I was at this taping. I was sitting right behind Benmont Tench, the pianist. The taping was four hours long, and he told me some cool stories while Stevie was getting her makeup touched up and stuff. She did the whole set twice. It was amazing.
I'm so happy that you got to react to the VH1 Storytellers version of this most beautiful song of her solo career with the story thst inspired it. I always get teary twice in this song.
I love when these great artists perform in intimate settings like this 👍😌. Stevie has one of the most distinctive & distinguished voices in the world. She’s a true pro 🫵😁👍
With the way she told the story at the beginning, you just KNEW this was going to be a real “tug at the heart strings” type of performance. She didn’t disappoint 🥺🥺🥺
Dear Sir,although Stevies words were elegant as always,(I'm 60 yrs.old, have flown with Stevie, figuratively, and physically, lol),it was your words that pierced me Ole heart,"I wanna give my condolences to anyone out the, that might of lost a child,"This mnth.and yr that I'm watching you is,Feb.2023,and I lost my daughter at the age of 24,on the 19th....15 yrs.ago...it changed me forever,Thank you for your kind words.
I just saw her 2 weeks ago in Bangor Maine. I wish that she would have done this song. She is still so amazing ! I love listening to Stevie tell us the inspiration and meaning behind songs that she’s written and perfected. She’s one of a kind and I’ve loved her solo and with Fleetwood Mac for decades. And at 74yrs.old there’s no slowing her greatness down.she is still so beautiful and so is her voice
I lost my 30 year-old daughter unexpectedly on Jan. 19th, 2020. 3 years coming up soon since I've heard my firstborn's voice. My heart still aches and will always have a piece missing
I requested this and came back for yet another re-watch. I see your comment and want you to know I’m so very sorry for your loss. Many blessings and healing to you, always. ❤️🩹🙏🏼❤️
Loved this song for years , hardly ever heard it anywhere , I was at a stevie nicks concert at red rocks in colorado, late 80s and heard it for the first time !! Stuck with me !! Didnt ever think i would hear a reaction to it !!!!!!
Yes- that’s why I requested it and Jamel so graciously reacted to it- I wanted to get it out there. Knowing that nobody is ever likely to request it period. Unfortunately- So glad you were happy to see/hear it and so thankful to Jamel for so kindly doing it and some others I asked for- Truly a good human-🙂
I saw her back in 84 and she sang this a she was crying..I couldn't believe it..I was like..why is she crying?? Now I no! Always loved this song. But all her songs are awesome! She was so backlogged with songs that she started recording on her own and touring. Silver springs was another of my favs, but I think you have already reacted to it. Thanku to whoever requested this!
Joe lived in Boulder after leaving Cleveland. The location mentioned is North Boulder Park at Delwood Ave and 9th St. The story is Joe used to take Emma to that park and she wasn't tall enough to reach the fountain. After she died he installed a new shorter fountain and a plaque was placed next to it. Several years ago the shelter there was rebuilt and the fountain was moved to another side of the shelter and the plaque was moved with it. It's still there. There were reports when Joe was in Denver he stopped by the shelter for a visit.
I saw her on her Wild Heart tour in Knoxville TN in 1983 ♥️ Joe Walsh Opened & it was amazing 🎸 My 3 daughters are taking me to see her on the 22nd of this month in Charlotte & I am so excited I can’t stand it ♥️🎤
This song has always moved me, usually to tears. For AHS fans, they recognize it from 'Coven'. It moved me to tears watching that too. Just a brilliant, yet heartbreaking song.
I've seen Stevie twice. The most recent time, she was very chatty with the audience, telling the stories behind a lot of her songs. Just awesome! Some in the audience didn't like it so much, screw'em! Loved it! Btw, Chrissy Hynde was on the bill as well, what a show!
Stevie Nicks is my biggest fan! I have seen her 7 times in concert...My brother dedicated this song to me before he left for college to the Art institute of Fort Lauderdale, Fl.. 4 months later he was hit by a drunk driver. broke his hip bone, collar bone and cracked the back of his skull. He died at that sudden moment and seen his body rise above the people around him and what they were doing. He did survive and told the story to the people that took care of him that he seen them around his body.. and they cried very hard. So this song has meaning for me.. Beautiful story.
She's in a class by herself. Been a fan for over 40 years, I feel same about my two female singers, Martina McBride check her out singing broken wing, Pat Benatar, hit me with your best shot These last two ladies did hit me with your best shot a couple years ago.Benatar's husband's lead is one of the best ever. One more thing. The guy who played lead for Lynrd Skynrd Alan Collins was one of the best.He made that guitar cry on Tuesday's gone.To me that's what a broken heart sounds like.I know. Thanks brother, prayers.
I also love Pats song “Fire & Ice.” Probably my fave of hers, tho I love many- That song “Fire & Ice” was such a HIT as well.. yet it hardly ever gets requests anywhere- 🤷🏻♀️☹️Except from me,at least not that I’ve seen..certainly not reacted to.. (Like this one that Jamel so kindly did for me with some others.. I hope(d) to try to get in the algorithm..) The video for Pats “Fire & Ice” is also great! With her husband to her side onstage shredding guitar- the official video. And yes! Martina McBride “Broken Wing..” 🥺 Beautifully done, yet so sad- but for a good cause and awareness.. I do believe Jamel did that one a long time back-
This clip is from a program called "StoryTellers" where the performers tell the story of their songs. Stevie tells the story of all her songs - the ones she wrote herself.
Thank you Jamel- yes, such a beautiful, yet bittersweet song- And yes, the lyrics/true story and instrumentals grabbed me hard when I first heard it decades ago- And of course my love for ✨Stevie✨, with and/or without Fleetwood Mac. ( whom I also love as a band- In my top 5 of all time). Much love always-❤️💙
You should listen to Beautiful Child live from the Say You Will tour (2003). That, and Storms from Tusk. Also, Sleeping Angel...written and recorded for the film Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Nicks eventually came out and said that Walsh had been "the great love of my life". They were together from 1983-86, their love for coke ended their relationship. Joe told her friend "I'm leaving Stevie, because I'm afraid that one of us is going to die"
This came from an old show called “ Story Tellers” on VH1. Artists would perform and tell where the inspiration for their songs came from. She has said that actually Joe Walsh was the love of her life…
I have a really hard time singing sad songs. I don't know how they do it, if it's just repetition or what. I love your channel and am wonder if you could name some songs that have really moved you.
Most great songs are written very quickly, without overthinking it. More times than not, if you overthink things, they tend to not turn out as good as it would, if you had just did whatever it was. There is some truth to the old saying, Think long, think wrong.

