I propose a prank.. anyone that goes to see Rob at a comic con or even goes to do a guest spot on his show, bring him an Inhuman Marvel Legend figure… where he eventually has a BUNCH of Karnak, Black BOLT, Crystal, etc.. LOL!!

Hoping that kingpin running for Mayor in the MCU can lead to this event. I love how this is a villain that can be so personal but also so broad. He can be a villain to spider man and daredevil and still threaten and power over all superhero. And he doesn’t even have super powers

He's got enough willpower to ignore the Purple Man completely and limited super strength, so if Steve is counted as a superhero, Kingpin definitely counts as having powers.

Maaaannnnn I just finished reading Zdarsky's DD! You DEFINITELY need to cover it. The story is super gritty and the art is so damn good. Loved seeing Punisher vs DD.

I always found the public in the Marvel universe to be particularly stupid. Wilson Fisk, who is known as the Kingpin, arrested multiple times, in the line of sights of cops and superheroes....elected for Mayor?

Agreed, especially the fact that they cheered for Hydra Cap when he was caught pretending to be Captain Krakoa and was discovered to be the one thatplanted that bomb at the university to blame the mutants, you know forgetting a few years back how he became a fascist dictator and toook over America making people Hail Hydra in class and stuff. They cheered because, for some reason they like the nazi clone of Captain America and hate mutants that much which at this point doesn't make I can understand hating Magneto, Apocalypse and other evil mutants but the whole mutant population and cheering for the fascist nazi clone? WTF?

I just wanted to say that the way you consistently talk about comics is like tapping a high pressure tank without a valve and I've always loved that man.
I have to admit, I loved the X men side story of this where he dukes it out against Emma Frost.
Woverine, Ghost Rider, and The Hulk were 3 of an alternate Fantastic Four from the 1980s (along with Spiderman).
Oh you should definitely read Zdarsky's Daredevil run! You have to read it to the end though. It's long and this happens in the middle of it. But it's soooooo good.

Kingpin was originally a Spider-man villain NOT a Daredevil villain. His 1st appearance was in Amazing Spider-man 50.
He's better as a Daredevil villiam imo. That Murdock has the whole legal aspect it makes them more equal.... plus Spidey could just like, instantly 86 him if/when he is so inclined.

Kingpin wasn't originally a Daredevil villain. He was originally a Spidey villain. First appearance was in The Amazing Spiderman no. 50.

Well, the MCU's definitely using this later. Matt's gonna be pissed when Fisk wins. In fact, I cant wait to see how they'll do it.
The Netflix shows are in the MCU timeline now. So, Fisk's crimes have to be common knowledge in New York.
As much as I get what you're saying, I still think Steve would have found a way to make them delete that video. That's basically the difference between him and Tony Stark, despite being a big name hero he still gets people on an entirely different level.
If I can't live under the security of Dooms iron fist, then I'd settle for living in Fisk's NY...

1:09 where youa re discussing a Rhino redemption bit, there was a fun christmas bit that included Rhino confronted by The Punisher in war journal #26 if i remember correctly. Just aa cute whimsical one off between Rhino and Frank where we see Rhino's humanity and humility.

Short answer: yes, obvs.
Long answer: Chip Zdarsky just finished his run, and having followed it month-to-month, it’s a great story IMO. A big highlight for me was DEFINITELY Elektra taking up the mantle as The Woman Without Fear. Incredible artwork, and powerful story.
There’s a new run of Daredevil that just started a few months ago, written by Saladin Ahmed & art by Aaron Kuder. Good so far, I’m enjoying it, though I’m really missing Marco Checchetto’s artwork too. That man has a GIFT.
I want to see stories from a universe identical to 616, except the heroes kill the villains.
Late to the video..... but yes , Vol. 6 & Vol. 7 of Chip Zdarsky DD run was a perfectly weaved tell of dark, gritty and well thought out most definitely worth a read

Hey Rob, I’m trying to streamline my approach to reading comics by going digital. I have enough paperback volumes and omnibus’ to fill a small library by now and my wife is not digging the idea of adding to it. What’s your recommendation as far as digital apps/services?
They need a DeerDevil parody series.
Imagine some of those stuff in this story happens in the MCU.
Honestly if done right, Netflix now Disney Fisk would work really well with a standalone show covering him using dirty tactics to run for mayor. Imagine the Defenders or at least Daredevil trying to stop him from winning but Fisk framing him to look bad as calculated as he is.

Yes, you should read Daredevil, mainly Zdarsky's run 2019 - 2022. It'll answer all you questions about why and how Elektra assumed DD's mantle. She had to change drastically, because DD DOESN'T kill people! You'll love the storyline, right up there with Frank Miller and propagated the whole Devil's Reign expansion, which crossed over onto four other comic franchises! Zdarsky's influence on Daredevil will stand the test of time. The current run doesn't even compare to Zdarsky & Chiccetto's work! Enjoy...

I never followed Daredevil or Kingpin much in comics, but they have grown in me. This sounds like an awesome Kingpin series.

If Fisk becomes mayor and wins everyone over I would love to see either Luke cage or a old Steve Rogers convince all of New York that he’s wrong.

Always liked The King Pin , being a big boy myself. His origins is amazing, he would have made a great Anti Hero if he went that route.
You should read Daredevil! Marvel Knights is also a good read! None of them remember their identities..but I don't know if those issues run concurrently with Devil's Reign. I do have some of The Devil's Reign comics and the stories seem to be connected....
You don't stick Reed Richards in prison and expect someone who was already a scientist before he got his powers not to engineer a way out. Nor Susan, for that matter.

The only reason Kilgrave hasn't used his powers to Thanos a continent for funsies is that he's much too sadistic for that. If you convinced or manipulated this guy to wipe out a town he wouldn't just tell everyone to kill themselves, he'd probably have them climb the tallest building and hold on until they fell off or something. If people needs to die, he wants to see them suffer, he wants to feel in control of their deaths in a real and personal manner.
And of course, he wouldn't just do that on his own because he's way too selfish to just wipe out a bunch of people for no reason, he'd set up shop in some mansion somewhere and then destroy the lives of everyone living nearby, one family at a time, over decades. He's got the manipulative powers of a god but he loves using them to fry ants with a magnifying glass, in this way he's a nice counterpoint to both Otto Octavius and Wilson Fisk.
They spend the entire series accusing each other of thinking small and not seeing the whole picture, while Purple Man is nothing but a glorified plot device. He's thinking smaller than most.
KingPin is essentially budget Dr. Doom. Always scheming and planning. Always several steps ahead. But just at the ground level.
Nah... Kingpin is just Kingpin. Dr. Doom is on another level altogether. Kingpin will send thugs to take you down... Doom would send a robot army, claim diplomatic immunity for all the damage he's done, then send a horde of demons, or warp reality or.... well, with Dr. Doom, anything is possible.

I do like this idea but it's still feels like civil war all over. They need to come up with better comics and have better ideas than destroying our heroes over the years.

they're already setting this up in some kind of way for the mcu with kingpin running for mayor at the end of echo and then apparently the daredevil series continuing right into spiderman 4. even if they do a more grounded version with just spiderman and daredevil going against fisk and some controlled villains of the two were in for a banger
