Love the idea and I've always done similar for storage purposes to take up less room. However I have just found some older bags that are thicker (old type that has card in the bottom too....they seem to have all stopped that idea now) and they just won't fold the same and end up too bulky. I'm trying to get them to fit better into a storage box, ie fit as many as possible in. I am a terrible bag hoarder, especially more so now, after the prices of these things shot up.

Yes, some bags won't do this, sadly, but if we can save the bags that do by doing this, all the better. We find the canvas tote bags fold up like this and they last years.

The straps on my bag are very long, almost like shoulder straps. What do you suggest for those?

Loop around the handles more than once.

I have a bum bag, which I use for over my shoulder. Put one of these folded in the bag and it comes in handy
