Brady's mom is a lawyer and a graduate from Harvard. Of course, she will push him to go to college. How did Brady have a comfortable life other than Miranda working as a lawyer. He should give this more thought.
Perhaps Brady just needs some time off to figure out his passion and ambition? Tons of people take a gap year or two. Not everyone is like Miranda, Brady clearly takes after Steve. Also, there is nothing wrong with not going to college and getting a more working-class job.
Isnt bradys dad a small business owner? What is the harm in following in the business? Get financial experience, customer service, back of house inventory etc etc
yeah but getting a business degree would be very helpful. he could take a gap year working with dad and getting all that experience, then go to college to get formal education to expand his dad's business one day.
Business degrees cost SO much money- he could just work with his dad, even sit in with his dads accountants, learn about how they manage the inventory, cost of goods, vendor relations and on and on and on for FREE while both earning an income and helping his dad. Unless you REAlly want to work in a specialized field like the hard sciences or law, apprentice like training is the way to go.
Unfortunately, most kids don’t realize that the decisions they make when young will affect them later on in life. True example: I knew a woman who lived with her boyfriend and went to college. At some point, she decided she wanted material things now and thought her part time job in security that paid well would be a great career to lean into so she quit college and got a full time security job. Fast forward years later, that long term live in boyfriend cheated on her and got another woman pregnant. And now the woman can’t afford to move out and be on her own because she doesn’t make enough money to do that (meaning she has no options) so she stays and keeps living with her long term live in boyfriend though she wanted to move out. A true story. Kids need pushing and a wake up call from their parents about these things because a lot of kids don’t think long term, they are usually only thinking about now. The present, not the future. If we are treating this AJLT story line as real, what if Steve’s bar goes under, out of business THEN what will Brady do????
My nephew spent 2-3 years following high school as assistant manager of a Subway store. Then he realised he wanted to sell real estate and worked his way in to an established local agency, then worked up. After a few years he had established himself as one of the best in his region, plenty of happy clients, and he’s not 30 yet.
Okay, maybe she's just grasping at straws, but is Miranda *seriously* praising Brady to the sky because he managed to quickly subtract 18 from 56?!? Oh dear lord, what a math whiz! Somebody call MIT. Now this is the type of thing they should be focusing on, that perhaps Brady is just not particularly ambitious, unlike his mother. Worrying where your kid life is going at 18 is ridiculous! You wanted your child to know what they want out of life at 18? Work at it since childhood! Read them stories from all over the world, make them try different hobbies and sports, encourage them to read and explore their potential in school, take them to different types of museums, involve them in different projects around the house/community, expose them to different realities...and, most importantly, *talk to/with them* (and listen to them) everyday. Ask for their opinions. Nothing inspires internal dialogues and search for one's identity as talking to someone willing to listen.

She is sadly a typical American woman pushing people to be something they dont want to be, whether it their husbands or sons. Sad they had to do this to the character too.
This is why my fave is Samantha. Miranda was a inspiring character but she was very highbrow & snob. She always looked down at Steve, she never supported him when he was working at the bar & even during one episode she said she didnt want to get involved with him bc he only served drinks and had no goals. This sequel is going from bad to worse & they are shredding to pieces the good things from all characters like Miranda. 😩
“He slapped me with a gag order” “im sorry, I know” - Miranda’s character has been so butchered. If I told my parents to “back off” at 18 or even now at age 26 they would not back down 😂
Btw Miranda was wearing braces in some early seasons of SATC! I dont remember if it was for a while of just one episode, but yeah, where that line went to? 😁
Her teeth are really distracting. I can see how all actors having straight teeth makes them less interesting. But in our society, crooked teeth says “low class”, and she’s playing a highly-successful character, whatever the character’s background.
They look less interesting with a shiny set of veneers which resemble an expensive porcelain toilet 😆 but healthy straigh teeth after braces and humane level of whiteness wouldn't do wrong to anyone especially an actress especially after 50 when a fresh smile does wonders for a woman

If he grew up in poverty, I bet you he would not want to be flipping burgers.
