    It also depends on the quality of the laminate, for instance Scotch brand holds up alot better then Amazon basics laminate pouches. The Amazon basics laminate separates from the cardstock at the fold and outward when you bend it to make TN's etc.

      Kelly Lynn thank you for sharing that! I do only use Scotch but was considering trying the Amazon product. Very good know. Thank you for watching and commenting xoxo 😊

    Did you know.... u do not need to laminate both sides of the paper? If u only have one side laminated, I bet you would have an even harder time trying to pull off the laminate on the front of the piece, because there’s no backside laminate to separate from the front side laminate (because to me it looks like u r just splitting the card stock and the laminate is staying stuck to the 2 sides of cardstock). I hope I’m explaining that right lol. I love the tip about using lighter paper stock when laminating. No sense wasting good card stock when cheap copy paper will do :-) It’s also easier to cut if only laminated on front and if we use copy paper.

      missvickie1975 yes you are explaining it perfectly and you are absolutely right. One sided laminating is awesome for crafting! For educational purposes the sturdiness the laminate adds double sided is better suited for items that will be handled often (like in the classroom). Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Xoxo 😊

      @@SHBCreative And, too, IF you laminate BOTH sides, the piece can be more readily disinfected! But, I VERY much like the idea of using copy paper laminated on ONE side for paper crafting. Keeps the bulk / thickness down when card crafting. AND would save M A N Y inches of bookshelf space for scrapbookers!!

    Thank you for this video! I needed some die cut flowers to be laminated on both sides and the paper started to come apart from the lamination and I didn't know why. This video is exactly what I needed!!

    I just found this video on your tips when cutting laminated cardstock. These tips will help me immensely because I was laminating some Halloween embellishments the other day and they were coming apart. I just joined your RUclips channel too. Thank you for a great video.

      Ann Aubrey Thank you for subscribing! There were some other great suggestions in the comments as well. You can also try laminating on one side, and someone else mentioned using Scotch brand laminating pouches. Scotch is the only one I use, but if you’re using another brand maybe try scotch instead. Glad you found this helpful and thank you so much for commenting. Xoxo 😊

    It definitely helped because I just got my first laminator and I had noticed some separation here and there and was wondering if I could re-laminate and now I know how! :)

  • @kkrolf2782
    @kkrolf2782 3 года назад +2

    Just my opinion...BUT ... I think another contributing factor to the separating issue is the card stock seems to be composed of layers, and, when you have a PLASTIC surface on both sides, and you purposely attempt to delaminate the plastic surfaces, SOMETHING’s gotta give. As the card stock is the weakest element in the composite, THAT’s where it’s gonna give.

      @SHBCreative  3 года назад

      Yes I agree. I believe I touched lightly on that in one of the examples showing where the cardstock was coming apart. Not sure if I showed it clearly but yes the separation of the layers of cardstock is a relevant factor. Thank you for your comments 😊

      Try using pages from the adult coloring books. Cool designs and quality paper. Color first or leave b&w. You can also use QUALITY wrapping paper, not the cheapo stuff. Smooth wallpaper, etc. The possibilities are endless.
