- More than 100 George Washington University (GW) graduates walked out during Sunday's commencement ceremony, protesting the ongoing war in Gaza and calling on the university to divest from companies supporting Israel's military operations there.

As parents, we came to see our children celebrate their commencement. Your “walkout” freed us from the anxiety of you ruining the ceremony that these pandemic batch so deserve. Please hold your noise somewhere else! We do not share your politics.
Divest from Israel. It’s simple. If they want to wipe the Palestinians not with our money. It’s really that simple. Remember Vietnam?

I wonder if any of the protestors heard of Shani Louk ? …….and if they do….would they care? She was their age but was buried Sunday….they graduated in their nice blue robes….Shani’s butchered body was paraded through and abused by mobs of Palestinian civilians in Gaza, the same people these students are supporting. Any Gaza’s Palestinian civilians killed or hurt is one too many and a human tragedy…but there are two sides to this story….as is usually the case. These fortunate American students , lucky enough to be born here, live here and graduate here ….passionately scream for one humanitarian narrative …..SILENCE for the other sides story. …selective amnesia and morality.

It’s amazing how so many people are not in the least bit curious or pen minded….balanced to check out the story of the young girl or what happened on October 7th….especially in this digital age with so much access to information. People are not using their brains….these days….they use their hearts and emotions entirely. They just released a tape of Hamas fighters tying up bleeding and terrified female IDF soldiers….after they overran the base on that day. The brother of one of the girls commented on her bravery and fear….has not seen her since. But I suppose, that is fake too….just like the Holocaust deniers….they live in their own small unhappy state of mind and existence….they same who look at terrible politicians and see what they want to see, not what is really there.
