Backstage Politics is definitely the bane of WWE's existence. Too many instances of competitors who could have successful careers but never did because the company likes to keep certain people at the top.
This video and the comments on it proves an important point. You cannot give fair criticism about about one promotion without someone taking shots at a completely different promotion.

(I say this as a huge Triple H fan growing up, and still to this day)
There's a certain irony to Triple H & HBK being the ones to lead the charge towards a healthier workplace environment in modern times, considering the shit both of them pulled while coming up and after they reached the top in their respective eras. I'm not saying that to diminish it by any means, in the past few years at least, nearly everyone from the mid-card and upwards have nothing but glowing things to say about their leadership and shepherding of the business and backstage environment. There have been several exceptions, but it seems at least in the modern WWE, they have made huge efforts towards making "best for talent" synonymous with "best for business".
You're 100% Sean has admitted he was immature and the fame went to his head. And yes, HHH was trying to protect his spot in the company. But he did realize that once Cena and Lesnar and Bryan Daniels became THE Guys, he stepped down. And he did do a number of jobs for both Batista and He Who Shall Not Be Named.
And also, beneath the stage act, HHH has also been one of the most level-headed guys in the company avoiding a lot of the partying culture that was present among certain people. And he IS serious about safety, and about respecting the business.
It is ironic, yes.

I spoke with an old colleague who had worked for WWE long time back after all the news about Vince McMahon came into light. He said one thing, keep an eye on all wrestlers with whom Vince got along. We all know about Shawn Michael, HHH and now Brock. I am waiting for bad news about John Cena and Undertaker!

Mox/Dean Ambrose doesn't belong in this video. He was never a victim of abuse. Mox was a top guy in the WWE until the end. He was unhappy with the stories that were written for his character. Nobody held him back. He was at the top of the promotion until he quit. He left so that he could control what his character was doing.

Wrestling was ruined a long time ago by guys like Vince whose crappy company continues to make it an utter social media reality TV kids drama. Its more like an after school special, than a legit wrestling promotion. We replaced guys like Flair, The Von Erichs, Harley, Dusty and true pioneers. With social media idiots and bad actors with dreams of going to hollywood to capitalize on the growing generic B film straight to DVD trend that is now mainstream hollywood. Its just one bad skit with a handful of shit matches sprinkled in, so the average mark can think they are a wrestling fan. The same people that complain if the whole WRESTLING card, has WRESTLING matches on it. Lets face facts. When your talent is having simulated sex with corpses in coffins. You have officially stopped being anything related to a WRESTLING company. Vince and Eric claim to of revolutiuonized wrestling. LOLOL They didnty revolutionize anything. They replaced it with cheap crappy reality TV. The idea is to create something that feels like it could be real. Honestly, they made it into unbelievable cartoon crap. This shit now is just awful. AEW had the right idea for roughly 2 years but gave into the need to water down into cosplay reality TV crap SNL level skits to sell tickets and its funny. When they started off just booking dream 5 star matches. They sold out everywhere in 5, 10, 15 minutes. They decided to adopt that crappy WCW/WWE style of promotion and the arenas are half empty, viewership sitting at where WWE's has been heading the last decade, because nobody over 10 likes this shit. I think that's a sort of programing that goes on, especially at the corporate level. As long as people continue to use what is effectively a childish word people don't take it seriously. The more adult words are things like harassment, stalking or assault, words that carry criminal charges, fines and jail time. Its a way of policing language so the crime is downplayed or even ignored and the offender can keep on keeping on.
