  • More info here! My stats: I’m 5’3” with slightly wide feet. My foot length is about a US 7 but I typically need to buy 7.5 to accommodate both a high arch and slightly wide feet.
Typical shoe size: US 7.5 or EU 38
    Square toe flats
    Size: 38.5
Pros: thoughtful built-in padding, very flexible. Some stretch to accommodate wider feet.
Cons: slightly tight against the top of my big toe, which causes a squeaking sound when I walk. They feel like they were designed for a more narrow foot. (They offer new “wide size” styles, and this is not one of those.)
    CustomFit Sandals
    Size: 38
Pros: the perforated material allows to adjust the buckle to any place on the strap, the strap material is thick but stretchy, the footbed is firm but still has give so your foot doesn’t get sore from being squeezed against a foot-shape-mould that doesn’t fit (like in Birkenstocks and similar styles), great grip on the soles due to the tread design, stay on my feet when I’m driving and don’t slide off easily like most other open back shoe designs.
Cons: make you feet look a little wider (but honestly, I don’t care)
    Slingback heel
    Size 38:
Pros: very comfortable for the height, adjustable back strap for the perfect fit, firm but moderately stretchy fabric, makes the foot look more narrow from the front, architectural heel, minimalist design.
Cons: a little tight in the front of the shoe (though the stretchiness makes this totally fine), slightly frumpy/conservative design, I found the style difficult to pair with my existing wardrobe (seems to work best with ankle length or long trousers, midi skirts.) Not ideal for super wide feet or bunions but you might be able to make it work by sizing up and tightening the back ankle strap?
    Wedge mule heels
    Size 38:
Pros: incredibly comfortable for the height, platform gives extra height, firm but slightly stretchy fabric gives in areas where you need more room (like high arch or wide toebed), stays on feet very well even when walking long distances, very flattering on bare legs or when ankles are showing.
Cons: a little narrow when first putting them on (but the stretch out a bit), not ideal for super wide feet. I would recommend sizing up for super wide feet or those with bunions.
