      He's been like that once he wasn't competitive anymore. I started golf in 2000 and Nick acted like that even back then.

      Back in the 90's I lived in Orlando & took lessons at Leadbetter Academy Lake Nona with Faldo there once but he was off limits to us. One of my instructors hated him but I was so inspired to watch him hit balls, just perfect swing & tempo.

    This was amazing. I was mesmerized with the detailed description of his thoughts and feelings. One can only imagine what it would be like to be a masters champion. We’ve all imagined it, so few achieve it. Great interview.

    1996 Masters is the one that really got me into golf. Nick Faldo is and always will be a legend of the game!

    I loved this. Nick Faldo seemed as in awe of the Masters experience as I would have been. This was so cool to listen to. All the names. Very very enjoyable. Very very fun to hear one of the all time greats say he had to pinch himself

    Great interview BTW!!!!...would definetly look over the pointing out of people when Nick says where everyone's sitting, Adam Scott got pointed when he says Trevor, and Nick probably meant Tom Watson not Bubba, when talking about who sits next to Jack too:).

    As a teenage golfer I use to idolise Sir Nick. I was so happy to play and compete in his Faldo junior series. Happy memories. Thank you Sir Nick 🤩

    Jack Nicklaus and John Morris are both members of Augusta National. Arnold Palmer was a member until his passing in 2016.

    Under the club rules if you ask to be a member you can't get in. It's invitation only. That question "do you want to be a member" put Sir Nick in an awkward position. He can't say yes and he can't say no.

    That’s absolutely hilarious that if you win the Masters and you are then a Masters Champion that you don’t gain membership and if you want to play any other time you need to play with a member haha classic

    Love listening to Nick, what a player, got to be in the top 3 best ever UK players, greatest for me in modern golf, even though i grew up a Sandy Lyle fan, but Nick was so scientific at his game, not the longest but a master of course management and a genius at the big moments.

    When you win The Masters, or any of the Golf Majors, the financial rewards are incredible.
    Everyone in Golf want your name and profile to endorse their latest product.
    The prize money is only the start of the financial rewards.
    Sir Nick Faldo won it an incredible three times, and alongside the great Jack Golden Bear Nicholas, he won back to back titles.

    I like Nick...he's very English.
    I played with him in a long driving comp in 1980 at Stoke Poges.
    Bernard Langer beat him by 1 yard. 306-305. Wooden drivers back then.

    I live about an hour and a half away from there and the closest I got to seeing it Was threw a hole cut in the fence. Lol. Also my dad goes to church with Bobby Jones’s grand son and he ain’t even allowed to go play, which is pretty crazy

    In my mind the Masters and Open are co-equal as the 2 most prestigious tournaments in golf. The other two majors are too much like each other and don't have the traditions.

    I have played golf with one of the two Head Professionals at Augusta at my course. People ask me did you ask to play Augusta. My response is if you ask you will never play it. 😁

    That is shocking to hear that a 3 time champion like Faldo still has to play with a member if he wants to play the course. That is BS. Champions like him should play the course anytime they want, they've earned it.

      I love how Augusta maintains its aura of absolute perfection by NOT giving free play to past Champions.
      I now love the start of the Masters even more.
      It's Status and relevance to increasing excitement around the start of the Golf season/year has just grown massively.

      @@Pwilli-hs6yi Yeah. Augusta's standards are pretty high. Bill Gates applied to be a member there and got rejected...twice. He's a member now thanks to his buddy Warren Buffett.

    Well you go to some cabin and there is a Butler there. Then the Head of the Club interviews you along with Jim Nance ,who is wearing a Navy jacket and then the previous winner puts a jacket selected from a rack that is a close fit, you shake hands and Jim Nance says goodnight. You then get to keep the jacket for a year and then after that it stays at the club and you can only wear it during the tournament.

      Even if you won 6, you share a locker; but it seems at 6 you are granted full membership.
