx5 turbo and let me know personally which one would you choose based on power train and driving dynamic I am looking forward for your respond. Stay safe.
Personally the Durango RT’s interior looked very cheap compared to my Cx 5 it’s my second one so I send ahead and got turbo I’ve had a Mazda Mx 6 a Mazda 3 and I’ve loved every one of them they all handled extremely well but this one overall wins hands down
Sound is rated B grade , most all other cars are C grade , A grade is very expensive car territory , so B grade is well above average cars for sure ...I have one .
I think the sound in incredible. I have a 2023 CX-5 Carbon Edition with Bose 12 speaker and subwoofer system. It cannot be beat for the price in my opinion. Word of warning though, once you experience an amazing audio system like this it is really hard to go back.
It’s not a dog, it’s just not quick. The 2.5 is plenty from 0-50. After that it’s just ok. It would benefit from an 8 speed tranny. You should try driving a Hyundai Kona…that’s a dog.
Well, they still sell 150,000 of them/year in the U.S. so it ain’t a huge deal. If you like a lot of black plastic molding everywhere, buy the other cars in this class, they have plenty.

0:28 The CX-7 was a midsize crossover/ SUV. It wasn't a compact CUV so the CX-5 didn't replace the CX-7
Got mine last week …Love it❤
Got mines almost 2 months ago and a recall just came out a week ago, its the PCM & TCM having troubles. I am bringing mines in tomorrow for a reprogramming. just a fyi you might want to check into it.
@@trinluv ,I will get it checked actually due for my first service😀Thanks for the heads up
I had 3 Mazda CX-5 since 2009. Best value for the money! I hope they stay with 2.5L naturally aspirated engine and old school gear box.

One day, I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-5 Premium.
Either try December (dealerships pay taxes on each car on the lot every January 1) or Wait 6-9 months. Car market is in shambles. Dealerships will start to disappear shortly.
Love my 2023 cx5 Turbo, I had to get rid of the Toyo A36 tires as they are poor on wet or snow roads. My new Goodyears work great.
Not mentioned - Apple Carplay and Android Auto now works as a touchscreen in 2024. If you change the settings when you buy the car, you can change it to work as a touchscreen on the move as well and not only when you are parked.
Now my 1st new Mazda CX-5 SUV I can buy.

That's why no one buys turbo trims. Regular cx5 is bullet proof.
Thanks for the review. I just purchased one and wanted to ask you if you also noticed a good

Are generated by the stock tires) in the front driver/passenger side?
Great video , I got the carbon turbo sircone sand color super nice car

Do you have the parking lights on during this review? Also is there a way to just have the DRL on while driving without the projector beams on? Thanks

Mazda cost less , is build better , has more torque so less gear hunting for power , feels more cohesive and natural .
Do you need nav if you're using google maps?
O.J.?? Will he be slashing prices?
I know there 2 totally different cars but between this and the Durango RT what would you recommend.
Personally the Durango RT’s interior looked very cheap compared to my Cx 5 it’s my second one so I send ahead and got turbo I’ve had a Mazda Mx 6 a Mazda 3 and I’ve loved every one of them they all handled extremely well but this one overall wins hands down
How do you like the non-Turbo engine of this same car?
It’s great for around town , peppy and more than sufficient.
0- 50 is excellent.
50-70 gets an “ok”.
nice drive .
Is the gloss black trim really painted or polish plastic?
It painted...
Burn thru that fuel quickly for sure😮
Love Mazda, but I think they need to upgrade the interior, especially the options of screen size.
Most of the newer competitors screen sizes are overkill and make the interior look cheap.
Someone is complaining about a 2024 model year vehicle NOT having USB A up front? That seems like a first.
What about the audio quality of the stereo.
Good sound, not perfect but good
Sound is rated B grade , most all other cars are C grade , A grade is very expensive car territory , so B grade is well above average cars for sure ...I have one .

Buttery steering = numb steering = no thanks...I'll take Mazda steering any day .
The regular cx-5 is a dog entering the highway or passing slow traffic.
It’s not a dog, it’s just not quick. The 2.5 is plenty from 0-50. After that it’s just ok.
It would benefit from an 8 speed tranny.
You should try driving a Hyundai Kona…that’s a dog.
Rev match??? this isn’t a stick shift, bro
It’s not revving up all the way because it’s a brand new car…
They do that regardless of age
Beautiful car but I do not like how they drive.....heartbreaking
Not for everyone, but I prefer it over the loosely-goosey feel of cars like the Sportage.
I hate when he says "gushy" 😖
Same interior since 2017.. come on mazda.. why no fog lights
Better looking interior and higher quality than anything in this class.
@jimmy5634 no way jimmy.. have you seen the dodge hornets interior? It's top level 💯 👌
God awful pink stitching..wtf?!
Its just so dated
Well, they still sell 150,000 of them/year in the U.S. so it ain’t a huge deal.
