The ships armaments was 20 canons 500 muskets and 5000 canon rounds of various payloads. Including grapeshot, chain balls, explosive rounds.
The young village leader whispering ike Little Finger. Egged on by his love interest mistress to overthrow his uncle to ascend as top village dog. The mistress was the Melisandre of Shogun, using her body to manipulate the tribal male leaders.
Each episode gets better nd better. Holy **** that ending!!
They did a great job making sense of committing seppuku in this episode.
Doing it was important to prevent a breakdown of diplomacy between the lords. Also, we are born, and we die, and you have no control over anything else.

Omi is already the leader of the village. He wants an upgrade to something like Yabushige's or John Blackthorn's position. He's figured out Yabushige isn't smart, and he's manipulating him in the hope he can eventually take his place.

Yabu is just not smart enough, he is very greedy and can't see further than his own nose, Omi however is very smart and he is pulling strings very well, I didn't read much further than what happens in this episode but it seems like Omi is doing his very own thing (or thinks that he is)
In the book Toranaga said that all the people in the village must respect the Hatamoto and help him with learning the Japanese language during his stay, and if after 6 months he can't speak well enough the village will be burnt down to ashes. Blackthorn was very mad about this and refused to do anything until he met with Yabu and changed this "agreement" making sure village will be safe.
I had it a long time ago when I visited my sister and her husband. Not the worst but it's an acquired taste.

I from Japan, and we eat natto all the time. Put that into a bowl of rice, crack a raw egg on top and add soy sauce. That with miso soup makes a perfect breakfast.

Do you like the way the show is portraying Japanese Culture and History thus far?
I hope the question doesn't come off disrespectful I just know how some works of art
can look and sound beautiful but bastardized an entire culture without the viewer being

Although I am Japanese, first of all, this drama is a work of fiction written by a British-American novelist. First of all, please understand that not everything is historical fact. On top of that, it more faithfully recreates the slightly strange Japan that Hollywood has treated up until now. I respect the staff and actors. This era is called the ``Sengoku period'' in Japan. It was a country of war, and it was a chaotic time with civil wars occurring in many places. Every country has its good and bad sides. I think it's the same in your country.

Technically England does have earthquakes, but they are massively rare and very localized. Most people will never experience one or know anyone that has.
In some ways Yabushige us just as lost in all of this as Blackthorne. It kind of makes him likeable despite his sliminess.
Dint read the book or watched previous series. But I suspect the "kid" wants his uncle's fief. I think the kid's consort/courtesan is ultimately loyal to Torunaga. Torunaga, through her and ambitions of Yabushige's nephew, pushed his son to act aka kill Ishido's men. That way Yabushige is separated from Ishido even further, and his betrayal of Torunaga becomes more unlikely and he is forced to stick with Torunaga out necessity and survival prospects.
If that's true, it was some 8D chest some like from torunaga

There are earthquakes in the UK, but not in the southeast, where Blackthorne is from.
An American black critic said, ``There were black people in Japan during this time, so why haven't they appeared?'' That's the wrong question. In the first place, even if they existed, when making a drama, it is natural that they would not appear if they are not related to the current story, and there is no point in including them by revising history.
This is a remark that makes it difficult for dramas based on Japanese history to revise history.
It is true that during the Sengoku period, black slaves were brought before Nobunaga as a spectacle with their feet chained. At that time, Nobunaga was surprised to see the human being in shackles and the color of his skin, even though he was not a sinner, and ordered him to be given a bath and washed. But when he learned that was the color of his skin, he bought the black man. The black man was named Yasuke by Nobunaga. However, he only kept him by his side as a page. He's not a samurai.
However, that era was different from the era of this drama. Nobunaga's era was much earlier. It does not appear in this drama, which begins with Hideyoshi's death.
There are no black-skinned Ainu. They make fun of Japanese people too much, saying that there were black people with Ainu blood, or that samurai couldn't be strong if they didn't have black blood in their veins. The fact that the Ainu were brought out suggests that an anti-Japanese Asian country may have paid people to do this in order to use black people to denigrate Japan. That's really common. Please don't make fun of Japanese people.
Also, Yasuke was never a samurai.
It has long been said in Japan that "Tōhoku women are often beautiful," and the reason is said to be because their skin is as white as snow. Since the Ainu are descendants of the Tōhoku people (Emishi), the Tōhoku people and the Ainu are hardly different racially.
@@user-fk3zu7lk4w that's right. There were some Inuit people who came over from Sakhalin, but that wasn't that long ago. Some of them made a living by guiding samurai around and transporting their luggage. I used to live in an area where Ainu culture was a tourist attraction, but there is no such thing as a pure Ainu anymore. everyone is japanese
The dish they were eating is called natto, it's fermented soy beans, you stir them to create strings of a sort, and they're very pungent. Served with white rice and some kind of mustard often.

That is something you can add to your taste, and natto itself is not spicy. It is common to use only soy sauce.
This was exactly the reason why Torunaga didn't let his son in charge. Messing things up for his daddy.

It´s so funny how Kashagi is trying to scheme and is being forced into being loyal because neither side tells him their whole plan.
Also, Omi´s courtisane hears quite a lot while entertaining all those high ranking people... no wonder he hasn´t found the rat in the village yet.
I think the old man who told Blackthorne to behave in e1 is the spy... he launched a pigeon. I think Omi's courtesan is just a schemer.

I was so confused watching this episode because I thought the Black Ship in the last episode was the Anjin’s ship. Then we show back up to the village and his ship is there. What was the significance of the black ship if it wasn’t the Anjin’s?
lmao... the black ship is the Portuguese ship, not the English/Dutch ship that Blackthorne arrived on. This isn't complicated.

Omi the cousin of Yabushige wanted to be a Lord, had some land (fiefdom) of his own and get out from his uncle shadow. And that hard if the status quo still stand, the only thing can change that is War. Scheming lil shit but useful schemers if you ask me, for Toranaga side that is. That why I suspected Kikku the woman consort are Toranaga spy or similar to that like Shinobi woman influence powerful men in Sengoku period 😂
