Need some help please, I have a 98 skidoo mxz 500. I changed the ignition coil and the cdi box. Still not getting spark, is there a why to test the stator? Thats what I was thinking it might be but not sure. Thanks hope you guys could help.
My buddy had identical sled and while going wide open it blew a belt and over reved I guess and was so hot couldn't shut it off..pulled plug wires and still ran..had to sit there and watch it burn the motor down...in the heat of the moment never thought to shut fuel off
alrighty bud i got one for ya. got a free 2002 polaris 800 rmk 156. blown motor crank was toast. so we traded some stuff for a non ves 600 out of a 97 polaris. we put the 40mm carbs on it 800 coil vforce 3 reeds on it full SLP exhaust from the 800 on it its runing all the timing etc from the 800. got it runing played with jeting runs good when it gets going but dogish on the lowend soo ordered some gear too gear it down cuz of the long track what do you think? also running the 600 primary and 800 secondary. with a 78 belt
Severe detonation on the PTO side. You have a problem. Nitrous dries the cylinders out horribly I would definitely throw a rebuild at that motor. And nothing makes you feel better than splitting that case open and getting that crank out and making sure you’re golden from the ground up. The Crank bearings should not make any noise when you spin them with your finger

Update: I found factory paperwork in my owners manual that came with the sled new, I’m at roughly 900 foot above sea level and at that altitude it said to turn the air screw to .25 or quarter turn out, was set at 1 full turn out , the burble is virtually gone and now will pick skis from a dead stop, pretty sure it has the 6000 foot altitude in it from factory, hopeing when I change the jets down to my altitude it will be even better, appreciate your videos and input

When you get no spark have you tried cleaning the stator and flywheel? Got no spark because stator is only producing 2 volts

My 2000 RMK had nitrous on it and it still does and it absolutely rips and is so much fun beats my brothers 850 patriot xD

800 secondary will have far to much helix angle, or in other words is putting to much load on the little 600.
I would 100% keep this motor and chassis all together that thing is healthy!!!

I don’t have an issue only ridden 146 and higher. And I only ice fish and trail ride. So I find that hard to believe.

By dialing in the carbs. Research on all the adjustments a PWK has.
