when i got to this part, i was already upset because i thought ranrok killed fig, and then i got so excited when i saw his name in the subtitles, then he died.
Both fig and Weasley were really important throughout the game Weasley was the one Wich helped us experience these things Catch the legendary phoenix Get new place and different spells Gave us her elve and then the room of requirements
It's hard to read Professor Black's demeanor during this part. Its made clear that him and Fig butt heads and don't really get along, but a part of Black must have had some amount of respect for Fig (at least I hope so). So whenever Professor Weasley gestures to take over the farewell speech, I can't tell if it's because he is choked up, or if he is just aware that he isn't good and eulogies. Maybe both?
*spoiler alert if you have not watched the other cutscene* The game has multiple endings. If you choose to take the power for yourself, you miss this cutscene. Thank goodness Austin chose to contain the power. I was bewildered to zone in to the Hogwarts Great Hall and find out Professor Fig had died. I mostly took the evil ending to see if I got a power during the last fight as I had not read ahead on any spoilers, but completely missed Professor Fig's quick death. It gives you an immense feeling of guilt that you let your main friend and companion down, and to think that Miriam's wand is otherwise just strewn on the ground at the end, and he is robbed of dying with it in his hands is just very sad. Very symbolic of both hers, and Fig's feeling of empty disappointment you leave them with if you tell them you are keeping the power for yourself. Thank you Austin, for sharing this clip.
My game went directly from the white flash of them putting the power to rest directly going to the memorial service. I was so confused. I was like wait when did Fig Die
I took the middle option because I simply saw no reason to "just keep it sealed", as I was charged with the duty of dealing with it, just keep on putting it there made absolutely no sense, so i assumed the middle option would lead on to a final decision on whether i could try to destroy or diffuse it somehow, I didn't expect them to go this cheap with the ending of all things, so they gave 3 dialogue options, you get to pick what ending it is with nothing else besides one dialogue, not at the end of the action, fine, but it all boils down to two endings, it's good or evil, and evil ending is just no explanation fig died, how? dunno. What did you do with that power? not really sure....
MINE SKIPPED! HE NEVER DIED ON MINE BUT THEN IT WENT TO THAT SCENE WHERE THEY WERE HONORING HIM. I WAS LIKE WHAT??? AT THE END MINE SAID, “THANKS FOR EVERYTHING MIRIAM” HUHHH???
I believe theres two final cut scenes for if you either choose to store to magic or use it. This one is for storing it, if you keep it you suck the evil magic in and dont see fig
Just finished the game and actually didn’t think he died after talking to him since you could see him breathing. Then in got crushed when Black was eulogizing him at Hogwarts, seriously didn’t think he died.
Ah so that's what happens when you don't take the power. I was so shocked I missed this scene then realized something was wrong when I saw this weakling struggling to contain that little ball of energy. Glad I didn't get this ending, it's too sad to see him die like that.

Hey i have a kinda funny story about when professor fig dies, when i was during the main story befor the boss fight i accidently called professor fig "Dad", and my dad in irl was right next to me and he came over and asked me whats wrong, and i have to tell him i called professor fig "dad" i had NEVER seen so much pain in a fathers eyes, and when professor fig died my dad smirks so yeah do what you will with this information.
I chose the bad ending soley so they wiukd stop trying to hide the inevitable of someone yrying to do what Ranrock did all over again. Guess i messed up
I think they did Miriam dirty for never hearing her out or testing her theory. It’s also stupid that Fig just dies off-screen if you think for yourself and would like to see what could be done with the power. Stupid false choice on the game’s part, in my opinion.

We weren't very close to Figgs in the game, I personally don't have much appreciation for him, but I would cry a river for Miss Weasley.
