- the older I get, the more important budget Magic is to me. I don't have the disposable income I used to, and to be honest, none of us do. So to stretch our Mtg dollars as far as possible, today we'll talk about the 50 best ways you can spend a dollar on game pieces right now.

Came for the budget decks stayed for the dude behind them ❤
Everyone that finds his videos.
I have a tip for you: currently, this Video can exclusively be watched. Meaning you cannot put it on in the Background or even just Listen to it podcast-style, even though it very much is podcast-similar. Reason being that you did not read/explain the cards, just named them and talked about them shortly. If you wanted a greater viewership, ironically you'd have to account for those only listening. Like most other mtg Podcasts are doing.

Great stable picks. A pro tip with Fecundity is to have a commander that exiles your opponents creatures when they die. That way only you get to draw. For example Nemata, Primeval Warden or such effects on other creatures. There's a bunch!
Excellent choices and fun video.
Marionette master is good for treasure synergies, not for putting the servos, but to get the counters so when you crack a treasure you deal 4dmg to each opponent
I have it in my food deck.
It hurts everyone really bad lol
Been watching the stuff since you were doing deck techs out of spiral notebooks. You're killing it man.
You've quickly become a very entertaining and expensive source of info. Discovered you earlier today and bought 18 cards since and I blame you!
Great list! My shopping list just grew by 20 cards! I love that you include old cards that not many people play or talk about.
Oh the Black Vise+The Rack combo+Megrim+caress+memory worm+shocker combos...
Oh my table HATED me for a while.
LOVE Setessan champion! No joke was just playing my Killian Runes deck on Arena, Champion is awesome play runes for free draw a buncha cards make a big Champ!
🃏 Great tips for budget Magic, appreciate it! 💰
Lurrus is only legal in vintage and commander amongst the more popular formats. What were they thinking when they printed this?
One of my all time favorite cards fits this category: Shamanic Revelation.
You can add a filter to have cards under a dollar or any other currency then sort it by edh rank or relase date
The arm waving bit got me cracking up
Corpse night is a great card! When it was printed sometime around M20 there was a common misprint of the card where it was a 2/3 instead of a 2/2. I was so stoked to play with the 2/3 as it was the first version I had seen. Lost a match because I did not know about change.
Dude I don’t know why you’re not more popular. I tap hard on my phone screen whenever I see you’ve uploaded a new vid. To avoid looking like I’m “Stan” from that Eminem song I’ll stop at saying that I feel like you’re my friend even though you don’t know me. Hope your health is excellent my friend.
I love these kinds of videos, such good info.
AWESOME video. Even though I was looking for cheap cube-ables (I am one of the 6 ppl who doesn't play Commander)... but I still found a ton of great suggestions that I thought were WAY more than a dollar.
Pain lands are in all my 2 and 3 color commander decks, even my CEDH power level ones. If you aren't using them, start using them. The slow lands are very playable, especially in 2 color decks since you won't have more than one slow land in your opening hand. These tend to be the land cycle I replace with OG duals in my pet 3 color decks, but they are a great cycle and often I keep the nongreen slow land in my 3 color decks that do include green.
The fact that lightning bolt did not make this list is criminal. Before it's reprint in baulder's gate each copy went for at least $1. Now you can get a bolt dirt cheap.
Meh.
I watch this channel for the jokes, not kidding. The fact Dev talks about MTG is gravy.
Love the commander talk 🎉🎉🎉
Fantastic work dude. ❤🎉
“Gary for lethal?”
Is my favorite thing to say in Magic
Great list, love the old school picks especially.
“KY-SAR”
The name’s pronunciation actually changes within the game. Those high in his ranks pronounce it as such. Lesser soldiers call him “seee-zur”
There are multiple pronunciations of Caesar. In the game, his faction is based off the Roman Legion. He takes his name directly from Julius Caesar. The pronunciation is lost history in that world though, so people just do their best. You hear it mostly pronounced Kaisar. The man himself says it the Kaisar way, so that's probably most correct for the card.
I am a degenerate when it comes to magic and once played a Demogoth titan, which I sacrificed to Tend the Pests, in response I used my Foretold Mystic Reflection to transform the 11 incoming pests into Gary!!!! Love that guy!
Yuriko with Nanogene Conversion is such a funny way to win
Goblin Bombardment is missing it's friend Impact Tremors at .39 cents
Champion of Lambholt in Ghave or the new Mycotyrant is CHAMPION :p
You my spirit animal dev
Great video, Dev
If you're a fan of pingers, have you thought of building Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin??? Seems to me like one of the best payoffs for single points of damage available to the command zone
I love rest in peace, play it in every white deck
I also go bananas for your deck tech
11:35 Fun fact, I have a mass misprint copy of this card.
