All bowie is good best ever i hope everyone gets to hear his amazing music my favourite song is in the heat of the morning does get over looked like your video
Glad you like 'Low', Glen. For me too it's up there with 'Ziggy Stardust'. I love all his 70's albums, but my third favourite is probably 1995's 'Outside'. It took me a good few listens to fully appreciate it, but its got so many great tracks on it. I think Black Star is another great album, but I too find it sad to listen to. Thanks for the video Glen. Bowie is my second favourite artist, after The Beatles.
I have been a Bowie fan since 1972 when he pointed at me through my TV set and sung ‘had to phone someone so I picked on you’ he was singing Starman. Your collection is growing fast, my I say don’t forget the Man Who Sold The World album. Brilliant work. David over 50 years taught me to listen, to try out other music, he’s influenced me and still does. I miss him so much but with all the material he has given us he won’t be forgotten. Thanks for reading Steve⚡️
I don't have nearly as many Bowie albums as you do, but of the ones I own, Ziggy Stardust is my favorite followed by Hunky Dory and Young Americans. You're a definitely obsessed...from Caravan to David Bowie. It's a healthy obsession!!!
Just came across your video. I have all of Bowie’s albums and I strongly recommend you get Aladdin Sane and his David Live (1974) albums and then everything else you don’t have. There are lots of great live albums too and even when songs are repeated across titles he was always changing things up and never gets boring.
Glad you are discovering some of his older stuff. Low has been one of my favorites since it first came out. I still have the vinyl. Enjoy the Berlin trio of albums.
Hi Glen, it's great to see you properly get into David Bowie. He is my all time favourite artist and my favourite album by anybody ever is Diamond Dogs. Hope you are keeping well - Richard
Good collection - you should look to get Aladdin Sane (follow up to Ziggy), Young Americans (soul/funk), Man Who Sold the World (hard rock/prog) and Outside (industrial, concept album) too
Cool video Glen! I've been obsessed with Bowie since the mid seventies. So I hear you brother. My top ten favorite albums by him would be: 1.Diamond Dogs 2.Ziggy Stardust 3. Pin Ups 4.The Man Who Sold the World 5.Station To Station 6.Scary Monsters and Super Creeps 7.Lodger 8.Heroes 9.Low 10.Aladdin Sane
@@GlenKellawayfromthebasement When Low first came out I didn't like it at all. It was so different from his previous records. Now I actually do love it. I think because I'm more into electronic music now. I also like Pin Ups more than most seem to. To me it's the greatest covers album of all time and one of Bowie's best and most rocking.
Considering your obsession with Low, have you ever checked out Brian Eno's albums? If not I would suggest you give "Before and After Science" a spotify spin. It was recorded at about the same time as Low (1977).
Killer video Glen!! I do the same thing with artists! Lol, I’m a casual fan like you were, i have 9 Bowie records but I’m missing Low and Hunky Dory! Great artist and an even better video by you my friend 👍🤘🤘
Very cool! I didn’t know he covered See Emily Play that’s gotta be good. Not sure on what but he covered the kinks’ where have all the good times gone.
Jack, the Pin Ups versions are definitely different versions...I like them all now but it took me a while, to go from 60's psych pop to Ziggy futurism!
Great video Glen. I'm still working on my David Bowie collection. My favorite Bowie album is Hunky Dory but I still don't have Ziggy Stardust although I know many of the songs. My second favorite is probably Young Americans but I do love the Low album. You've got me beat but I'm working on it. You are on a Bowie tear for sure.
David Bowie: The greatest solo artist, without doubt. The Berlin Trilogy being his best chain of albums including Station To Station, up from 76 to 79. Back in 1973 I bought Alladin Sane and Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies, they were my first 2 vinyl albums, being 11 years old. I still treasure them. But in the 80ties I lost a little interest, after releasing Let's Dance until his 2013 album The Next Day. His last album, Black Star is a masterpiece. In between I only bought Earthling. The first half of the 70ties releasing Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Pin Ups and Diamond Dogs .... what more can you wish for? An amzing character and an amazing artist. My most favourite album is Heroes, with songs like Heroes and Sense Of Doubt, Low being a good nummer 2 with Sound And Vision and Warszawa. His 78 live albums Stage and Welcome To The Black out are some of tge best live albums ever made. And kkep in mind, my Beatles obsession is even bigger.