Yes this is 1 beautiful song 🎵 prob about 1977 or so,,I've always loved it ❤❤
One of my favorite songs…..this is story telling. This song still makes me cry because of my own story.

I love this song so much! Stevie is my idol! Her music touches me in such a way that I could never explain ❣️
Nobody does it like Stevie....So much feeling in her songs.
Her voice doesn't need a trademark, it is so hers.

@@kimberlinibambini1988 thank you. I can't believe it'll be 3 years since she left this world. It still seems like yesterday. 💔
Oh this song always makes me bawl!
There is no one like Stevie Nicks. The best at all.
I remember when this song first came out. My local DJ said he "loved this song by Stevie Nicks".
Loved this song for years , hardly ever heard it anywhere , I was at a stevie nicks concert at red rocks in colorado, late 80s and heard it for the first time !! Stuck with me !! Didnt ever think i would hear a reaction to it !!!!!!

most GREAT sings were written in mere minutes....... TOUCHED/BLESSED.. that is how music works
One of my best concerts in my lifetime

All her music is priceless
Thank you for reacting to this beautiful gem from the rock goddess 🐐!
Such a sad but yet beautiful song!❤
Such a beautiful song
This song always brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it
As an aside… she was in a romantic relationship with Joe Walsh for about 3 years.
My girl. Thank you.

Love Stevie. This song is so good and so sad
Beautiful
The daughter of Joe Walsh she's talking about in the story, Emma Kristen. Joe also wrote "Song For Emma" for his daughter.
Joe Walsh wrote and performed a song called "Song For Emma."
This came from an old show called “ Story Tellers” on VH1. Artists would perform and tell where the inspiration for their songs came from. She has said that actually Joe Walsh was the love of her life…
Storytellers was such a fantastic series on VH1. Love hearing the reasons songs came to be right from the artist's mouth!
I have a really hard time singing sad songs. I don't know how they do it, if it's just repetition or what. I love your channel and am wonder if you could name some songs that have really moved you.
Shoutouts. If it werent for this channel. I may have never heard this ever.
Great song. How have you been doing it's been awhile brother
Love the original as well from the album Rock A Little. It's better because she was younger when she performed it.
The song benefits from her younger-sounding voice, but it was also very ragged because she hadn’t been taking care of it
@@jacobskinner3522 true but I like the lyrics better in the original version as well.
Make sure you listen to studio version also.
And most likely you will add it to your slow song playlist
She was dating Joe Walsh ( I've heard in other interviews)at the time and his little girl was killed.
"Poet...priest of nothing...legend" This may or may not be where I took my handle from lol 😉
Please react to Silver Spring by Fleetwood Mac! It’s beautiful just like this one.
She was Fleetwood Mac
She and Lindsey Buckingham went to my highschool
Hey Jamal, Big fan of your channel. Can I request you to do “She caught the Katy” by Taj Mahal

Please check out “Halo on fire” by Metallica
