    Parking garages absolutely do not cost $1 Billion. 500 spaces would be something like $15-25 Million. Giant skyscrapers cost a billion dollars, not their garages.

    • @MCQ-fq6bv

      He's full of it per usual, but the cost of a garage is cost prohibitive for a regional park upfront. It also has continued added cost. A garage takes much more maintenance, cleaning, and patrolling for safety.

      @VampireInBlack Parking garages will not be feasible at Cedar Point. Getting in and out of the park will be more of a nightmare than it already is. Plus costs and maintenance upkeep, security protocols, staffing, climate controls this will NEVER HAPPEN.

    The park doesn't need to expand their footprint. Any talk of it is thoosie nonsense. Talk of parking garage or moving parking off the peninsula are pure Thoosie nonsense. First, CP has several spots within their current footprint to add coasters and rides. Also, in the future they have several aging coasters that will hit the end of their life cycle, become maintenance problems and /or just are not popular. Snake River falls met all these criteria and thus was removed.

    • @CoasterVet
      @CoasterVet 27 дней назад +2

      Right, 12 of Cedar Points coasters are over 20 years old, and Maverick is closing in on 20 years. Moving parking off site would also mean there would have to be a shuttle services, which would take more staff, and a lot of buses to handle the crowds. Very expensive.

    The number one burning question should be how can cedar point get their operations and maintenance up to par. I was in the park on an August Saturday (75 sunny and not windy) and these were my observations. :
    Millennium force down most of the entire day. Gatekeeper down a good bit of the day. Rougarou down a good bit. Steel vengeance down a good bit. Valravn, Gemini, and magnum all broke down for short periods of time. Only big coasters without issues were Maverick and Raptor. One positive was when Vengeance broke at the end of the night right at 10, management walked us over to get a ride on Maverick. They handled that well. But the parks coasters are not reliable at all in Terms of keeping them running without downtime. It is brutal.

    • @timothykaczmarek5871
      @timothykaczmarek5871 26 дней назад +2

      @alantrotter2077 Cedar Point has gone downhill (no pun intended), in the things people visit from all over, and it seems to be the rule rather than the exception. Given a choice between Kings Island and Cedar Point, Kings Island WITHOUT A DOUBT is far superior to Cedar Point on so many levels. Operations there are envious of other parks, water park is included in the general admission, fast lane wristband system is not charging for their top tier coasters (which seldom seem to go down like Cedar Point's rides that need an afternoon coffee break), grounds are beautiful and the staff is excellent. I worked at Cedar Point for 5 seasons, LOVED IT, had great managers and all, yet is definitely not the park it was in the 70's and 80's.

    • @MCQ-fq6bv
      @MCQ-fq6bv 26 дней назад +1

      @@timothykaczmarek5871 "fast lane wristband system is not charging for their top tier coasters"...WTF are you talking about? The system is the same at both parks. The only difference is KI a lot fewer people buy FL b/c it's mostly a local's park, while CP sells infinitely more as a destination park. Wonderland is the same as KI, locals don't buy FL. Wonderland will have 90 to 120 minute wait for major coasters and FL will be 5 minutes b/c locals see no need to buy FL when they go to the park all the time.

    • @timothykaczmarek5871
      @timothykaczmarek5871 26 дней назад +2

      @MCQ-fq6bv That's BULLSHIT. Kings Island, which is FAR SUPERIOR than Cedar Point, doesn't charge two price points for fast lane. Cedar Point does, and for what? That's a TOTAL RIPOFF, seeing how fast lane is already an additional upgrade, which is fine, however a total money grab for 3 additional rides which have no increased value within their compound. There's no reason for this aside from being a cash grab. Kings Island is SOO MUCH BETTER THAN CEDAR POINT on so many levels. And they have dedicated entrances for their attractions, aside from maybe 3, and those STUPID merge points at Cedar Point are a joke as you'll STILL be in line because their operations have slipped severely since I was an employee.

    • @MCQ-fq6bv
      @MCQ-fq6bv 26 дней назад

      @@timothykaczmarek5871 Literally you have no idea WTF you're talk about. Since you're complaining so much, it's clear you can't afford the few extra dollars. Get a better job and stop whining. They have 2 levels of FL for a good reason, people that don't want to ride big rides.The reason KI has 1 level is nobody hardly buys it, all the low end parks have 1 level, the top end parks have two levels. It's the same reason KI FL is cheap, low sales. Also, FL vs FL+ is actually 4 rides currently and in the future 5(with TT2), the most popular ones. The notion it has no added value is ludicrous. I can ride Maverick often as a walk on or 10/15 min wait while the regular line is 90 mins. There have been days with 90 min wait, over the bridge and into 2 switch backs where I have ridden Maverick 8 times in 1hr. Pretty good value. Mt all season all park fast lane has great value, however given your crying you can't afford it.

