Looks like Aventon is now throwing in the headlight, tail light, fenders, and rear rack for free with the Sinch. When you add the Sinch to cart, the other items are automatically added to the cart for no additional charge.
As an Expand 5 owner, I was attracted to the generic build- external battery and controller and the killer feature is the bmx bars, which offer great adjustability and comfort. I wish other folding bikes were spec'd with bmx bars instead of the tall telescoping handlebar!
I currently own a HeyBike which I am thinking of returning to buy a Sinch. The issue I am running into is that none of the local bike shops have any interest in working on my bike, which makes me fear the warranty isn't worth the paper it is printed on. Whereas the Aventon has a network of dealers very close to home that will work on the bike should I have a problem. Since even cheap e-bikes are not cheap, I hate the idea of being stuck with a non-functioning item and not being able to find support for it at any price down the road. The more I look into e-bikes, the more I am convinced that dealer support is a factor. Because packing up and shipping some e-bike across country is both time consuming and very impractical and expensive.
I hear more and more LBS are restricting the brand and style of bikes that they will service. Not a good trend. Otherwise, it's smart to consider warranty and service options down the line since most don't think about that sort of hurdle until it's too late! Let me know what you ultimately decide upon
I own an Aventon Pace 500 I bought from my local dealer on Labor Day 2019. I want service and always like to buy local. The controller has gone out on it and it has been at the dealers for over a month. Aventon says they have no I idea when they will get the part in. My dealer is not happy. So again, it’s still a crap shoot with anything electronic. I just hope I don’t own a three year old pricey paperweight!
Went with Aventon. I almost went for Lectric XP 3 but delivery by July. I didn’t realize there was a Sinch 2 now but for the extra $ it looked like lights and I didn’t really need that. Just need a easy way to ride around the property or pop into the back of the Tesla if I want to hit a bike path etc. My use case is more - have old Honda 90 from 1974. It’s getting harder to get non-ethanol gas. And I can’t even keep the thing running long enough to care anymore.
I'm looking get an ebike to increase my range when fishing the surf, would these bikes fit the bill? It'd be nice to be able to throw and fordable ebike in my car when going to the beach.
Spent under 1K and got a Lectric XP. Same power output as these in the video, comes with fenders and racks, has lights, and a very good display. No complaints at 100 miles in.
Nice bikes but I just ordered the Heybike Tyson and I feel you get a lot more for your money (4g connected modem for antitheft, unibody design, Shimano components, hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear turn signals, modern design, color screen, accessories included) and all for $1700. The only negative is not alot of local stores carry or service this brand yet so u may be dealing with support in China but the support is mostly very good.
Yeah, unfortunately with the DTC brands, that's a common issue these days.. but if you can do the service yourself that new Tyson looks to be a killer deal.
That's awesome! Now is a good time to pick up a Sinch. I believe they are still coming with many of the components that I mention they are missing in this video. Fenders, Rear Rack, Front and Rear lighting come free.
Agree that Aventon has the looks by far. However, I feel like the Rad Expand has better overrall features and is better equpped as well so that makes it a winner for me.
I definitely agree. But in my experience support can vary wildly even with the same company based on the rep that you're getting. Some know exactly what they are doing and some could barely tell you what a geared hub motor even is. So, it can be rather difficult to measure. I'll try do add more warranty/support info in future reviews/comparison vids, though! Thank you!
Just purchased 2 Rad Expands and my husband and I are loving them. Those handle bars on the sinch remind me of scooter bars, not attractive in my opinion.
A lot of folding ebikes seem to use the same straight bar design. I assume that it makes for a lower profile fold but I definitely prefer the Expand's bars as well!
Wow! The Sinch is the better looking of the two by far! All things considered, I think I'll have to choose between the RadExpand 5 and the Lectric XP 2.0 Long Range.
Suppoprt is very imortant, Have just bought a Rattan that the hub broke after 60miles. Fix it yourself was was the answer. Or get a shop to do it for $50 max. My card company is getting a refund.
@@ElectricRidesUT - Competition is having an effect on prices. I think volume is having an effect as well -- e-bikes are far more popular than electric cars, if you go by units and not dollars.

Good to know, thank you for the heads up! 🤘
it's a battery powered lights. not tied into the electrical system.
Loving our Sinch(s). Cruises like a Cadillac, sturdy, looks good.

Good comparison video. Thanks for putting this together.
Glad you liked it, thank you!
Thanks for the video and discount!
You bet! Thank you as well!

Depending on how much room you have in your car, but the Sinch or a similar ebike would definitely help you ride farther.

A solid choice!
I just purchased a sinch e bike for my wife. It came with fenders and back rack. I got it for the Black Friday price of $1,599.00.
That's a great deal!
Support should be considered.

Only the Sinch and Soltera bikes from Aventon lack lighting, all other models have integrated front and tail lights.
If Aventon with all the name brand parts is better. Why is the Rad expand 5 ranked better with inferior parts?
I have the Sinch from Aventon. Great Sturdy bike. You don’t know you’re riding a folding bike!
i like the Aventon Sinch Step-thru..hope i win the lottery this week end !! ha
Hah good luck to you!
Aventon has the look for sure. Those 14ah batteries will be dated soon.
Agree with you there! 14Ah seems to be the standard still but many new bikes around this price range are coming out with 20Ah minimum now.
@@ElectricRidesUT I just ordered a 48w/25ah from Amp Rides. That should work for while. :)
I know in Quebec you need light on your bikes riding at night but as long you have it on your body it's ok and again 1 less thing to have on you 🙂

Not the same using 😮 I prefer Rad Power ❤

Both really great choices. Let me know which one you ultimately decide on!
@@ElectricRidesUT I ultimately decided on the Euphree City Robin. I ordered them yesterday.
Source volume is too low.
I just can't decide. UGH.....
There's a lot of good choices out there!

👍🏻
Rad Expand 5 is down to just $1399 now.
I've been waiting for it to come on sale for months, FINALLY! 😁👍