I own 32/50. Time to hit up my LGS.
I play Yuriko in my Jeleva deck to get my commander back in hand :) The deck is loaded with high cmc sorceries so it goes hard
Couch Dev, which lets all be honest, is the best Dev just stopped appearing. ( Major bummer )
Now we just have Regular standing Dev, who have the couch in the background. ( he is okay )
Glad to see that 2024 is a return to what we all love! ( no, not couch Dev sadly ) Budget cards :D
If you go wide goblin bombardment is also good. I play it in my jetmir deck
First time watching. I like this guy I had to subscribe
Kestia is great, one of my oldest decks. just make sure you include win conditions unlike I did
Jesus Barrios, you rock, dude!
was a bit sad not to see the OG art for Goblin Bombardment ;)
Mishra's bauble probably should be a commander staple. The card cantrips for zero mana. In theory, you should take out the worst card in your deck and replace it for Mishra's bauble and effectively have a deck of 99 cards instead of 100. Manamorphose is the same way.
It also turns an impulse draw into a card in hand for 0
Now hear me out... uncle Istvan, hopeless nightmare, greedy freebooter, Shambling ghast, shadow alley denizen, Rayne, academy chancellor, desecration demon, hydra broodmaster, grim haruspex, phyrexian processor, norn's annex, debt to the deathless, pain seer, and "karumonix, the rat king".
Grim Haruspex should absolutely be on the list.
Uncle Istvan needs to be errata'd to Legendary :P
who doesn't like a good list; didn't know about Lurrus being so cheap. Love the subtle humor still
If you've got black in the deck but aren't focused on reanimation (crazy, I know), then Nightmare Shepherd is a real toolbox for 50 cents
Village rites ..... man I'm shocked it's not here.
Anything less than 50 cents is ineligible
1) Hapatra is bae. My OG build was put together for $18 at the time, and got upgrades incrementally as I bought cards/packs. Current value is ~$55, and it’s able to go toe-to-toe with cEDH builds in my group. I adore my snake mamma
2) Nearly every card I highly value and enjoy is on this list. It’s a really good reminder that “budget” does NOT mean “poor gameplay/power”. Thanks for making it!
Great content really enjoyed.
Thanks Jesus!
Put that forest up on the wall, it's making my neck itch 😂
The German word Kaizer, meaning Emperor, is directly borrowed from the Roman word Caesar. They are pronounced the same.
I think EDH is the only format Lurrus is legal in lol
Rest In Peace was like $15 dollars five years ago?!!! Crazy.
Budget is great
Thanks hay Suess
great list
Thank you Jesus!!!
Love this list :)
Gracias Chuy!
In some video's the word orzhov should be turned into a drinking game 😅
why did you leave below fifty cents off? wanna do a top 50 of chaff cards?
another one in the cheap boardwipe category - tragic arrogance, at 60 cents, is an absolute house and I play it over any other boardwipe except deluge and farewell
You should do a Joe Rogan style pod with famous names in the industry
Big butt budget party
My brother is like the professor and doesn’t like him
I’m like covertgoblue and I don’t like him
We both would prefer to be like dev
Okay my guy… I love you and your videos. I recommend your channel often. But I have a bone to pick lol how you going to casually recommend everyone play yuriko? This is a crime. An actual crime. I’m not 100% sure some sort of law hasn’t been broken here 😂
Why am I awake at 4:30am?
I'm about to brew a pot of tea at 1:58 a.m. :/
Dood, you rule!!
Thank you Jesus
You’re the best
I am SO CURIOUS as to why the "forest" symbol art piece has been on the couch for the last 4 videos lmao.
Forests don't exist in Dev's world :P LOL
Love it! 👍❤👍
Yuriko is broken AF, that’s why everyone builds her and I don’t know if anyone seriously builds ninjas.
I was gonna say, Yuriko is a popular Cedh deck right?
Nooo, please do not recommend Yuriko, it's the most atrocious commander ever... Repetitive gameplay, bad commander-ninjutsu mechanic (should have had tax) and must-kill player. Ps, love this kind of content! :)
Nice!
Bauble is less than a dollar?!
*buys ten*
Rip green mana
Idk ehay your doing, thats what i wanna do" geat quote. Especially the quite right after. " Pssh cast?" Lol poking at youreelf for for FG etting you don't cast lands. Great
👀
Lol I don't mean to be a hater but I've been burned by Yuriko waaay too many times to not point out that she is one of the most busted cEDH and ""casual"" commanders in the format and she is neither unique nor a ninja commander.
Thanks, Jesus!
SmallBudgetMtG !
Now do it for 50 cents haha
MtG is free
Hey, thanks to Jesus.
Sir, please! Do not apologize for Eternal Witness. She deserves every accolade.
Sure in 2015.