    If they to are going to allow the ThunderCanyon to stay operating, then they can afford to put in another water ride. With summers being pretty hot at times, and having only one water ride to handle keeping everyone cool on those hot days is a bit too much. What's the difference whether they put another water ride in or keep Thunder Canyon. The same question you ask about Snake River Falls being operated from mid May to September can be applied to Thunder Canyon in that same time frame. It also does not seem right that when you go to Michigan's Adventure, you pay for the amusement part of the park and the water park all in one admission price. Why can't Cedar Point do the same thing, especially if they are both owned by the same company Cedar Fair. Michigan's Adventure doesn't have as many rides as Cedar Point, but the trade off is both areas of the park are covered under one price, just wish it was closer to me. CP has more than enough restaurants. I miss the Space Needle they took down to make room for Gatekeeper. Theyshould have just relocated Space Needle to where the Giant wheel was by the train station. That would have been a cool spot for it.

    DO you think that Cedar Point could have kept Top Thrill II open by just patching up problems and just temporarily fixing it through the season? Was there any temporary fix to keep it functioning that they just felt would be too much of a risk? I personally think they could have kept running it as is and just doing temporary fixes every few days. Just my guess.

  • @chadmorris946

    SRF is at the end of its service life but they do not even need to replace it. The area could just be a nice scenic area with seating and just shady areas to relax. Supposedly Intamin was contacted about TTD and the proposal didn't work out. They also had 19yrs to get the ride to work right and couldn't so I don't understand how Zamperla is so awful when they only had 3 or 4 months to get the kinks out after opening. There is tons of variables that need accounted for and sometimes you can't just simulate stuff and get it right in the real world. So they know the problem but it just takes time to test and manufacture the new components and materials needed.

Despite the lie spouted by thoosies, including this channel it was not decided by cost and whom was the least. It was about what the proposed changes were. FYI, the cost of the revamp was more than many new coasters from all the proposals.

    Never thought about it but parking garages would be smart. Disney uses them and they have an abundance of land 😂. Or maybe eventually kings island with their abundance of land will be the better park in the further since cedar point is landlocked

    • @MCQ-fq6bv
      @MCQ-fq6bv 26 дней назад +2

      The notion of Parking garages is silly thoosie logic. It's cost prohibitive for a regional park. Also, it would ruin the entire atmosphere of the entrance to the park. Part of CP is as you come up the causeway you see the coasters, the view, the gate coaster, etc....instead you see an ugly parking garage like at a mall. It's never happening b/c of cost, beyond the negative atmosphere effect

      Yes, there is for CP. Even right post pandemic they were paying $20/hr and couldn't get enough people. There isn't a major population center close by and many locals don't want to work. Cedar Point would really benefit as an expansion in the future to relocate the Parking Lot to the Mainland and build a Monorail or Tramway System between the Park and new Parking lot. I agree with you about the Labor situation however like you said the best scenario is for future expansion to relocate the Parking and add onto the Park. As to the Resorts they MUST stay as is on the Island. This is too big of a draw for Guests.
    Best future idea for Cedar Point is to build large Monorail system that could connect to all resorts and properties maintained in Sandusky and I honestly think that Cedar Point could possibly become one of the busiest Theme Parks in the Country with such a huge expansion. The Park could definitely give Disney and Universal some serious competition but only if they can figure out the Labor Staffing needed for such a project. It would be great if Cedar Point was able to expand by another 8 or so Coasters and 40 or so Flat Rides.
    Brandon! How about you do a fun video with this in mind just for fun a futuristic Cedar Point major expansion? Bigger Soak City? 25 or so Coasters, Dark rides, bunch more Flat rides etc. New restaurants or another Hotel? All without a Parking Lot. Also show a video with the Monorail between all Sandusky Six Flags Properties. This would be a great fun project just for fun. Especially with Winter approaching and most Parks closing for the Season in your spare time of course just for fun! A new reimagined Cedar Point!😊❤😊 Are you up to having a fun project to take on? I'm sure many viewers would like to see your view of a new Cedar Point!!😊 Thanks for all your videos and time and have a roller coaster day!

      Complete thoosie, industry, business ignorant talk of "Parking Lot to the Mainland and build a Monorail or Tramway System." No regional theme park is building a monorail system or the other thoosie nonsense of parking garage. Cedar Point as part of a regional chain is not and doesn't actually compete with destination parks such as Disney or Universal. Disney parks division profit a year was 10Billion, last year . The 27 dry parks and 15 water parks of the merged chain combined produce 3.2B in revenue. Do you understand that math? Disney's park division net income(profit) is more than 3X the merged chain gross revenue.
