I like the P3. I was and Conductor/ engineer on a tourist line for 20 plus years and we had to take our horns off daily due to theft. Good thing we never caught the thieves. They'd Fart through it the rest of their life. We lost at least 6 horns and a bell plus tons of other equipment. (A rebuilt hydraulic cylinder for a boom truck. and air brake valves worth thousands as valves, crap as scrap due to the asshole not knowing what they're made of- Brass) We are a volunteer group and didn't have money for that SHIT.
I'd love to get one of those, but my dream is a Nathan K5H. Those were/are used on BC Rail, and the sound they make is something to behold! I'd recommend getting one if you can get your hands on one.
The Roberto Antonio and the Quentin Beedy are both comment bots. They are SPAM. Both are generic comments that are popping up all over RUclips - IGNORE THEM !!! ( I also like the K3's the best.)
I think the K5LA need bigger hose or bigger air switch, because the sound is kind a restricted. Or maybe one of the chime got foulded with debris, mud, or sand and need to be cleaned out before anything bad happen
My favorite was the Nathan K3LA. I believe these were used on all of the LIRR diesel locomotives from 1950 thru 1968, except for the Alco RS1, which used a single chime flat note horn, if I'm correct, all back in the day of my youth.
Cool video. I don't know much about horns, so forgive me if this is a dumb question... but how do you keep debris/water out of the horn with it mounted under the vehicle?
@@ShaneGoddard1 you guys have 5 gallon tanks. I have a 3 gallon tank and I’m going with the P3. Horn blasters told me it will probably only last three seconds. What do you think? I guess three seconds is enough time. I don’t know. but since you said with a 5 gallon tank, you get 12 seconds maybe I’ll get more than three?
@@BrettL250 Yes, all of us have 5 gal tanks. I have no idea what a 3-gallon would be like, but if possible I would at least get a 5-gallon. If you can only fit a 3-gallon just roll with it because it will still be a blast!
Some of those horns were so loud I use to open the panel behind the engineers control stand and reach down in and turn the shut off valve just a little to restrict some air…..
The k3 and p3 sit between the frame rails completely above suspension travel. The k3 is pointed backwards and has been installed for over two years. Do tell how it will be “destroyed in no time”.🙄
Corrosion, debris, pitting, as long as it’s those harsh sounding raised letter micro precision horns and not the older Nathan ones then you should be fine because it’s no loss if the new ones get fucked
The Nathan Airchime K5LA is my most favorite horn!

That K5LA is hurting 😅
I have always loved the sound of the P3
Same the P5 is also good

The key to LOUD train horns is volume, volume, volume. As in air volume. Make sure all your plumbing is a min. of 5/8" or larger.
2:40 Winnipeg Jets Goal Horn
2:44 LA Kings Goal Horn
2:47 Atlanta Falcons Touchdown Horn
That K3LA sounds good!

agreed
Thought the same it's not running at its fullest power
Same with the K3LA
Agreed
K5LA was my favorite while I spent 40 years in the seat, you could wake up the dead with those babies!!!
Awesome video guys. Very informative, Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
3:00 music with horns
Oh you bet I ll leave a like Great video
That K3LA sounds like a K3L

K5LA is the nicest one in the video , the Nathan K6LA is way better in my opinion.
They would be a lot louder on top of the vehicle like a real train. All my Nathans get mounted on the top of my truck.
Yes, but I prefer mine to be mounted where people can't see them.
ok, now i have to get in on sum a dat .. maybe a NATHAN K5 LA 💨🎶🎵🎺📯
Cool
I like the second horn better.
I think the NATHAN AIRCHIME P3 win
K3LA I recognize that horn from somewhere in pro-sports.
National Hockey League (NHL) Los Angeles Kings Goal Horn
@@nickgamesplusvlogs6852 yes ik that my nhl team uses it I though I would try to be funny at least.
I love that horn
I’m a kings fan
I want to get one for my car and take it to Kings games lmao
The k5la sounds funny lol
I have have real train horns on my semi truck but I don't know if there k3 or p3
Both of them sound great!
Mantap bang
Is that a Raised Letter K5LA?
Where is the compressor mounted on the white suv?
Awesome!
Thanks! We are about to install a K5LA on a 2019 Ram 2500 too
I prefer the k5la
Cool video. I don't know much about horns, so forgive me if this is a dumb question... but how do you keep debris/water out of the horn with it mounted under the vehicle?
They are facing backwards. I've never had a problem with that.
I have a shield welded to my spare tire carrier to deflect any large debris. I still disassemble and clean the diaphragms every year though.
K5!
Los Angeles goal!
How can I buy a k5 La ? A real one please
You can find then every now and then on ebay.
How long of a honk time do you get before the air runs our?
It dwindles pretty quick but will last about 12 seconds. Very weak at the end.
Til it stops

which one was the loudest in person?
I'd have to say the K5
Tacoma guy said he has smc valve is that just a 12v solenoid valve or does he one of those pilot operated valves.
Just watched the video theough looked like just a 12v solenoid valve
Solenoid
K5LA all day
2:44 is that a screaming woman
Probably
2:51
The plate just couldn't hold it more
I love air corns
I love corn too 😂
Yum
👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
That K5LA is off NJT aint it
Kids!
They all need 1/2" inner diameter hose..Great horns but they're starving them of the air volume that they require to properly sound off.
We are using 1/2 inch
They are all 1/2” the guy with the tacoma stated his was in video. Perhaps it’s the camera audio?
Some of those horns were so loud I use to open the panel behind the engineers control stand and reach down in and turn the shut off valve just a little to restrict some air…..
2:44. Skip the talking
Not near enough air gittin to em....sorry Bros
why is it age restricted?
I didn't know it was
Thanks for letting me know, I just fixed it!
@@ShaneGoddard1 welcome!
@@DJHockeyGoalHorns I've missed MILLIONS of views! :)
Well those horns will be destroyed in no time being mounted under the vehicles..

Icrailfanner is it cause u think they’re not on a high enough suspension?

I've had the K5 mounted under 3 different vehicles over the last 5 years without a problem.
I have Hornblasters S6 two gallon 3/4 hose I think 244 compressor. I think sounds better than these
Embarrassing.
