I honestly can't believe it. After listening to this song I became obsessed with Andy and Black Veil Brides again, and it led to me meeting them. If any of you are wondering, Andy is honestly the most down to earth person I've ever talked to. He's really sweet, and genuinely cares about his fans. (same with the rest of the band) I talked to him about this song and he said it was sort of a take on his feelings with social anxiety. He wants people to be able to relate to it, and listen to it knowing they're not the only ones who are this way. Meeting him was such a pleasure, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I think the thing I love most about this is the fact that Andy's face, with his fine jaw and cheekbones, angled eyebrows and slim neck, is quite feminine, but the sets and outfits, as well as his gravelly voice, are very traditionally masculine (the smoke, the saw noise, the bottles of alcohol, the leather jacket, the motorbike, the suits, etc). IMO the contrast between the two is incredibly artistic and sexy, and the black and white just tops it all off nicely. (Also, 1:13 feels like he's trying to talk you into bed - and succeeding.)

Was 13 years old when this dropped. Remember seeing the trailer for it before it was released and I was stoked for the song. I found out about Andy because my brother listened to black veil brides, so my entire childhood consisted of “Knifes and Pens” and I loved it. But since I was so young (I was about 5 when he listened to them, so about 10 years ago) my mom didn’t like it. I would still jam out with my brother ever so often, but now since I’m older, I was able to listen to the band myself, and find so many great songs. And then a few years back I found “Andy Black” and this song means so much to me. This song has really helped me through my anxiety. I know I’m saying this years after this song came out but i really do love it because I’m in high school and always told by my family “are you gonna smile or just sit there like that” or to “make a friend today” and I can’t stand that since I have a small group of friends and that’s all I need. I’m not that kind of person I can’t just go up to someone and talk to them and be their friend it’s not in me and just because I’m not smiling doesn’t mean I’m in a mad mood. Was 13 years old when this dropped. Remember seeing the trailer for it before it was released and I was stoked for the song. I wasn't even a full year into being a fan of BVB (6 months into the fandom lol). About a year later, this was one of the songs that helped get me through one of the darkest times of my life. I really struggled and in a way, I was given hope to keep on going. I still have difficult times, but I know I can get through it no matter what.

I found out about Andy because my brother listened to black veil brides, so my entire childhood consisted of “Knifes and Pens” and I loved it. But since I was so young (I was about 5 when he listened to them, so about 10 years ago) my mom didn’t like it. I would still jam out with my brother ever so often, but now since I’m older, I was able to listen to the band myself, and find so many great songs. And then a few years back I found “Andy Black” and this song means so much to me. This song has really helped me through my anxiety. Andy is a really talented person, and you don’t see many people talk about that. Most people talk solely on his looks, which don’t get me wrong, he’s hella attractive, but he also has so much talent. Everyone in the band does.
