when my dog gets on a scent the barking is relentless. hes been gone for 1 night chasing a deer, came back tired as hell, took a week to recover. lol, my dads dog hase been out over 3 nights. chasing deer.

We had 2 dogs that would jump every fricking deer trail when I was young in the 90's. One whiff, and they were gone!!! Joe and Dan were there names. Eventually someone would bring them back. My dad would get so pissed!
Biggest majority of Beagles will run a deer. That's why with so many deer it's almost mandatory to own shock and tracking collars to break them off deer. A couple good doses usually takes care of them ever wanting to run deer.

Yes there are so many deer around that they never pay any attention to the deer. Also the deer are so use to the dogs running rabbits that they pay no attention to the dogs. I have several videos behind my house where a deer follows my dogs while they run the rabbit. You probably can Google Skyview's Beagles deer follows dogs.

The dogs do not run deer. They are trained to run rabbits and would be shocked if they attempted to run deer or anything other than a rabbit. The object is not to catch the rabbit but to track the scent accurately around to the hunter until the hunter has the opportunity to safely shoot the rabbit. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I have a beagle and there was a coyote 12 feet away from us during a walk and he never saw it because his head was down the whole time sniffing.

You need a shock collar.. It's no problem to break them.

With the tracking/shocking collars it makes it pretty easy to break them off deer. The problem is every year fewer and fewer rabbits.
The time that took to train the dogs to ignore that deer is amazing
Actually there are so many deer they knew at a early age not to run deer and it was never a issue.

Most sell unstarted female pups between 4 or 5 hundred dollars and males for $400.
Those deer are so thick at my house you could shoot one everyday for a year. Just wish we had the rabbits.
