It will appear on my main channel (the Magic of Java early December) and a year later on this channel. James I (VI of Scotland) believed that he was a victim of an international witchcraft conspiracy. He wrote Daemonologie in 1597. This outlined the practice of witchcraft and the legal consequences. Whilst yes it did result in persecution in Scotland and northern England it also restricted the potential interrogation and punishment compared with continental Europe.
