@@muajkoobyang8415 I can help you through this article that I've written www.howtobecomeafootball.com/2021/04/12/how-to-be-a-better-centre-back-in-2021/
some tips as cb make sure you keep a line make sure you get coverd when anicipateing defend deep vs fast strikers defend high vs slow attackers be aggresive have communication with keeper foul when needed cover for yout fullback when needed hope i helped
So basically if your playing against a fast player you need to give yourself more space between yourself and him. This is so he doesn’t just turn you and get away cause he’s faster. If you leave space you can slow him down and tackle or allow other player to get back. When your playing against a slower attacker (who will normally be tall and strong), you need to get close to him and stay tight. If he does turn you then you’ll be able to get back but obviously you should stay tight on him so he can’t turn you. Try and win the passes that get played to him so he won’t be able to pass to other players. Don’t give him time on the ball and be aggressive with him.
I was a midfielder but quit for 3 years and now I a bit behind on technical ability but I’m still 6’4 190 lbs and pretty fast so CB is a pretty nice spot for me
I’ve been playing cdm most my life and right now making the switch into a centre back. Got to respect it. I always overlooked how difficult and crucial a position it is to play
Just recently started playing center back (in 8-a-side though). Love it. I used to play right back but the perspective this position gives you is cool. I love playing more libero-style, further back. Obviously this is different than 11-a-side, but these are good tips. Thanks!
Tell me what position you guys think I should play. I am not that tall 5ft10 but I love to tackle and challenge for the ball. I would say I am quite aggressive and like to use my body.
I think one of the most important things to play cb is being able to recognize the opponents skill sets early on. Whether the st is fast or good in his weak foot is very important to know early on in the game
Thank you I’ve been a winger all my life and played varsity my freshman year and quickly showed my 1v1 abilities but this year (sophomore) our varsity team is only seniors and we are missing a good cb on jv. So coach is playing me cb and adjusting has been hard along with the disappointment of not making varsity again and our jv team is not very good. And I’ve been struggling a lot at cb as my defending have never been great and I really needed this like I get so emotional about it because I feel like I’m letting my coach and team down when I mess up. And I’m annoyed because if I was put as a winger, striker, or even cm I know I could help us so much creating chances and scoring goals and it’s just hard I’ve always been physical but it’s just tough on me mentally
Yes, communication! I just started playing with a new team and have a bit of a communication barrier with my other center back. I need to find a better way for us to communicate effectively and effortlessly.
I used to play cb when I was young then everyone grew and got fast I was a late birthday so that was how it went, so they moved me to right back and now I want to learn how to be a short cb again like from when I was 9
I play Centreback and my strongest attribute is tackling/taking the ball from the striker at the right time, my weakness is commanding the back as a whole and reading the play to communicate with my teammates
I do not play center back, I play center defensive midfield; but the thing that I really need to improve is my decision making. I think what I’m going to do to improve is work on my passing ability (checking my surroundings, etc) so I do not panic in those pressure situations when the opposing team’s forward is darting at me
Loved your video so much I had to subscribe, bro! Also, I started playing the CB position 3 years ago and I’m still learning something new every season. I noticed that my positioning is something I need to work on. 👍🏼
Yes, I play this position CB. I need to work on my decision making. I am good at dribbling and giving good passes and also waiting for the attacker before tackling
Tip 1. Be good Tip 2. Play smart Tip 3. Don’t be dumb Tip 4. Don’t give the ball away Tip 5. Defend well Tip 6. Be where you need to be Tip 7. Don’t be where you’re not supposed to be Tip 8. Keep being smart Tip 9. Take the ball Tip 10. Do well Thx. Really insightful.
Yep, CB here, 045s in Australia. I think my best of the list is Leadership, or more accurately helping organise the defence. The midfield just can't see as much as us, so I try and give them as much information as possible about what's behind. If a defensive mid is isolated I'll be shouting "just jockey there!", but if the backs have them covered "go hard there Michael!" Just trying to give them information they don't have that helps
The other thing I like to do, hangover from basketball days, make the first challenge of the game as hard as nails. Make everyone on the other team go "err, I don't want that guy to tackle me".