The RSD "ChangesNowBowie" album is really good. Live and acoustic in the studio, recorded Nov. 1996. To be played on his 50th birthday BBC radio special. He runs through a variety of older songs. A bit short, but a very good performance. I got it on a whim, but liked it more than I was expecting.
Was so excited to see this. Bowie is my favourite artist of all-time, so naturally I was happy to see you talk about him. My favourite is Station to Station. Low, Ziggy, Hunky Dory and Scary Monsters are right up there too, but he has too many great albums to count
Hi Glen. I went down the Bowie "rabbit hole" 3 or 4 years ago and picked up virtually everything, including the live albums. I was lucky enough to see Bowie three times, despite being only a casual fan. I was at that fantastic Glastonbury Festival performance, a magical night. Did you get the version with the DVD of the complete performance? Well worth picking up. Take care. Paul.
I’m totally obsessed ! Been a fan since ‘69, saw him live in the 70’s and beyond. Hunky Dory is my number one today - so many classics, I’d also recommend Outside.1 and don’t forget his 60’s output, there’s a few hidden gems there. Great to hear you thoughts !
Hello Glen , good video ! David Bowie I never really got into, I always liked his radio hits in fact I have a few of his 45's and someone gave me a cassette of Diamond Dogs which I really like . So I just might have to get a couple more albums of his to check out . Other than from you I heard Heros was really good. Thanks and take care.
I was disappointed when Let's Dance came out, though it's better than Tonight and Never Let Me Down. Though I"m still kind of neutral on Tin Machine, I grew to love Reeves Gabrels. Tin Machine though I felt was Bowie sort of doing his version of Iggy Pop rock and roll, with Lou Reed's Rock and Roll Animal band. And for me that just ok, I like Tin Machine 2 more than the first one, and I like the live album ( 'Oy Vey Baby', I think that album's title was a take off on U2's Actung Baby). All of the Tin Machine song credits are to the whole band, and it's interesting that they haven't been made into a big box set. Black Tie White Noise was better than his big 80's solo albums, but still kind of overproduced and lackluster. He started getting really good again with the Buddha of Suburbia soundtrack. And I like -Outside-. It's long and overblown, but there are great songs on it...Heart's Filthy Lesson, Hallo Spaceboy, Voyeur of Utter Destruction, I Have Not Been to Oxford Town...it's a concept album about a murderer who's victims are used as gruesome art, so it's kind of a horror story. But Eno was back with him collaborating on it, and he began collaborating with a lot of the current alternative artists like Nine Inch Nails. Earthling was very drum and bass influenced, and I loved that album and the tour. Another one you don't have yet is hours... That was the last album with Reeves Gabrels, a much more laid back album. On it I like Thursday's Child and Survive. After Heathen he released Reality, and that was the last tour he did. His cover of Jonathan Richman's Pablo Picasso is well, not my favorite (but at least Jonathan Richman got some $$$!!) but otherwise it's pretty good. Probably my favorite song on it is 'Bring Me the Head of the Disco King', It all worked well in concert. Dumb album cover though! and you have the rest of them...but go back and get Man Who Sold the World and Alladin Sane. Lodger will grow on you, I predict, Glen...it is kind of creepy and uncomfortable, but I think it's one of his best. Outside is creepy too...I sure love Hallo Spaceboy...that was so great in concert.
I know and understand the Bowie obsession. Enjoy! 🙂🙂🙂
You have to buy Aladdin Sane, Man Who Sold the World and Young Americans Glen, awesome records!
Hey Julian..ask and you shall receive..On Sunday I picked up all three of them..👍❤glen
The Man Who Sold The World and Aladdine Sane are in my top 5 of Bowie

Yeah baby !!! Really loving these albums..
Also Robert Fripp's guitar work on Scary Monsters.... unreal

@@GlenKellawayfromthebasement I have it confused with an early Black Sabbath album myself. It's heavy, it's not like the rest of Bowie's albums.
