    Thanks. Refreshing use of the Gelli plate great idea. I am primarily a watercolour artist, just getting into Lavinia stamps but only been used to using acrylic paint on my Gelli plates. Great video. Watching from France.

      Funny...I am just getting into watercolor. So we're crossing paths. I have lots of gel plate videos that are experimental including using alcohol inks on the gel plate. Lots more gel plate and watercolour tutorials to come. I am also setting up a Patreon soon for extra gel plate and watercolour content if you're interested. 😊

    Hi Gail. So glad to have found your channel. I have just bought a gel plate and brushos but was very disappointed that I wasn't getting the effects I wanted so nearly gave up. This video had re motivated me to try again. I've only got oxide ink pads and I think that's been the issue. I'm going to get some Elements pads and try again. Thanks for all the advice and beautiful samples you make.

    • @gailjuliemakes

      I'm so glad you've enjoyed the video and decided to stick with them. The Elements pads are amazing and I have more videos on techniques like image transfer with them. I was really happy with the distress inks too including the oxide, so definitely keep experimenting with them too. You can always add more brusho after if you feel they haven't come out as detailed and remember if you use oxide you can continito manipulate with water after you use your brusho's. I have lots more Gel plate videos to come, so I'd love it if you subscribed to my channel. Take care and keep crafting. Gail xx

    hi gail
    watching for the first time.
    have you tried shaking the brusho powder onto the plate then adding the water before you put your paper down?
    was wondering if that would work...

    • @gailjuliemakes
      @gailjuliemakes  Год назад +1

      Hi Sheryl, thanks for watching. That would definitely work but the colours would be a lot darker and more concentrated in certain areas which wasn't really what I was going for because I wanted to use these as backgrounds. I always encourage people to experiment though because that may be just what you're looking for in a piece you have in mind. X

    Melting Brusho makes it no difference from watercolor. It's uniqueness is the explosive look it has.

    • @gailjuliemakes
      @gailjuliemakes  5 месяцев назад +1

      There are so many different ways to use the gel plate... it's basically a plate made out of a jelly like substance (gel comes from gelatine although the manufactured plates are not gelatine) that you can use with many different media to create unique prints (monoprints). I hope you enjoyed the video and it helped you with the Brusho's too. 🙌
