Hold on... Not "The best on Television History" The show was amazing, but you can't compare it to Vince Gilligan shows like Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad. Both series that use little things to foreshadow important events, good drama, different points of view, style and lightning style.

Bj Novak did such a great job as Ryan. His portrayal of being an "edgy" douchebag was so on point it was like viewing a work of art. also, I really missed Ryan and Kelly in the final season.
Literally everything was missed in the final season. Seasons 8 & 9 were trash. It was almost like a completely different show. I refuse to call any of what happened in those final seasons Office canon, besides the last 2 episodes of S9.
I missed Michael!!! I missed Ryan and Kelly! I missed the old Jim and Pam! I missed the old Andy!! I missed David Wallace (throughout the time he was gone I know he came back) The show went downhill in Seasons 8 and 9. Really after Michael left. Really sad
obviously a show is going to change, probably not for the better, when the lead character leaves... seasons eight and nine were definitely the least of them all, but they still had their moments.
PS: I just finished rewatching the whole series, again. the expanded role of Darryl in the later seasons is one of those bright spots I was talking about.

Tobey is definitely one of the best characters. I feel like only the people who have been lonely really love and understand him, Hands down throughout all the show I was rooting for him to finally find some happiness.

Even though The Office is theoretically an "ensemble cast show" Michael is far and away the best and most important character.
Once he was gone, the show was over. The network simply decided to cash cow the show for as long as they could. But, once again, after Steve Carell's departure the show lost almost half of the audience according to Nielsen's ratings

Dwight is prob my fav character. For obvious reasons but also because of how he opens with the rest of the characters towards the end of the show. His character development was amazing
Jan was easily one of my favorite characters; I could laugh so hard at her lines and delivery composted to michaels other love interests😂especially the date night she and Micheal hosted!
Favorite episode is where michael promises to pay 3rd grade classes college tuition...and i love mose and when he parks tobys car by driving it straight into the cornfield lol

I remember Toby giving Pam tips on how to bust Michael in the face and do more damage. And I remember the look of disgust Michael kept giving Toby from behind his back while he was teaching her.
People said it wouldn't work, yet it was better than the original UK version of the show.

It had way more time to develop its characters. I'm sure the UK version would've had some nice development as well if it wasn't so short. And they actually branched off and did something original after season 1. I think that helps with the appeal, because if the characters were just carbon copies of their UK equivalents, then americans would catch on and it would ruin the show for them.

Remember my friend recommended it and as a uk fan I wasnt keen. Watched the first episode and it didnt change my mind. 15 years after sticking with it it's now my favourite tv show of all time. I'm so glad they didnt just copy the uk format because that's what they prety much did in the pilot and it just didnt work

Defiantly the hottest in The Office
I'm from the UK and the original version of The Office was brilliant, but there's just something about the American version I prefer. I actually laugh out loud, Steve Carell is absolutely on the money in it and Dwight is endlessly watchable. Stanley and Andy too. Just a brilliant programme in its own right.
My favorite is Dwight with Michael a close second, those two plus Jim and Pam where just the heart and soul of the office

The original version is much more thoughtful and meant to be powerful and striking. The american version just take some of the philosophy and new ideas that original brought to light and makes it more acceptable to the american audience.

Bj Novak and Mindy were written in as characters from the start. Toby is also a writer, but he wasnt intended to stay on as an actor. I believe he was supposed to be there for one episode but everyone lived him so much they kept him on. Mose, Dwight's cousin, is also a writer.
