very cool, bought the rk-002 & loving the polyphony, can you explain how you set up the digitakt to directly control the PMUXPOLY setting by turning a knob ? ( @ 6:20 in video )
Hey nice video ! Can I use any usb midi host brand ?? Or it’s just work with the Rk5 ! I bouth a digitakt and the rk002 cable ! What else Do need to use my keystep 37 connected to the digitakt and play polyphony chords ??
Another host which should work as well but you can also directly play the digitakt from the Keystep with the rk002 in between. You need to disable loopback mode on the 002 you can do that from the duy portal or by plugging the discharged rk002 cable and keep the C key pressed while plugging the rk002. Release the C key within three seconds and play should be possible directly. Also there’s some info here: duy.retrokits.com/59f1fd71-3f92-49ad-b223-71371d03630e/
Hello i'm using the RK002 for euclidian stuff on my Digitakt too but i have some question.. - Do you know a way to use mute for each track ? Cause the euclidian mode is bypassing the internal séquencer and also the mute 🤦🏼♂️ - Can you explain how using and preset the ( ch11) arpeggiator ? I play with Polyphony (ch9) and euclidian (ch10) but have no idea how to fire this arp. Thanks 😉
Hi, did you ever figure this out? I'm also getting euclidian mode bypassing the sequencer - it is always triggering notes whether I press play or stop on the Digitakt, and the Euclid notes are going by their own timing and not synced in time with the Digitakt sequencer notes
Hello, i got the rk002 with latest duy digitakt, with loopback 1 I cant no longer do midi loopback on remaining channel (like extra lfo’s). If I set it to loopback 0 the polyphony and euclydian still works, I can do loopback on extra channel but it doesnt filter the cc120 anymore, as long as I dont double stop it doesnt lock up. Any chance to have the cc120 blocked on loopback 0 or still be able to use extra channel for midi loopback? Thx a lot
Daniel Solomon you mean control Euclid from 8 midi channels instead of one? It would require writing custom code. You can do that with our DUY portal and the Arduino IDE though.
Because the RK002 takes up both the Midi in and out I am unable to sync the clock with my other pieces of gear. I find this incredibly frustrating because I love what the cord does. The Midi Thru on my Digitone will not sync the clock with other gear. Are there any solutions to this problem? Thanks
you can plug the midi out into a thru box and split the output from that to the Digi~ and others. Also, if you use a USB host like the RK006 on the Digi~ you can use the USB midi to sync up a lot of devices and still have the RK002 processor in loopback on it.
Hello awesome stuff 😳... Question i have just a Digitakt. My dream is using it like an Euclidean sequencer. It is possible using RK002 cable to make the Digitakt trigging himself with Euclidean mode? Thanks in advance
@@RetrokitsDev Ooooomygod.... Sorry but i use the Digitakt since day one he was created... And i dont know how i missed this cable beauty 😳. Where is the best place to buy it from Europe? Thanks again !!!
I’m not sure about the ins and outs of the syntakt but If the midi implementation is somewhat similar to the digitakt : yes sure. The RK002 can split to 16 channels but on the digitakt the 8 sample channels is the limitation.
What usb hub are you using with the rk05 (I don’t see it on your site) I already have the 05 and wondering if there is something special about the 4 way usb hub since it’s in a lot of your videos and product photography.
How many keys does using the cable method let you play at once? Is it 8? I undertand that the cable makes it more easy to achieve "polyphony" in the Digitakt but was wondering what's the maximum number of notes you could trigger at the same time? If anyone knows please let me know. Thanks!
Is it possible to merge firmwares, like adding velcoity to the Digitakt? Also, can we save templates/firmwares with the DUY if we want to use the RK-002 with another device?
@@RetrokitsDev Fantastic thanks! I think I'll finally purchase one. Will there be any firms for the new Volca Drum? I understand, like the Volca Sample, MIDI note number and velcoity are ignored; can the Volca Sample firm be used w/ the Volca Drum.
I dont get it - how can You use both the Keystep and RK002? The RK002 takes up both Digitakt midi ports for loopback. I dont think this video explains it but it seems crucial - once You unlock polyphony it would be cool to play with it from a proper keyboard :)
@@RetrokitsDev can the RK002 alone add polyphony to the Digitakt? If I buy one do I just have to plug in it or are there some settings to set before? 😅😅
Well this movie does show what steps you can take to adjust polyphony (std set to 4 voices), euclid and such. Just looping back the cable in the DT does the job.
Thank you for the video and explanation! Is there a way to play the notes in "polyphonic mode" at the same time? Right now they are being played after each other but I would like to create a pad out of samples I made. Could I otherwise increase the tempo in which they are being played after each other so at least I get the feeling they are being played at the same time? Thank you for your help!
Hmm, I'm not sure what you mean, the arpeggio triggers the different channels in time (so after each other) but if you just use the polymux mode you can play the Digitakt as a polysynth, no delays whatsoever.
@@RetrokitsDev alright, I didn't try it yet, so my question came just from watching different RUclips videos. Thank you very much, I'll buy the cable and check it out!
Not sure on the setup at the Digitone but what you need for the Euclid to work is: MIDI clock out and 8 CC's on range 70-77 (and if you want to change the notes on the fly - note input). If that's on there it will work too.
Hi. If I understand this setup, you have to use tracks 1-8 to host the sample that gets played polyphonically. That means if I want 4 note polyphony I need to use 4 sample tracks. Is that correct? Leaving me only 4 sample tracks. Is this true of all the polyphonic Digitakt setups? Thanks!
Yes, that’s how it works, you can assign up to 8 poly channels so if you want to combine with digitakt drums you just assign a bit less channels for poly

Rafael Ayres it can play up to 16 notes (=all midi channels) but on this firmware it is limited to 8 because the Digitakt has 8 sample channels.