Ive recently moved to CB from ST at the start of this season (as well as being made captian) due to being 6"4 after playing CB for a total of 7 games with my school team. after half way through the season ive bagged myself 7 goals in 7 league appearances. ive been winning arial battles with people only a few inches smaller than me but struggling with players that match my height. i feel comfortable on the ball but my decision making when it comes to passing is just look for the ball over the top and hope the ball doesnt go miles when it bounces. when ive played, ive been holding off making the tackle and pushing the player towards the by line to make the angle smaller for the attacker and only put in the tackle and take the ball when the player pulls his foot back. but i need to work on whether to play a high line or a deeper line but my back line is usually playing a high line and play the offside. p.s . ik its long but idk what i really need to work on
I'm actually a Centre mid and I'm the shortest in my team but we have 2 centre backs out for 4 weeks and since I used to play rb the coach is playing me cb for a few weeks. Any tips?
Have good positioning make When a guy is dribbling do that wierd side tackle when you feel its a right moment If you are playing against fast players go back but stop near the box so that he cant shoot Jump high if you can when a ball is in the air Dont slide too much i havr never slided in my life and im the bestcb at my school Be strong For that last advice is one of the best advices i can give you.You have no idea how many balls i have taken or slowed down an attacker
I always think that my best position is at Mid since I can turn with the ball well and progress the ball. However, I am lack in terms of knowing when i should play it back and when i should play my forwards (most often the problem is the earlier). Now im trying to be centreback for my team due to lack of ball playing players as Rec team
How do you defend against a very tall striker who's over 6ft? I used to be a winger in my younger days but now at 54, I find that playing CB/LB/RB are pretty satisfying too :)
I play lb as well as centre back for lb I’m good at running down the wing and whipping balls in because of my speed and strength but I also know when not to run with it. At cb im good at staying on my feet and not diving in
Does anyone have links to videos to best analyze centerback positioning? I am an aspiring centerback that wishes to play for my highschool team and I think all I need to work on is my communication and positional discipline. Anything would be appreciated
Hey bro love these videos I play cm and when I just am messing around with my mates I'm usually a lot better in games and find myself not using the skill I know I have. It's weird but can u help lol?
@Perfect Soccer when I'm just messing I can always do effective feints and dribbling moves but in games I never trust myself to do them incase I get tacked and we concede
@Perfect Soccer tbh I dont know I know I'm a good cm and I'm slowly working on showing that I always do good in training so coach knows I just tend to play different in games. Not bad just a lot simpler
I have tryouts for school soon and im trying to learn how to play centreback. I usually play right back, and although they are both similar they are a bit different
I have been playing in a very small field like a futsal court when I need to step up my game to a full big pitch my center back role turned out crappy and I need to work it out before my school trails next year
VDK is the best Center Back in Football but Rueben Dias, Marquinhos, Sergio Ramos in his prime, Bonucci and Rudiger deserve plenty of attention and love. VDK has the perfect physique to be a modern day CB in European football but to me Dias and Rudiger have great pace and touch as well.
I play CB but my best ability is probably leader ship and everyone you said I’m the video I do but I just need to develop it’s my first year playing CB
I’m a center mid and played center back for the first time today and might have to play it next game so I’m trying to learn quickly so I know a little more than nothing so please give me tips in comments
I’m changing my spot to right center back cuz I been playing right back for a while and wasn’t too dominant and found out that I’m better off as a center back
I am a centre back and my centre back partner has got put cdm so I have to be a leader of the back line and also the old cb who is the cdm now is the captain and I am now vice captain for how much I am of a leader
I'm good at Smart tackling but I need to work on my Long passing because sometimes I kick the ball forward but it doesn't go High, I really need some help🙏♥️.

Can u explain defending deep and defending high?
