Did this route yesterday (glorious weather after a disgusting few days) and it is as amazing as it looks - in fact even more so! That first glimpse of Eskdale from the top of Walna Scar Road is incredible. After that the whole Dow Crag ridge is great fun. We descended via Goat’s Water rather than continuing to the Old Man as we had a long drive ahead of us, but it was still one of our favourite walks. Love this part of the Lakes, it’s so interesting and different! Thanks for the inspo as ever ❤

Fabulous footage well done. Drones are not my favourite objects in the mountains but good to know you try and consider this in your movie making. That said this drone footage was breathtaking and worth any buzzing! Keep up the good work 👌
Well that's got to be one of the best 47 minutes I've spent sat on the toilet. Another fine example of the beauty of the Lake District combined with the dulcet tones of narration as wonderful as the mountains themselves. The intro could easily be a video in its own right, some absolute stunning drone footage. That said, it still really pisses me off the fact you have some shots with the drone flying backwards. I've told you before and I'm telling you again, it's not right! It completely detracts from the idea of a continuous progression. Time doesn't stand still, nor does it move backwards... I think I'd better stop, I feel a tangent coming on; and it's not moving backwards... No Mark! Stop it! Restrain oneself... Glenn, awesome video 👍🏻

Great video. I pretty much did the same route yesterday, but added in Brim fell as an extra peak. The strange part was only seeing one person from leaving the car park, to getting to the top of the Old man. After that it was extremely crowded on the descent past Low water on the return to the car park.

Another brilliant vlog Glen, we ventured along part of that route the other week on route to Grey Friar then back along the ridge to Coniston. This area will be my Everest Base Camp training place ready for next years trek.

Watching these definitely makes me want to get my boots out and get walking the lockdown stones I have gained, back off!! Wonderful walks, wonderful videos, literally cannot get enough.. Hi Glenn, did this walk with my wife on Monday this week. Unfortunately weather was terrible and views were very limited ☹️. Had planned to extend the walk and go down to Swirl How and even perhaps Wetherlam but had to cut it short after reaching the Old Man.
I did the old man last week. Did the walk past Goats water. Loved yr video and will be buying some micro spikes as I struggled to stand up . Any ways great video, love tuning in and seeing yr walks pal. Drone footage is amazing. Thank you.

Your vlogs are just getting better and better - the drone footage is stunning and your self-deprecating commentary is very amusing. We went up Coniston OM a few years ago via the same route and the top was covered in cloud - I've only just realised how steep a drop there is from the top - hadn't seen that before! Thank-you very much.
Would it be feasible to start at Birks bridge or Cockley Beck and go up Harter fell then back down to hardknott pass past the fort and up the route to slight side and Scafell? All in one hike and back?
Thanks very much 😊 If there's snow on the hills just stick some spikes in your bag, they take up almost no room. Put them on when you find yourself slipping and walking gets a bit tricky. If you're doing steeper stuff like proper scrambling (not Striding Edge) then wear crampons. But if you're just walking a path like in this video micro spikes are more than adequate 👌
