i just cant appreciate enough how well made and how beautiful this generation of bmws is. The design perfectly bridges the gap between a sporty and serious face, with a classy appearence. The interior is solid too. The design is uniqly bmw and has everything you need, nothing you dont.
I think this is the most beautiful sedan ever made. The smooth, sensual lines, the "serious aspect" headlights, the sober tail lights, the incredible wheels. There's no explanation, in design-wise, for BMW to go from this to the actual 5 Series look.
5er G30 is definetely an icon of BMW design, in my opinion LCI models are better a notch. Never ending discussion with my dad who owns a pre-LCI model :)
Not really, an F11 LCI is much better, integrated I-drive screen (not a stuck on tablet) and the 6 cilinder engines could also be had with just RWD. In the g30 its always x-drive on 6 cilinder engines. An F11 , N55 with adaptive drive an rear wheel steering is just perfection.
@@KRAEMERP2010 I own an e34 at 140K kms on the odometer. Beautiful car but the e39 gen was a huge leap in comfort and accessories. Cars from 1996 to 2001 were BMW's best. e46 3 series, e38 7 series, and e39 5 series were considered the best cars in design, reliability, and comfort. The Peak BMW era was gone after the Alusil blocks made their debut in engine blocks and first gen iDrive was introduced. After 20 years, they perfected their recipes with b58 and b48 engines and iDrive 7.0. G30 with a b58 engine is the perfect modern car that will shine for at least 10-15 years.
I just sold my E39 540i and picked up a G30 530i and the G30 is hardly an upgrade despite being 20 years newer. The only thing noticeably better is the transmission and iDrive
I got an mhd map for my 140i manual (downpipe but only stage 1 to save the clutch).Even tough it is an amazing product which gives you a ton of options, I do feel like the map is very heavy on the torque in the lower rev range. You lose the smooth power delivery of the standard car IMO. On the 140 atleast, the driveability is really not great. Maybe on the 5 series, which is a heavier car with a longer wheelbase, you have better driveability. Would be interesting to make a comparison of how the different b58 powered platforms react to the mhd maps.
same for my m240i, power delivery in normal city driving is really weird(as you described) but I don't care at all tbh because I don't daily mine, and normal highway cruising is pretty much unaffected drivability is still better than most cars
I am in love with this car the way it pushes even after 100 kmh, which is awesome. Engine has a big potential to tune, and gearbox is really, really good for me best 5 series.
I used to have MHD stage 2 on my E32 335i and it was brutal. Completely different car compared to stock for pocket change money :) recommended 100%. GREETINGS FROM CZECH REPUBLIC! :)
440i PP, 540i or 650i are the options I’ve been looking at. Driven them all, I just find myself coming back to the 540. The snuggle feeling of the 650 is great, lots of power. Open up the N63TU2 on the A road and the V8 roars. Would benefit from a few mods to truly hear the best from its power station. Little firm imo for a luxury line. The 440i again quite firm, very sporty appeal. Nice classic 6 note from the B58. Makes for Good Daily driver. Now The 540i just feels to me more refined, more aggressive especially in the Black on black which I’ve drove. Has to be holding the best stance of the 5 range to date…well apart from e39 which is a different ball game. With the 540i Noticed quite a few Turn of heads while doing a town lap. Throughly is a enjoyable car to drive. Looks, power, performance it’s all there for me. Like the 440i Hiding that B58 under the hood and as the video suggests lots of scope for performance play. That B58 has to be another of BMWs best engines to date.

@AutoTopNL how would you compare this engine, in the presented configuration - MHD st2, with the McChip m550d you also presented? Both from an all out power point of view, but also from a regular driving point of view?
I don't think it's clever driving on a rainy day and on such a wet surface. But surely it's a huge and stable limo. You're a professional and you know better if it's safe or not. Cheers
Excellent! Was wondering if an intercooler upgrade were in the plan? With the stage 2 map, the car will get in heat soak mode rather quickly, especially in summer. Did both in my ‘13 E70, and well worth it and the B58 platform
Doesnt get close to 470 without a tu pump on ots 93oct map. Im have the setup i said, downpipe tu pump, 93 oct stage 2 hpfp and i guess its kinda like 460-465hp. A simple stage 2 93 oct gets like 440-445hp
I have the same car and same tune/setup but in the US. Honestly, if you just barely press the gas you're already at 80mph. Trying not to get the car impounded lol
Have a question , do you know where opf filter is allocated in 2019 models ? I have 540i and im looking to buy downpipe and im wonder if this opf is inside downpipe as under my car I see only resonator and back box
Anyone figured out how to see correct speed at 263+? I can see rpms growing so its definitely unblocked after tune I was wondering if alpine cluster or M5 would show it?

That's a proper 5 series. The new G60 is no match for that 540i. The whole G30 platform is peak modern 5 series in my opinion.
Peak 5 series. Best drivetrains, none of this over-digitalised crap and all of the important driving assist tech. Beautiful car
The best 5 series, this tune is nice and clean but still shows great performance!
MHD have a E30 map for standard fuel pump and a E40 map for the TU pump, if you want to be impressed try one of those. Low 8’s 100-200 is guaranteed.
Such a quiet ride at 300 kph. The 5 Series is sick!
